CC Dylan's cot base is at its lowest point already due to her persistance in climbing out it and landing on herheadself

she's had a feed tonight so fingers crossed she decides to hold it down

just spoken to my SIL who is remarkably unexcited re going in to have a baby tomorrow she's more worried about being home in time for nephews birthday on Thurs?!?!?! I just don't understand some people

cyteen · 07/09/2009 20:40

Well, DS is apparently yelling himself to sleep tonight He bashed his mouth just before bathtime - it bled - and since putting him down in his cot he has basically had a massive paddy. Calpol has been administered, cuddles, offers of milk, dummy, stories, he has been taken into our bedroom for some quiet playtime with daddy and during any of the parts that weren't in his room he was perfectly fine. But take him back into his room and he starts crying again. He's up there right now, angrily shouting his head off. WTF do we do?

dizzydixies · 07/09/2009 20:43

nothing, he's playing the injury card - give him a moment to calm down in his room and he'll be fine

and apply liberal lashings of arnica

CaptainCaveman · 07/09/2009 20:45

Get some earplugs and drink some wine? Hmm, I'm not much help am I?

Someone please fill me in with what and when is happening in Bath?

CaptainCaveman · 07/09/2009 20:46

dizzy do you have shares in arnica?

dizzydixies · 07/09/2009 20:49

bath kids literary festival there you go

LoveBuckets · 07/09/2009 20:51

I am thinking about driving to Bath the Friday night, seeing a movie or a play, staying at the YHA (£18 per night) and trying to catch VG & Master VG on the Sat morning. But will depend on friend coming too (she's on holiday at mo so I won't know til next week), don't fancy staying on my own. Anyone fancy joining me on a great escape that night?

Kurt said hello yesterday! I'd snuck in to his room to use the computer before he was properly asleep and this little voice started going 'Heyo heyo heyo'

Dizzy Good luck to your SIL.

CaptainCaveman · 07/09/2009 20:51

Buckets theatre or the Little theatre runs non mainstream films - their listings are not out for that week yet. We cannot do Friday nught out as DH works to 10pm and I have no one to sit on DD.

poppysocks · 07/09/2009 21:12

Sorry to hear last week was so rough LOTI. Hopefully the silver lining will be DH having the snip though.

Hope DS calms down soon cyteen.

V. excited for you (and your SiL) about impending niece dizzy.

Nice to see you back cc and albs.

My update: I've been away and stopped speaking to my father, DH knocked himself out but came round with perfect sight but a spectacularly swollen face and the DD2 is now walking and talking and keeps being politely described as a 'live-wire' .

oopsacoconut · 07/09/2009 21:21

Poppy - DD has also been called a live wire recently and has also been accused of hoolieing around too much (what a hoolie is, is beyond me!) Both by the ILs and an old lady at church, when DD was dancing to the hymns

oopsacoconut · 07/09/2009 21:24

why do I always end up as 666

cyteen · 07/09/2009 21:42

Nope, he is still going mental.

RedLentil · 07/09/2009 22:00

Oh Cyteen, the poor boy.
It's awful when they can't say what ails them.

Poppy, is DD1 ok after the scare she got when DH had his accident. You really are in the wars at the moment.

Wotcha Cece and Albs.

And Loti, sorry to hear you have had such a tempestuous week.

Dizzy, how did you do that file dodge thing? I went out tonight and came back as the chair of the Parents Association for DD1's playgroup.

Rofl at the dinosaur thing, pick myself up and rofl again. That is just fabulous.

Miamla · 07/09/2009 22:04

just popping on to wish you all a good night and many happy dinosaurs to everyone!

LoveBuckets · 07/09/2009 22:06

LOL congrats on your new title Lentil. Hope the books are in good order.

Cyteen Good luck with him.

dizzydixies · 07/09/2009 22:07

red to be honest I was perfectly prepared to do it but they threw all their toys out of the pram and said I do too much and that someone else would have to step up - another meeting has been called for Thurs night where it will be the same people who turn up and I'll probably end up having to do it anyway either that or they think I'm crap and don't want me I think their desire for the cafe to be opened outweighs their desire for me to be Chairperson!!

loti am sorry I missed your week am sorry

poppy how is DH getting on with his new found sight?

dizzydixies · 07/09/2009 22:12

evening Miamla - did you get my message on FB?

RedLentil · 07/09/2009 22:13

Don't mind them Dizzy. They might want to be involved in the opening of it, but it is your passion and drive that will make it brilliant.

The person next to me suggested slightly acidly that if I turned myself into the holy trinity I could be chair, secretary and treasurer. A peculiarly Irish class of insult that one ...

RedLentil · 07/09/2009 22:14

Buckets, I forgot to say that your description of your fab night out with DH really moved me.

That thing about finding yourselves hilarious exactly captures the finest moments of being with someone for a very long time.

dizzydixies · 07/09/2009 22:23

Red the stupid thing was I didn't want to do it at all but when nobody else turned up/was prepared to do it I said I would do it. The playgroup can only run if there is a committee and without one we all loose out but especially the kids. Two of the mums there, who have been chair previously, said no, there would be another meeting in the hope that someone else would step up at that one leaving me free to fulfil the job I already have as well as my parent council commitments for the school. Even with their very kind explanations I was ridicliously annoyed at being told what to do and I think that it must have showed as they both spoke to me about it afterwards
