Woooooo found property to view! stupidly left car keys in OH car, so can't arrange viewing until he is home! Argh!

bodenaddict · 27/08/2009 14:22

great news soccerette glad u have got to new place safely good luck with viewing

hackneyzoo · 27/08/2009 15:53

Hooray Ray Glad you are shacked up with OH again, hope the viewing goes well.

Dog That's great news about Arlo and his speech development, you must be a proud Mummy, hooray! Bras in post tomorrow...haven't had time the last few days.

Enjoy Solfest Tree, am a huge Charlatans Fan and mahooosively of you.

EPPM We have also put the BLW on the back burner as all DS seems to do is choke and gag, albeit whilst enjoying smothering himself in veg. Am going to do a mixture from now on I think. But is hard to work out what to do as his skin is still flaring up with porridge, quinoa, baby rice, so am leaving them out. Going to try red lentil puree tonight.

120 Thank you for the nutrition book, it makes a lot of sense. Am going to try to use thier menu/food introduction plan. Hooray for potty success, go L. Think she needs to come over and give Lily a firm talking to about the benefits of potty training. We are on about the 6th change of clothes for the day, saying that, she just sat on the potty , unprompted and pooed for England...there is light at the end.... Have a lovely holiday and remeber ...visit Overstrand!

isittimefortea Who are you? Am being super dense and can't work it out Clues please...

Gumps Am liking the sound of POP, is there one in central/north/east london. Enjoy the dragon boating, used to love the DB races in HK.
Pat I'm feeling motivated by your swimming. Our local pool is a bit of a verucca hot spot though...might have to invest in a pair of sexy plastic socks. I need a new swimsuit too, any ideas where I can buy a cheapo one anyone? Preferably from the comfort of my arm chair...
Kitty Think it was you who was asking about feeding in the night. DS woke every three hours until he was five months. Then he slept through...and , unfortunately in the last week he is back to every 4 hours...boo hiss...oh for some solid sleep. I think its cos I was a smug pants with DD who slept 7-7 from 12 weeks onwards and has maybe woken in the night twice since then... no more sleeping smuggness for me
Lenni Your weekend plans sound good, as do everyone elses. DH is working Saturday so am going to take the dcs to the farmer's market. Then am off to Brighton for the night, solo (horay) for a good friend's 30th b'day...lots of people to catch up with and the chance to get a night off from being a mummy. I suspect Sunday will involve a hangover.
Hooray for all the stripes lovers round here, stripes rock.
DS saw the paed this morning. It is suspected Erb's Palsey, but not too bad as he has a good range of movement. He is being referred to physio. He has to have some neuro-electro tests to prove it is erbs, which don't sound too fun, they just run electricity up his fat little arm to look for nerve/muscle reaction. He has a stork mark on his forehead which could (very very rarely is) be linked to a neurological problem, so has to go for eye tests to rule that out. If they can't prove it Erb's and there are any unusual results fromt he eye tests he has to have an mri under general , buthopefully it won't come to that. Not 100% about the Erbs as there were symtoms at birht, but they disappeared at 2-5 months and only recently appeared again. Erb's Palsey Hopefully he will be ok, if it is EP, 1/3 recover fully, 1/3 make improvements, 1/3 stay the same. Its good to get the ball rolling and be taken seriously though. The pead was a bit , told him he has a home water birth and he told me he didn't believe in such births. But was positive about DS and said he was spot on developmentally and seemed bright and alert...and also weighd in at 21 lbs!

Am getting stuff for DCs room, thanks to the insurance company. The ceiling actually collapsed this morning...on to DD's very crappy bed (I didn't leave it there on purpose...honest ) So have taken the liberty of ordering these beds from ebay, got them for 220 with mattresses, delivered...bargain! Now I need some new bedding, am after the hippo duvet covers from Ikea but they are discontinued...so if anyone is in Ikea and spots some in the bargain bin....

Sorry for the mammoth post...lots has been going on, albeit mostly not very interesting!

Errr Hz, have you turned into moose???

