HMM - I've no idea who Mr Maker is either.

50ftQueenie · 11/09/2009 22:02

Hmm - It was something KSal and I were joking about earlier. We were saying that we had set goals for our dds that they should be able to walk by 12 months and it looks like neither will be able. So I was saying that I would have to start competence proceedings! And yes it is bad. Tut tut naughty girl.

50ftQueenie · 11/09/2009 22:06

Thank you on M's behalf Aubergenie. I have made the peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes and even my very sceptical mum (healthy cakes with vegetables in? No thank you!) loved them. I think I over-blended the peanuts as they started to stick a bit. CSWS's coconut cake was delicious. We are going to a housewarming party tomorrow and I was thinking of doing a cake to take along........

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2009 22:06

You'll find out who he is soon enough hmm.

Ds was unsettled during the evening yesterday, but then actually slept through!
Dd on the other hand was up at 5am, and walked down a flight of stairs and in to see me, rather than pick up her own duvet which had fallen off her bed, so I had to go up and pick it back up for her .

Period arrived today, so my mooncup is now properly dusted off!

Fingers crossed for next month for you aubergenie.

Hugs to you star. Agree that you should talk more to dh or leave the miserable git.

DD is actually scared of the Shapes on Mr Maker. Most bizarre, but they've been on several times as the DSs love it and she's traumatised every time so it's quite consistent!
myjob - J can't pull herself up, has no idea what to do with her feet if you hold her hands standing up, and has 2 solitary teeth... but she can throw a full on tantrum if she doesn't get her way - she's taken to crawling to the TV, kneeling up to thump pat it with one hand, and waving the other one behind to fend off the Ds's in case they try to stop her. Tis hilarious, she kind of keeps one eye looking over her shoulder in case of surprise attack...

50ftQueenie · 11/09/2009 22:09

Oh and this is Mr Maker. God love 'im.

ronshar · 11/09/2009 22:09

CSWS

pepperrabbit · 11/09/2009 22:09

CSWS - DS2 lies in bed shouting "my bed is broken" if the duvet falls off....

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2009 22:09

aubergenie - I've done the coconut cake with coconut icing a few times, and love it. I've also done the choc and peanut butter cupcakes, which were ok (I'm often disappointed by choc cake tbh) - the icing was v nice on them, and I've done the almond and apricot cake (I made it as one cake, friend has made it as individuals - that was yummy, but poss doesn't need quite as much almond essense.
I'm hoping to make the lemon and lavender cake sometime over the weekend.

ronshar · 11/09/2009 22:12

I forgot to say.
W has set a new record.
8 sleeps in a row. 8 I tell you. I have only had to go in and cover him up twice.(once when I woke him up by falling over the end of his cot while trying to put washing away in the dark)

I nearly feel like a new woman. Still look like shite.

pepperrabbit · 11/09/2009 22:12

at the concept of being disappointed by choc cake!

pepperrabbit · 11/09/2009 22:16

ronshar, I'm sure you look lovely! I dyed my hair last weekend, and have only just managed to exfoliate the brown streaks off my face . Note to self - put on glasses before 25 minute wait for dye to take...check face for splotches.
I looked either like I'd been duffed up, or a complete chav. Was a disappointing look.

ronshar · 11/09/2009 22:21

Pepper. I only trust my hairdresser with the dye. I have greys to be covered up. No job for an amature.
Nail varnish remover is good for dye removal. What colour have you gone for?

aubergenie · 11/09/2009 22:22

at My bed is broken Pepper.

We're going to visit some friends with a new baby tomorrow so I think I might make the coconut cake to take with us, as I've got all the ingredients in. That lavender one looks lovely too. Let me know how you get on with that CSWS.

I must go to bed. Night night.

ronshar · 11/09/2009 22:24

Night night.

pepperrabbit · 11/09/2009 22:27

I have a shocking amount of grey hair when au naturel, hence the dye... It;s called cappucino, one of the brand Davina McCall advertises. Tis a little bit darker than I expected, so I'm a tiny bit surprised every time I look in the mirror .
I love the way you all casually talk about making cakes - my average is one cake every 13 years - gods truth - though the 3 manky bananas may put paid to that.
Have to go to bed now - hope you get good nights sleep No 9 ronshar!

Myjob is it your B'day on Sunday? How old are you 21??

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2009 22:48

Err, just coincidence myjob, as I'd have had to have ovulated 2 weeks ago to get my period now!

Dd fell out of bed and screamed a bit and woke ds half an hour ago, and the poor thing has just been coughing and sneezing and moaning in his cot ever since. I want him to go back to sleep so that I can go to bed!

50ftQueenie · 11/09/2009 23:04

Myjob - I am not questioning you as you sound very knowledgeable but I thought that you could ovulate without having a period and this is why you should use contraception after pregnancy because you can get pregnant again before your periods return. Or am I getting that arse about head?

BertieBotts · 11/09/2009 23:20

Yes that is backwards MM - you ovulate (which you don't notice unless you are charting) and then 2 weeks later you have a period. So if you happen to have unprotected sex during that 2 week period then you can fertilise that egg, before the first period arrives, if that makes sense?

We are watching channel 4 too

50ftQueenie · 11/09/2009 23:28

Hmmmm...... In that case, what they tell you about still being able to get pregnant is essentially bollocks unless you are very unlucky and have unprotected sex the exact month things get going again.

BertieBotts · 11/09/2009 23:34

Yes pretty much! But it is a chance, and if you are having unprotected sex fairly regularly (hahahaha - sorry!) then it's likely you'd have sex within that 2-week period. And some people start their periods really early even if they are bfing so it's impossible to predict when you will ovulate, unless you chart etc.
