Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Tam how lovely to hear from you! Fab news on the pregnancy, a little boy Come back and chat soon.

TMAM i am not brill He is gone. I seem to cry at everything.

Am uploading pics of the Mum of the Year picnic.

SKYTVADDICT · 11/06/2009 22:54

Big hugs LG&T x

Photos look fab

Where is everyone else?

Tillyscoutsmum · 12/06/2009 08:26

Lovely pics Gin. What a beautiful little clan you have there . So sorry you're feeling down (((((()))))).

I have my reunion tomorrow . Has anyone else had a hormonal rash when pg ?? I might start a thread somewhere. I know its hormonal because I get it for a day or 2 (though to a lesser extent) when I'm pre-menstrual. Its like a red, slightly scaly rash all around my mouth and chin. Its hideous and really getting me down . Sorry - I know its trivial

I've changed Til's pre-school. There are two in the village and one is renowned to be better that the other but they were fully booked so I had to take her to the other one. I went with her a couple of times and really wasn't keen. The staff just seemed a little bit "cold" iyswim and all the "spirited" children seemed to be ignored a bit (and no doubt about it, Til would definitely be in that category !). Anyway, I kept chasing the other one and have now managed to get a place for September so I am MUCH happier

Til had me in tears yesterday. She was so naughty. I had to abandon shopping in Sainsbury and take her little tantrumming arse out of there. I'm really struggling with her at the moment. She is either unbelievably cute or just an utter monster. She just totally ignores me unless I get really cross, then she just goes into total meltdown. I'm going to be so shit at having two

Sorry - that ended up being a bit of a self indulgent moan

Pinkjenny · 12/06/2009 10:32

Tils - no advice on the rash unfortunately, but A is definitely in that stage too, it's f*cking horrendous. I just try to ignore her and leave the room to silently bang my head against the wall. We will not be shit at having two, we will be serene and wonderful.

Pinkjenny · 12/06/2009 10:33

LG&T - is the 'loveable rogue' B or H? I can't tell. Beautiful hair. Whichever it is, I would like to reserve them as A's future husband. The grandchildren would be divine.

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2009 10:39

Did you know that in her lifetime the average woman will swallow 4lbs of lipstick. That's true you know.

Not me. I'm not coloured in. Can't polish a... well you know.

MmeJaffaB · 12/06/2009 11:56

Not me neiver....... 4lb a week of wine and chocolate is more like it here!

Did you also know that the French infact say comme ça, comme si? well round here anyway! I'm sure the "saying" we learnt was comme si, comme ça!

MmeJaffaB · 12/06/2009 12:30

or is it ci?

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2009 13:27

Yes, comme ci comme ca was what they taught us. With a nonchalant shrug. Whilst wearing onions round our necks.

How's your dn Mme?

In Britain alone 400 men are taken to casualty each year following accidents involving the putting on or taking off of trousers.

MmeJaffaB · 12/06/2009 15:10

She's doing Ok thanks for asking. She has had another massive dose of chemo to wipe EVERYTHING out. She's been in isolation for 8 weeks so is bored stiff, the operation was a sucesss so far and the last scan revieled NO cancer, she will need a bone marrow transplant next we believe. Sadly we didn't get to see her in May because of the isolation. We all know though that this posotive response is fairly normal at this stage, sadly with this cancer it seems to be keeping it away for long enough that counts. Still she fights, and fights.

The Hawaiian alphabet only contains 12 letters and every word ends in a vowel.

Pinkjenny · 12/06/2009 16:07

That's brilliant Mme JB.

An ostrich can disembowel you with one forward kick.

MmeJaffaB · 12/06/2009 17:02

So can I on a bad day!

Themasterandmargaritas · 12/06/2009 17:45

She is such a fighter, let her fight on!

LG&T. He'll be back before you know it. Not long until I can come and cheer you up.

Tils, good luck with the reunion. You will knock 'em dead. The whole behaviour thing goes in waves. I'm sure Tilly knows you are not feeling like your 'normal' self and can get a reaction out of you. Your hormones are possibly making you more impatient than normal. I am much calmer and enjoying J much more than I did with the other two at the same age. Probably because I am not pregnant. You moan away, don't apologise for it, we don't mind at all.

The loveable rogue is H and he is mine.

Your fingernails grow 4 times faster than your toenails.

AprilMeadow · 12/06/2009 17:57

Thanks for the useful info snippits SOH.

Good news about your niece MrsJB

Have a great time Tils, and hope the rash clears up.

In Newcastle for the weekend at the Touring Cars at Croft. Fingers crossed for good weather and good luck for our boys.

MmeJaffaB · 12/06/2009 19:18

Go team n'd sunshine!!!! did you see what I did there? ha hah did ya, did ya?

largeginandtonic · 12/06/2009 19:24

Did none of you see Beau's birthday cake on those pics...

