eek myjob to the infection, hope you ok and the AB's work!

heather sorry about the swine flu, lets hope its not and it is the teething!

ronshar I watched that last night and it really made me realise my hearing problem is not that bad! I could not watch the second half, I did want to but was falling asleep trying to stay up so had to go ot bed. Its sooo sad.

We have busy months with b'days too! my mums, friends little boy and another friends daughter all this week then oct is both my dds, my nephew and my MIL on same day, my god daughter, and another friends little boy! (Me and my 2 friends have each got 2 kids with b'days sept/oct!)

Been to tescos this am and it was a nightmare, dd2 tired and dd1 bored and I really spent too much and still not sure what I actually have to cook! eek! Off to my mums in a bit to help her sort the car seats out I gave to her from a friend.

Well, I served Q fish fingers tonight . He ate them!!!!! Yay!! been trying to get him to eat fish. He does NOT like salmon.

star6 · 24/09/2009 19:43

But fish fingers doesn't really count as fish, does it? I got really healthy ones. I got salmon ones last time. This time white fish and he gobbled down two!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/09/2009 19:45

I don't seem to get much time to post at the moment.

Ds seems to be over his major grump though - phew!
And dh is starting work next week, but prob won't go away until the week after.

Dd has hideous cough.

That climbing cube is great, but look out for used ones in your area on ebay to save a bit of money (perhaps not the best time of year to find one though).

Try lemon sole for him star - nice mild flavour, and seems to be the favourite fish for both of mine. It's nicest IMO if you buy the kind in the 'light/floury/herbed' coating (depends which supermarket, but they all seem to have one something like this), although that contains milk so we're having to settle for the ones in breadcrumbs at the moment. Should prob just buy the fish from the fish counter and coat myself I suppose.

ronshar · 24/09/2009 20:02

I'm here.
HMM yes that is pretty much the thing I am looking for. I shall try ebay first as there are bound to be some on there. We had somthing like that for DD1 years ago.

Jenwa. Yes does put things into perspective really.

Heather I would recommend NOT taking Tamiflu as it hasnt been proven to help in children. It can also make symptoms worse. Is there anyone around you who has pig flu?

ronshar · 24/09/2009 20:16

W loves fish, he will eat smoked Salmon on brown bread, fish fingers (he had those tonight) fresh Haddock pretty much anything fishy.

Myjob, have you been bitten by something? Or maybe it is a hair? You could be turning into a unicorn

CSWS, how long has D had his cough. DH has had a nasty cough for nearly 5 weeks, W has just started to cough now. Poor baby looks quite sad.

William has taught himself to stand up from the floor. He has been looking like a frog for a few days. He has now finally mastered how to stand straight! Walking not to far away. Uh oh. Life all goes downhill from there

ronshar · 24/09/2009 20:18

Ooops I obviously meant DD and her cough!

Lemon sole is lovely! J loves fish too and gobbles up fish fingers, in fact he had them last night with a few oven chips and peas. Nursery has been going much better, another good day today and he allowed them to give him a bottle The only negative this week is that he tried to pull himself up on a little plastic chair and fell back and split his lip open He looks like he's been in a fight. He's fine though, managed to eat dinner no problems.

Work is going good thanks Ronshar. It is utterly exhausting teaching Nursery but great fun. I'm losing my voice due to all the talking and answering "why" a million times a day. Great news about W standing, so clever

Great news about your dh's job CSWS- does he have to work away a lot?

Heaher- sorry to hear about the swine flu. I don't think I'd take tamiflu either. I hope he gets better soon.

Thanks Myjob! Sorry to hear about your infection, it sounds really uncomfortable. I hope the AB's work quickly.

Pistachio- I think it will settle down too. We're taking them all to the park next week to find Autumn leaves. There are 25 chn each session...I think I'll be a nervous wreck afterwards

ronshar · 24/09/2009 21:36

Myjob sounds horrid for you.

Ladies have you seen the XMAS MEET UP THREAD. It is in London on 28th November.
Shall we be brave and go?

aubergenie · 24/09/2009 21:41

Evening all.

Heather - Sorry to hear about Alex. Someone I know was given tamiflu earlier this summer and she said it made her feel dreadful and that it was the worst bit.

Myjob - ouch! infection sounds painful.

Glad the nursery settling is improving, Rachie. You must be relieved.

I think I might try some lemon sole on S. I'm constantly looking for more protein ideas. I don't eat red meat and S doesn't seem to like chicken (I think he finds it difficult to chew as he's still only got two teeth so he ends up spitting it out), and we're all a bit lentilled out. I made some turkey burgers this evening and they all ended up on the floor. He can eat his body weight in pasta or risotto though.

50ftQueenie · 24/09/2009 21:42

Sorry I've not been around. I feel I have lost my MN mojo and have written a few mammoth posts only to delete them before posting. I think I just have PMT!!! I'll be back soon, please don't think I'm being rude.

I do have to say, eeeewww to forehead infection! Oh Myjob what a nightmare! I would have been poking it with pins to try and get the yuck out (an I am sure Ronshar would have been trying to remove the pus too )

Ronshar - DH had a whitlow last week and refused to let me squeeze it, then the selfish bastard squeezed it himself! I refused to talk to him for about an hour (that's ages for me, I can't go long without talking).

ronshar · 24/09/2009 21:53

I have tried to restrain myself and not scare myjob too much. I would love to get my hands on her forehead. What kind of DH have you got? My DH wont even let me squeeze a spot on his back. He tells me it hurts. Big baby.

50ftQueenie · 24/09/2009 22:09

DH will let me get spots on his back and on his face, but I am still pretty pissed off about the whitlow. I managed to convince him to let me squeeze the last one he had (which is probably why he refused this time). It was fabulous! Ingrown hairs are my personal favs.

Sorry Myjob, I am not making light of your pain, I am just terrible for picking and squeezing.

ronshar · 24/09/2009 22:30

I love the hairs. I cant have any waxing because of ingrowing hairs. Although I do like digging them out. [gross]
Myjob what you doin tomorrow?

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/09/2009 22:36

aubergenie - could you make a bolognese sauce with turkey mince for S?
I will also dig you out a recipe for turkey meatloaf which doesn't need teeth to eat.
Remind me if I don't post it in the next couple of days.

I would happily go to a Christmas meetup with the rest of you lovely ladies, but I have little interest in meeting most others this year, as the board has changed a lot for me in recent times. You can all come to mine for a meetup though!

Rachie - historically dh has worked abroad all week (or sometimes just Mon-Thurs), but he managed to work from home for much of last year, and has then been out of work all of this year.
