I love those hats Moose, more like caps. They would look cool as on.

I'm off to solfest. Looks ace. I have full on respect for any festival that has a 'babybus' for feeding and naps and a tent for crashing in safety if you have..........er.............er...well.......relived your youth in the dance tent and realised only 18 year olds can do that really. If you see what I mean.

Also they brew their own cider for the event. Now thats how to thow a party. Charletans headlining so can relive a levels.

So the upshot of that is bubba will have to have some tie dye washable nappies and funky clothes throughout. Mum will need wellies and attempt to get nose stud back in.

Sigh. You can't go back.

rrrayray · 16/05/2009 21:04

tree I'm part stashing part giving it to her. She has a bottle of Expressed milk at 5pm (given by her Daddy ) to start tanking her up for the evening, so my boobs are both full for her 6.30pm feed when she gets out of the bath, and the other 1/2 of what i express is going in the freezer for when i have to leave her for 24 hours for this wedding i'm going to in 3 weeks! Not looking forwards to leaving her! :-(

Esme has always been a sleepy little thing. Luckily we have generated the sleep primarily to night time now. But she still has around 3 hours worth of naps in the day time. 1/2 an hour at 9am, 1 1/2 hours at noon, and about 40 mins in the afternoon about 4.30pm to ensure she can get through her bath without getting cranky.

Talking of Cranky and sleepy- I'm shattered. So many visitors and stuff today. Zzzzz

treedelivery · 16/05/2009 21:09

It all works so well - that's ace!

Blimey, Hatts has no routine at all. I never know when she will sleep, how long for, or anything really.

Am starting to wish I did though.

I left my dd1 when she was 4 months, for 2 nights [in fairness dh and I got pregnant when we met early in our relationship so needed time away to get to know each other have a break!

Wasn't easy but got easier as the weekend went on. Was soooo good to come home to a baby though. Bliss. Beats a pile of post on the door mat

moosemama · 16/05/2009 21:21

Tree we looked into solfest but decided we can't afford it, as we would have to put the dogs in kennels for the weekend which really puts the price up for us.

We are hoping to get to bomfest though, just for the evening as Back to the Planet and Senser were big on the festival scene way back when we were weekend warriors. Eee things were different in them days, festivals were free, sunny and full of luvved up hippies like us .

moosemama · 16/05/2009 21:26

Make that - would have to put the dogs in kennels for 7 days as they won't take shorter bookings during the busy summer period. Honestly my brain!

treedelivery · 16/05/2009 22:11

OMG Back to the planet....Senser....

moosemama · 16/05/2009 22:35

I blame the turtles!

Eugh MD 20/20! What must it have done to our insides - turned your wee an interesting colour too as I remember!

Senser is on our regular playlist round here - saw them tonnes of time live at various festys back in the day - in fact I saw them at the Cambridge Strawberry Fair last June.

Also have a strong affection for Citizen Fish and Culture Shock and the like.

treedelivery · 16/05/2009 22:43

Oh God I feel old and sad. May as well start listening to Daniel O'Donnel and just give in.
I grew up in Bradford where everyone had alternative music sense. Even my gran liked New Model Army.

Will run off and tie dye some envelope vests for festical going antics

moosemama · 16/05/2009 22:49

Nah not Daniel O'Donnel - Christy Moore! He transcends age groups. Reeeespect! Actually, we are gutted as we have just found out tonight that we have missed getting tickets for Christy's only Birmingham tour date this year.