Tills it sounds like she is hitting what B has been well and truly sat in since Easter. I have been dragging B round the shop's with Indie tucked under my arm and H (not always so cute) running off or kicking stuff (he has hit his age 4 testosterone surge that has turned him in to a BOY with the urge to beat up and destroy everything)It's fun.

I too have had the weird rash thingy, i had it round my eyes. Was terrible, i stopped using all toiletries for a while. I think that helped. You poor thing. It will be great tomorrow! Have fun.

MrsJB good news on your niece bless her.

AM how are you feeling? Is Sunday ok for the meet?

I have no useful hints other than did you know it does not matter how much you cry your tears do not run out

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2009 20:51

Those pictures! Hugs is such a stunner. I like the look of dd1's outfit too- and is she hugging ds3 in that pic? Last time I saw them in the flesh ds3 was mid rage and hitting dd1 with a piece of train track. Bravo for the cake. Pigs are they?

Tomorrow I will mostly be getting my nose pierced and dyeing my hair purple. It's a midlife crisis. Or I haven't eaten gingerbread for about a month and I'm in withdrawal.

Update me somebody. I keep trying to read through but dh will insist on having a conversation with me. Honestly, he should shut up and practice putting on his trousers.

What's new?

largeginandtonic · 12/06/2009 21:34

Not a lot i don't think.

Pebble, Lups and Cinnamon appeared again

AM looks fab on her new FB pics.

I am not a good person to ask, my brain is fluff.

How are you? Tilda reading yet? Is super cop getting a bit more time off?

largeginandtonic · 12/06/2009 21:42

Look at this hat!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 12/06/2009 21:49

Awwww - cute hat

I've just put a post on baby names if anyone is really bored

Thanks all for reassurance that I'm not alone with terrible twos (of course I know I'm not, but its nice to hear sometimes). I am definitely less patient than normal She's just normally so happy and content and she just seems really grumpy and miserable the last few days. Its not like her at all

Anyhoo

The Peppa cake was fab. I got a mention in the round up for my comments on the Peppa thread. I've clearly found my "level" on mn

MMeJB - good news about your dn

Hello SOH - glad you're back. DH is now watching Dauphine Libere. Yawwwwwnnnnn. We're on countdown to the TDF

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2009 22:39

MmeJb, I'm glad she responded to the treatment, that's the first hurdle. I hope to any available God that she continues to respond. She's a strong and brave little girl.

Til, DH bought the official 2009 TDF guide today. He keeps reading bits of it to me. I've perfected a 'hmm lovely' response. Occasional 'did he do that on his bike did he, how novel' and smattering of 'carbonfibre you say, what larks'.

Please buy that hat Tonic. It's fabulous. Tild's fine. Can read short novels and composes short songs on her mini grand. Nah, she's fab, learnt the art of dissembling but isn't so good at it. So she will march up to you an announce 'I have not poured lemon on the carpet' or 'I am not needing to wee', all accompanied with a cheeky grin. She has a couple of imaginary friends too. Alex, who is a boy and goes to school to read books all day. He is not a giant you know, just a real boy. He's tired when he comes home and goes to bed early. Then there's the elephant that lives outside in the big tree and is too big to come inside and eats gravel for lunch. She told the hv all of this at her 2yr check. I'm waiting for some regulatory body to come round and check we're not feeding her hallucinogenics. I do so love her, despite me muddling through day to day, she's a smasher.

Super Cop's fine. Working stupid hours still but happy.

I've got to go on a hen night in two weeks and am falling apart at the very idea. Very, very good friend. I love her, truly. But a karaoke bar? Good Lord.

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2009 22:44

Oh oh oh, forgot. LG&T, the fun we are going to have in July. This'll cheer you. Conversation in the car the other day...

Me: Why is my stomach so horrid still?

DH: You had a baby

Me: LG&T has had 27 babies and looks fabulous. It's no excuse

DH: That's true

Me: You think she looks fabulous?

DH: God yes, she's had 27 children and doesn't look like she's had 1

Me: Can I tell her you have a crush on her?

DH: [mortified] No. I didn't mean that

Me: Oh I'm so telling her that. July's going to be a hoot

DH: crying

He's so embarrassed. Let's milk it.

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2009 22:46

Tils, does she have all her teeth?

elkiedee · 12/06/2009 23:33

Congratulations to Cinnamontam - hope we'll hear from you with a birth announcement!

Wow at 26 weeks already to AM

Glad it's not just me with the tantrums - D is quite monstrous but so sweet and then monstrous again - he goes to the different extremes soooo quickly it's scary.

AbbyLou · 13/06/2009 07:14

Morning all. i am up at a crazy hour on a Saturday because I am off on a 12 mile walk today with some work friends in aid of breast cancer charities. I am so scared. I have never walked that far before and apparently it's quite a challenging walk. It's around the Dovedale area of Derbyshire so should be beautiful but I can't help feeling a little apprehensive. Hey ho, off we go.....
