So here's a new thread so we stop annoying the non-croydoners with our wittering on the normal thread!

The options that have been put forward are:

a) starbucks on A23 Good for those driving round M25 who don't want to drive into croydon.
b) wacky warehouse at the gipsy moth pub on the purley way. Good for toddlers and those who want to stay for lunch. Not so good for those who don't want to drive too much. Hopefully accessible on public transport
c) queens park in caterham. Great for a sunny day and picnic, might not be good for those on public transport, depending on where they're coming from.
d) a place that's easy on public transport, accessible from the M25, serves coffee...please suggest coz I'm sure there must be a million other places to go in Croydon!

Discuss!

ps, date is wednesday 13th May, we don't have long!

Well just rang the Gipsy Moth and asked if they still had their play area, and he told me that it closed down 2 years ago! So think that one is out..

The Starbucks on the A23 is right by a bus stop for the 405 from Croydon so is accessible, not sure how long it would take to get there. Easy for anyone driving.

Haven't found out where Queens Park is yet, though if it's Caterham on the Hill, maybe the 466 goes nearby. No idea what the weather is meant to be.

I feel rubbish I haven't come up with any idea as I live here, but spend my days at children's centres etc, or in various parks.. I'll rack my brains....

Oh no!!! But good work on thinking to phone!
Feel free to suggest a park splish, especially if you know any with coffee shops nearby!
Queens park is caterham on the hill but that's quite far out from croydon...don't know where people are coming from...

OK- so who is actually coming? Where from and by what mode of transport? Maybe that'll help us make some sort of decision! Also, what sort of time?

I've got an appointment in central Croydon 10 til 11ish

CarrieBo · 09/05/2009 19:56

you, me, notcitrus, hopefully, debi....?

Sounds like we should meet you in central croydon! Oh but my mum thinks we'll get stabbed...

I could get to Purley Way or Caterham no problem (public tranport from Streatham).
The Starbucks would be a 45 min bus ride from central Croydon but is quite near Coulsdon South so I could do it via train.

But central Croydon easiest (15 min by bus).

splishsplosh · 10/05/2009 13:37

There's a Starbucks in Centrale shopping centre that's reasonably big - the only down side is the proimity of some lifts and escalators - is your dd likely to be attracted to them Carrie? Then if anyone wants more tan coffee / cake / sandwich there are other nearby options. Think stabbing not too likely, as long as gone by school coming out time

Hopefully didn't seem too sure about driving in- I looked at things on Purley Way, which is easily accessible if driving, as well as by bus or tram, but there isn't a great range - well some people rave about the Ikea cafe, but I'm not so sure....

CarrieBo · 10/05/2009 19:10

Starbucks in centrale suits me fine. And if we're meeting around lunchtime then I'll bring a packed lunch and lots of jigsaws for dd!
splish what time can you get there after your appt?

OP posts:
notcitrus · 10/05/2009 21:24

Centrale fine by me.

splishsplosh · 11/05/2009 11:20

Shall we meet at 12, or maybe just before to beat any lunch time rush?

I'll probably have dd1 with me, amaclaren buggy if so, and dd2 in a grey and orange wrap sling. The Starbucks is on the upper mall right by the lifts.

Sorry for all the typos in last post - I'm sure that there is baby sick wodged down between keys as they all keep getting stuck

CarrieBo · 11/05/2009 13:52

fab, lets say 11:45ish. I'll have a red phil&teds buggy, a very curly haired dd and a bald ds!
