Happy birthday Emma. 1st birthday. All down hill from here Ksal are you having a very well earned glass of wine?

W throws right strops.Today in town with DH I sneaked a small pack off choc fudge on to the shopping in Beales, DH was buying frying pans. Anyway I passed a chunk to DH & W shouted really loudiy it made me jump. THen he proceeded to cry big crocodile tears. All because he wanted a piece and he didnt get one. I really hoped this baby would be a nice one. Struck out again...

Congrats to N for taking the giant step of standing. Her wee little legs must have grown. I hope you had a good b'day on Sunday Myjob.

Star. Hang on in there. These bad times will pass and you will be stronger on the other side. Q is a very lucky boy.

50ft. Well done to M. How is DS back at school? Back to the same old routine? I am going to go to Blue water before the end of September. In the week. Could you meet me do you think? And anyone else local.

Jenwa. I had my sinus spaces cleared out under GA 2 years ago. Get it sorted quickly before you have to go through that ordeal. I couldnt get out of bed for 4 days. Bearing in mind I have delivered 2 children without drugs. Nightmare.

Rachie. Dont worry too much, some children do take a little while to settle. I would perhaps suggest that the nursery may not be the right one for you both. They sound a bit crap to be honest. Are there any other nurseries near you? Or perhaps a child minder?

RachieW · 16/09/2009 20:17

Pistachio- I am sending huge sympathies for dd's second day.

Thanks for all your messages about Nursery. Today he was calmer but still not great. I'm going to keep going though. I think it is a good nursery, it was recommended by two sets of friends and all of the chn that are settled in seem really happy. I just think J will take longer to settle. Am trying v.hard to be positive.

Happy Birthday Emma

lol hm at me being more reasonable than you I tend to get stressed too quickly!
Luckily I spoke to my mum today and its all ok now. I did say I was upset they went ahead and asked inlaws but that I could see they did it for the right reason although dad never needed to speak to me the way he did on the phone. He was ordering me basically!

Happy birthday to Emma hope you have had a lovely day. I cant believe how quickly it has gone, I remember looking at the threads last year reading about all the new babies!

pistachio ah bless her, although I bet the book corner was quite fun

ronshar ouch to sinus op! I am hoping it was stress really and goes away by itself

P is not well [sad[ stinking cold and really clingy I dont know what to do! She is so placid normally but now hates me leaving the rooma nd I had to hoover holding her today as she screamed at the hoover! She has had afew bad night so I am thinking its teeth. I am keeping her dosed up on calpol as otherwise she wont eat, she wont allow the spoon anywhere near her mouth or throws any food you hand to her! Part of me feels sad for her then the pther part wonders where my quite happy little girl went I hope she gets better soon!

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 20:48

Just popping as internet is buggered.

Myjob - They are lovely pictures, N is indeed gorgeous.

Ronshar - Shouldn't be a problem! I can BW pretty much anytime! DS is doing really well back at school and reading is no longer an problem.

Rachie - He will get used to nursery, hard as it is at the moment, he won't remember it when he's older (or even next week!) and I am convinced that ds benefited from going to nursery as he got used to the socialisation element. He will be fine and so will you.

Star - Good news that the counseling is helping. Sometimes just having someone impartial to talk to helps you sort things out in your head.

Happy birthday Emma!

Pistachio - My brother was very clingy when he went to nursery but got over it eventually. She will start to enjoy it and won't mind being there on her own in no time.

Umm, umm..... Jenwa - Sinus pain is a bastard. I get sinusitis after pretty much every cold. Very painful indeed.

M has been being very brave trying to walk on her own. She is at that stage where she knows she can do it but is a bit scared about actually doing it.

Right, now to see if this actually works.........

Pistachio. Settling in a nursery is real hit and miss. DD2 was different every week. Some days no probs, other days a nightmare. It will all work out eventually.

Right I'm off to Boden to look for a jacket. Unless anyone else has any suggestions. (50ft)

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 21:41

Internet looks fixed!!!!

Ronshar - Jacket for whom?

ronshar · 16/09/2009 21:58

Me. Too late, I went for a boring Red cord jacket from Boden. Are there many childrens shops in BW? I am going to go to Hollister so be warned

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 22:05

There are two Baby Gaps, a Gap Kids, a Monsoon kids, The White Company, Mothercare, M&S, John Lewis, House of Frazer (yuck), Next, H&M kids, ummm...... I think they are the only places I go to. Oh and Boots have the and jack Molly and Jack range. You feel free to go into Hollister, I'll go into Starbucks and console myself with a huge slab of cake because I am too fat and old to go into Hollister!

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 22:07

WTF? What happened there? The Molly & Jack range.

ronshar · 16/09/2009 22:20

Brilliant.

Honeymoonmummy · 16/09/2009 22:25

Happy birthday Emma!

MyJob - congrats on N pulling herself up! I love your new pics!

Pistachio, had to laugh at the thought of you waiting in the nursery corridor indefinitely... I hope it goes better next time.

I hope P feels better soon Jenwa

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better Star, hang on in there, my doc said the AD's can make you MORE anxious/ stressed/ sleepless/ irritable before they settle down and make you better. You know where we are xx

Poppy has said "All gone" today... THREE TIMES!!! [proud mum emoticon]

I've been sorting out the photos finally too, prepare to be inundated on FB over the next week or so!!

I'm taking Poppy in to meet the nursery staff and vice versa today, I need to pick up some forms and I asked if we could pop in as she was only a few weeks old the last time we went. I can't wait actually. Puddleducks too tomorrow. Then on Friday I have an appt with the doc to review the AD's then a wedding in the afternoon/ evening. Busy busy!

Honeymoonmummy · 16/09/2009 22:25

I meant I'm taking Poppy to meet the nursery staff TOMORROW.

ronshar · 16/09/2009 22:29

HMM. I meant to say that it is completely acceptable to wear the same dress to both day/evening.Maybe have a little cardi shrug thing to take off for the evening.
Have a great time. Good luck with P meeting her new playmates tomorrow.

Honeymoonmummy · 16/09/2009 22:31

OMG who would buy this???? [HMM looks pointedly at MM]

Thanks Ronshar but I don't do sleeveless on account of my disgusting flabby arms

ronshar · 16/09/2009 22:33

HMM I think that one thing sums up why I didnt join NCT. Bollocks.

Honeymoonmummy · 16/09/2009 22:39

They do have some quite good stuff in the NCT catalogue, I have to say, but that ain't one of 'em! Some poor suckers will buy that because they don't know what else to wear! Grrr!

Honeymoonmummy · 16/09/2009 22:41

Oh did you all see the news about the Kanye West thing? And hear the clip of Barack calling him a jackass? I was rather amused...

I'm off to bed anyway, night all!

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 22:44

Bugger off Hmm! I had no labour with M so didn't need anything to wear and with ds I wore an xxxxl t-shirt from Burton. So ner! Off to look at the news now......

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 22:46

Argh! The 'message' on the inside of that dress thingy has made me feel a little nauseous!

Evening all. I'm totally out of touch but hope everyone's OK. Happy belated birthday to Emma, and sorry to hear about nursery traumas, Pistachio.

I need to read back and catch up, but am I right that you're thinking about a meet up on the weekend of 30th? I can't make it then - we're having a family get together at my parents' for my mum's 70th and my dad's 75th birthdays. This is always a bit of a manic time of year as almost everybody I know seems to have a birthday in the next couple of months.

I'm full of cold but am about to console myself with some homemade gooseberry crumble and custard.