Glad to hear it was mostly positive about DS at the paeds, although very at the comment on HWB, like its a cult or something that you have to believe in???! Swimsuit wise mine is from Sainsburys TU range, and it is a Tankini as I don't like one pieces but CANNOT brave a bikini anymore. Sainsbos had some great stuff and probably most of it in the sale now. Beds look great, i am off to Ikea soon for some chest of drawers so will check out the bargain bin for you. tea is probably going soon as I know she Loooooooooooves all Ikea! Your weekend sounds fab, especially the child-free party, say hello to Brighton for me [homesick].

Soccer....woo-hoo for house, hope its a good one. Wee now have 3 weeks left to sort stuff out, Eeeek!

Boden, I LOVE Paultons Park, went there loads as a child and taken DD there twice. It is so great for little ones, I'm so .

News- I love the Charlatans too so double at you! Have a fab time and hope your playdate today was good.

We have had a bizarre day today. I met a group of friends at welly boot land for a picnic and this morning another friend phoned who I have not seen for a while so she came along too. Anyway, we happened to park ourselves next to a friend from playgroup (who I didn't know was going to be there but randomly was!) and then DD came running over to tell me that another friend from playgroup was also there on a day out! We had a fab time and then walked up to the playpark where we saw yet another friend of DD's that she had not seen since she left the childminder. DD thought the whole thing was great and it was good to see everyone before school starts again on tuesday.

Oh, and almost forgot that I was spotted by another MNer from the gloucester thread too. The world and his wife were there today!!!

PatTheHammer · 27/08/2009 19:09

Oh no Dog, x-posts sorry!

tell us later, sounds a shocker, hope everything ok

LenniAgain · 27/08/2009 19:52

Dog You ok? Breathe and then type - both very soothing ime. If it's any help I had a shocker today too. DD screamed her way round the park and so dropped her off with ILs while I went to supermarket and DS then screamed round tesco.

DS been really unsettled today, totally out of character, fussy and clingy. Period started tonight, do you think the two could be linked? Or do I sound a total weirdo for thinking they could be?

hackneyzoo · 27/08/2009 20:00

Dog Arghhh! hate it when everything goes wrong all at once. Sounds liek a bugger of a day. Get them kids to bed and get on MN with a glass of soothing wine/pimms/large bar of g&B

Lenni I completely think the two are linked, the DCs totally pick up on how you are feeling and tend to mimick it subconsciously...I notice this with the kids I teach at school sometimes too. Especially if you are tired and premenstral, I swear they have a magic sensor and act as if they have PMT too.

Pat Will have a look in sainbos, thanks for the tip. Still don't get who Tea is..... doe sshe have three DCs? Sounds like a great day out too, are you sure you're not being stalked en mass?

120cms · 27/08/2009 20:05

dog and lenni, sorry you both had awful days. lenni, period definitely affects DS as I think the milk changes. He is more clingy and grumpy too. Maybe just getting his own back for later when women get to be clingy and grumpy when they are on. I think they are all little mirrors for our moods and I certainly no saint when I've got mine.

HZ, love the beds.

been a mecca day here, did an impromptu lunch for 10 mums and kids, then the same for supper, so all done in. just want to drink my beer in peace and think about packing for tomorrow as we have to leave by 11. So I'll probably be on here all night now .

LenniAgain · 27/08/2009 20:06

HZ - Tea loves reading and owns lots of reading material...

120cms · 27/08/2009 20:07

HZ was also going to say that DD was a baby scientist and did an MRI scan when he was four months old. stayed in the tube for 30 mins during nap without moving. They swaddled him really well though.

furrymonster · 27/08/2009 20:33

Hia ladies, apologies for totally selfish post but am trying not to freak out completely.

When I got pregnant, Both myself and DH had work. For the last year, DH's work has really dried up so we have been having help from benefits. Got a letter today saying that we have been over paid and they want ALL of it back, meaning that we wern't entitled to anything at all the whole time. It adds up to almost £7000.

We can't afford rent thats due in a few days.