Btw, susumama have some fantastic festy clothes for kids and growd-ups!

moosemama · 16/05/2009 23:16

hello. it feels like its been awhile especially with all the posts. i managed to get through them all and now i am totally shattered. i've been busy getting the garden ready for soil tuesday. been outside for 2, 3 hour stints while DD is sleeping. she is eating with vigor. loves everything. her favorite is sweet potato but she'll gnaw on a big chunk of banana. she eats a tbsp of rice cereal and a tbsp of fruit (breakfast) or veg (dinner). so far she has had sweet potato, broccoli, mango, banana, blueberries, strawberries and kiwis. she still BF about 6 times a day. we've been working on potty training as well and it is going ok. she sits on it fine and pees when prompted now. her poo's are solid now too so she grunts a bit more and i can get her to the potty before she goes. its all very cute. we are starting signing next week. i've seen loads of kids who do this and it is great for them being able to communicate and for us to understand them. i noticed today that she is cutting her second tooth too! who else has teeth coming in?

we went for mother's day dinner to my favorite restaurant and DD was such a charm. she didn't fuss once. we had early reservation, 5.30, and were home by 7.30, and DD was in bed by 8 and DH and i were crashed on the couch watching the season finale of Lost. all good.

have a great sunday everyone.

sparkleandshine · 17/05/2009 06:55

oh well back to waking twice a night....

miss j - glad to hear the move went well

chef - nice to have a night out isn't it especially with lo when they're good.

sparkleandshine · 17/05/2009 07:05

StercusAccidit if you're reading, hope everything is ok with you.

hongkongzoe · 17/05/2009 09:52

tree at going to see the Charlatans... saw them loads in my grungy/crusty/britpop days. Am feeling rathyer old at the moment too. Saint Etienne were playing near us last night, i really wanted to go and listening to a couple of albums took me right back to revising for my a levels.
We went to thre Green Man festival last year in the Brecon beacons, the scenary was absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately it pissed down so i refused to camp and we checked into a b and b, the thought of getting up to pee twice a night and gaving to trudge across a windswept muddy dark field was too much!

Going out to see a friends band tonight, escape from my children, can't wait!

juleswastink · 17/05/2009 10:17

hi we had a great time yest food and cinema great

PatTheHammer · 17/05/2009 10:34

at Mad-dog 20/20 turning your wee a funny colour-thought that was just me!

at all these festival mentions, takes me back to the glory days of Glastonbury and Reading............sigh! DH not much of a camper so we have also booked a B&B whilst attending V festival (in fairness I did also have a broken ankle at the time). Ho-hum, maybe in about 10 years time we'll be the old crusties sat around the camp-fire reliving our lost youth.....
We quite fancied Whychwood this year cos Cheltenham racecourse only 10 min stroll from the IL's, think we may go next year though as we are skint. Anyone else ever been?

Chef- at the potty training? How Old is Violet? I had heard some people trained babies early but thought it was just a myth as never actually spoke to anyone who had done it! Well, fair-play to you, save you a fortune on washing/buying nappies for the next few years

Oh and chortle, chortle, chortle at the 'young and gorgeous' Miss J. you must have been looking at the pre-children photos!!!!! The best comment ever was when I used my wedding photo as my profile picture and a friend who i had only known since being P.G with DD looked at it and said 'That's such a gorgeous photo of you......It doesn't even look like you'!!! . in fairness to her I was a size 8/10 when got married and have been a big 12 or 14 or up the stick ever since . Just for the record though I am v.pleased at the 'young' bit, i turn 30 in november and am starting to feel a right old bag after thinking myself quite a young mum with DD. Anyway, you guys are all absolute babes!

Ray at your parents living in Hurst! My parents lived in Albourne and moved last winter. Lovely area, they lived there for about 6 years (moved from the cess-pit that is Littlehampton where I grew up!). I particularly liked the pub in Hurst (New Inn??) and The Bull in Henfield does a mean pizza! That little farm place just outside Hurst is fab for kids as well, took DD there when she was 18 months and she loved the sand-pit and animals, Esme will love it!

Lovely day yesterday, had luch at my sisters then popped to my friends for the afternoon (got burnt in her garden . Then my bro and SIL and their little bubba came over to mums for a thai curry and few glasses wine. Shamefully, we also watched Eurovision. Oh, didn't get a bloody bath in the end (no hot water-can you believe it!) and then a crap night with Zach awake lots. Family BBQ today should be fun!