DH could have been getting income support or something similar for the last few weeks but never bothered to sort it out. If he had have done we would have been entitled to housing.

He is going to try and sort it out tomorrow. I can't go as am at shrink to talk about PND.

Am so wobbly, angry, scared, worried.

Sorry for rant.

(note to DM person, if you are reading this, don't you dare print it!!!!!)

LenniAgain · 27/08/2009 20:40

£7000 shit. That's really awful. Surely they can't expect you to pay that back just like that. Do you have any family you could ask to help with the rent while you sort out housing and income support?

Hope you are okay. And hope tomorrow goes ok too.

hackneyzoo · 27/08/2009 20:47

D'oh...I am so thick...ok...I get it now, Tea...I know who you are!

Furry I'm sorry you are freaking out. DH and I had a similar situation last year, they had over paid us by 1600, despite me phoning the tax credit people about three times to say I thought they had got it wrong, the result is that we won't be getting any actual child benefit for a while.
They didn't make us pay it back in a lump or anything, they just take it out of benefits you would otherwise be paid IYSWIM. Is it tax credits they have overpaid? speak to them, they often get it completely arse over tit. Speak to the benefits people and explain the situation calmly and clearly, maybe write it all down, including what you have recieved and what you were earning at the time etc. If DH is on the case tomorrow and sorts out where he stands they might look at things differently as they can't rinse you for money you don't have. Sorry if that response was long and rambling, it was meant to be reassuring
I think I would feel angry, wobbly and worried and scared too. Talk to the Doc tomorrow, don't apologise for ranting, and I hope you feel calmer and better.

newspaperdelivery · 27/08/2009 20:51

Furry - there might b e a mistake. If you haven't got it, they can't take it. Let them figure out the maths of that. Poor you!

Dog, hope you are ok??

Am at end of tether here! one asleep I think, one to go. So much to do and a huge day today. It was really really fab though, but 10-6 so tired out and a long eve of packing, tidying and sorting ahead. In between H's screams. Argh! So nice to have a day out with other people though and they are lovely ladies so

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 27/08/2009 20:57

I've namechanged! Tried to get Lenni in there somewhere but EyelennirOfTheTiger just didn't work...

Am bored stupid already and DH only gone 12 hours so far... 5 days to go.

Off to wash up, make lunch for tomorrow and get an early night.

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 27/08/2009 20:58

Can I be Tiger for short please? DD's favourite animal! DH has one tattooed on his forearm for her! Madness.

furrymonster · 27/08/2009 21:03

I really think they have made a mistake. It was housing and council tax benefit.

I just hope DH stands up for himself, he is just too nice sometimes. Not that I think he should be rude, just firm!

I'm hoping he will qualify tomorrow for something and then be entitled to housing etc, then rent will be ok. Landlord does't mind if it's late and is very understanding.

If it does end up that we have to pay it back bit by bit I can handle that, although I will be contesting it, But if we lost our house it would break my heart.

furrymonster · 27/08/2009 21:09

I'm sorry to rant and run but am gonna pop off. I'm so frazzled and knackered. DH is on his way home from work so am gonna say hi to him then work out a plan for tomorrow, then go to bed.

Thanks for all the support, I will catch up tomorrow.

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 27/08/2009 21:50

Came back to see if Dog is okay???????

Hope you get a good night Furry and DH works things out.

Tree Have you got both of yours in bed yet? Fantastic that you've found people you mesh with.

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 27/08/2009 22:08

Where are you all??? I'll talk to myself a while.

Ho hum.

Lalalalalalala.

Sod it, I'll go to bed.

newspaperdelivery · 27/08/2009 22:08

Ok - all asleep! Phew.
DH has gone to get camping provisions. I am starting to feel a bit more like it, 2 cups of tea and some paracetamol later.

So will be o ff hunting out water carriers and torches! Bugger. Wish we were organised and the car wasn;t full of crap!

It is really nice to have some people to chat to. Really nice! [smile

Big squeeze to dog.

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 27/08/2009 22:10