PatTheHammer · 17/05/2009 10:37

Disclaimer: Pat the hammer does in no way think mums over 30 are old bags, just a personal reflection on the general state of herself and her post-baby wrinkles, bags and flab!!!!

moosemama · 17/05/2009 12:27

Morning,

Pat, I am 40 next year and am sure I can actually see everything sliding and wrinkles appearing every time I look in the mirror. You've years and years and years on me - am quite sure you are a stunner. I have also just found out I am going to become a Great Aunt for the second time GREAT AUNT! Now that makes me sound ancient!

We never did the Glasty type thing, we are so old that festy's were free back in our day. We would go to more festys these days, but kennelling the dogs always causes us a problem and our regular dog sitter has had a baby and can't do it anymore. (Most inconsiderate of her - especially as she is also the one that keeps making me a Great Aunt!)

Hope the weather holds out for your BBQ.

Glad you had a good time yesterday Tink.

Chef you are so on the ball and organised with dd, I was like that with DS1 but have completely lost the plot since then. Don't think I could manage the early potty training, its always far to chaotic round here to catch her in time. My MIL did it with my SIL though and she was dry at 10 months. I'm looking forward to weaning dd as it encourages me to do a lot more cooking from scratch and I love watching their reactions to different tastes and textures. Think I am going to do a mix of baby led and purees, mainly baby led with the odd bit of mashed food for when it would be inconvenient for her to get really messy.

Lennied glad your day went well.

Well dd has got a horrible cold and is really struggling to breathe at night but seems happy enough in herself during the day and is still in good voice!

We woke up to find a huge branch across our car this morning. Wouldn't be surprising as our drive is under a huge oak tree, but the branch is not from any of the trees around here. Fortunately it doesn't seem to have done any damage but am a bit about who could've put it there. I am probably being paranoid as I don't think we have upset anyone, am thinking it was probably teenagers on their way back from the park where they like to hang out on Saturday nights (probably drinking the modern equivalent to MD20/20). Fortunately the teenagers around here aren't rough or scary, more rich and spoilt!

treedelivery · 17/05/2009 16:31

Moose [shock[ at the tree on branch incident. Little Bugger! Really glad it hasn't done ant damage. My dd has had th esnots on and off for a week - she had a very hard cough a few nights ago. Rang NHD direct as usual and everytihng!

Everone else seems to be having a good weeked - hope you are recovered LenniEd.

Today I slept till noon - hurrah! Then have sorted out wardrobe [nearly, all old stuff, stuff cant feed in/stuff can't fit in] is in a big pile on floor. It will slowly ede its way downstairs and out over the next month or so. Am such a sloth. I have made bannana cake adn pot and leek soup however, so that is an improvement on my usual inertia. DD1 even tried a bit - she always help make the food but never eats anything but chips, scrambled eggs and tomato sauce. And Rachels greek yogurt with honey. Yum.

Whilst in wardrobe I realised I have more pj's than trousers and jeans. Now what does that tell you?

treedelivery · 17/05/2009 16:53
moosemama · 17/05/2009 17:04

hurrah for sleeping H! Long may it last.

Elizabeth is currently enjoying the electronic baby sitter in the shape of the Tellytubbies on the catch up tv.

Having been held all day due to cold generated grumps and neediness, Mummy decided she really did need to go to the toilet and have a wash. Have left her there though as it seems to have captured her attention, although she prefers the bit with the children in to the actual Teletubbies.

ps I also have more pjs than clothes, partly due to everyone buying me pjs for christmas - unfortunately none of them will stay up now as they all bought preggy sizes!

treedelivery · 17/05/2009 17:20

She's snuffling and coughing - lets se what happens...................

Moose - I put her in amby as I needed the loo too!

treedelivery · 17/05/2009 17:29

Up and pissed off. 33 mins - not bad!
