Glad other people have been having a good day today. I thought it was going to be a nightmare of exhausted overwrought kids returning to school but all of my 3 have been so good and not whingeing or wailing that I think I may have stepped into a parallel universe.

Have been v productive: serviced my man, got fryup brunch to celebrate as we were so pleased with ourselves, DH out for rest of day so I collected DS1 and made him to come to baby weigh-in (60min wait and he was better behaved than a regular 4yr old), took DD to new swim lesson and both boys waited beautifully again, cooked trout fillets, potato salad, flapjacks and invented a massive microwaved cheese souffle just for me.

BTW Kurt is a massive 10K (22 1/2lb.) HV did ask if I was considering reducing his feeds soon LOL. But I swear it's all muscle like his brother, he jumped 2 centile lines when he started moving, so efficient was the metabolism.

CaptainCaveman · 20/04/2009 20:14

For anyone of you really - do you think I'm odd to be crying for my friend's loss? Am just so incredibly sad about how much pain she is in right now . It's just bloody awful.

poppysocks · 20/04/2009 20:18

Hope all has gone well with the Dr's appointment this evening steaky and the later bedtime means greater calm all round.

How's the chickenpox CC? Still waiting to see whether mine have taken to the germs. I suspect not . Would be rather useful if they did though as it will require a full fortnight off work/nursery once I'm back at work so best to get it over and done with now.

Hope the little dicky bird is learning to stay put/fly now miamla and the cat is liberated.

Yay for all the good days and calm children buckets and sazzles.

Gorgeous weather here which somehow makes everything feel more positive. Plus DD1 was at nursery all day now that she gets here pre-school funding. A whole day with my gorgeous baby. Bliss!

Had DD2 weighed and she's finally back to the 25th centile. Yay! In contrast to Kurt, she's up to the giddy heights of 17lb 5oz. Stopped worrying now though that she's no relying on me and my rubbish milk and loves her real food.

Have uploaded a couple of pics of my girls for anyone feeling nosy. Won't be there for long though...

PetitFilou1 · 20/04/2009 20:23

cc Of course you are not odd to be crying for your friend's loss. It shows you are very close. I think you should tell her to come on here. Mcs are so common and yet no-one talks about them. However I have four friends who've had two mcs each - including one who had a molar pregnancy which was really horrible and left her unable ttc for six months in case she ended up with cancer.

On a lighter note, buckets I don't know anyone who has a sex life like yours. I am in awe of it . I'm lucky if it is once a week let alone once a day which it seems to be in your house!

Toby still has diarrhoea however is is usual chirpy self despite not eating. I think it must be due to incoming teeth. steaky I think this is maybe what your inlaws meant about 'spots on their bottom' ie nappy rash??? NHS Direct of course told me to go to A&E (sigh) - I would have been laughed out of the place .....

cyteen · 20/04/2009 20:53

Aw poppy the minisocks are gorgeous

CC not odd at all, it's horrible news and you must feel quite helpless A friend of mine had two mcs one after the other; she doesn't talk about it much but I know it was relentlessly grim. However, she now has the most adorable baby girl so I really hope your friend has a similarly happy ending to her story.

I'm also in awe of the *Buckets' love machine Things are looking up in that department chez cyteen though so consider yourself leading by example!

Great news on nap-happy Izzy Steak. She's certainly stolen Joe's naps - after a brilliant start to last week when he was going for over an hour at a time in his cot, he's back to his old sleep-resistant self. Today he must have managed all of 1.5 hours Massively overtired at bedtime as a result, ho hum. I anticipate wake-ups.

LoveBuckets · 20/04/2009 21:07

Oh it's not all shag shag shag here. In fact it hadn't been for a couple of weeks til this weekend - looking back this was clearly to do with DH's antidepressants not being high enough. And of course we were both wondering why every Monday wasn't like this, now he is going back to regular hours with his new job. 2 severely slapped foreheads LOL.

I'm off to stalk an ex who I've just become FB friends with (well stalk his twin brother actually as me falling for him was the cause of the split.)

TwilightSurfer · 20/04/2009 21:11

Captain tell your friend she is the most fertile of her life RIGHT NOW!! Be sad but be glad nature has blessed her. She may not understand that yet but I have Reese as proof of that statement. If she's had natural pregnancies in the past and this was a natural mc then she's just encountered a hiccup in nature. That's it...nothing more. Send her my way if she needs a shoulder. I'd be happy to allow her to let it all out, purge the heartbreak, so she can ride the hormonal wave back to it's peak and score her next BFP!!

Buckets, honey sit down and rest. We should chat about bottling your energy.

Steaky best wishes tonight.

longwayfromhome · 20/04/2009 21:25

ooooh think i maybe just got the blockage

longwayfromhome · 20/04/2009 21:27

is there a time limit for how long you are meant to express?

Steaknife · 20/04/2009 21:54

Just popping in to say, as ever, thank you for kind words and thoughts. Will update tomorrow as it is past my bedtime, but there has been laughter Chez Steaky this evening and that can only be good.

longwayfromhome · 20/04/2009 22:02

60ml. DS woke up. ate yoghurt, carrot and bread off to change him and for a quick trip to the plaza before bed.

longwayfromhome · 20/04/2009 22:03

Night all.

TwilightSurfer · 20/04/2009 22:18

longway you are the expressing queeen! how long is too long?

steaky that is wonderful news. can't wait to hear your update tomorrow.

sorry i ran off early but reese zonked out so i took advantage by painting a wall and part of a closet. still more bits and pieces to paint but not a bad bit covered today. this work is dd1's room. seems i work until i run out of time then procrastinate a few months then work some more. thankfully all her main walls are done it's just closet work that's driving me mad. the one wall i had to paint was where i moved the bed...seems i painted around it a few months ago. my diy skills are a little lazy sometimes.

Night LWFH

Hi TS

good day here we had a big walk in the sunshine then came home to do garden stuff. I am expecting the night from hell as DD had 2 5 inute naps in the car and 1 30min nap before she was rudely awoken byDH's phone which he left next to he on the floor.

Off to bed now sleep tight all.

oopsacoconut · 20/04/2009 22:37

Sazzle - Hope baby sleeps and DD1's appointment goes well and you get some answers.

Miamla · 20/04/2009 22:55

off to bed myself now as well but just wanted to thank poppy for the heartattack she just gave me! i read about liberating the cat and thought &&^%& he's still in the shed. But i then remembered that i have released him already so all is good!

and agree with the others poppy, your DDs are gorgeous!

longwayfromhome · 20/04/2009 23:19

back again. Instead of the plaza we did my "lazy what do I do with the baby?" trip and we went to play with the toys in the toy shop nearby. Lots of fun, but we can't do it too often. Boob feeling better. Finally. DS has just done a good job on the blockage too.

beautiful photos poppy and hope tomorrow goes OK for your DD Sazzles.

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 00:00

DH has kabobs on the grill. I've whipped up a pink salad. Reese just downed 6oz. DD1 has her nose to the wall in a time out. All's well in House of Twilight.

Sazzles I hope dd1's visit tomorrow goes well. She's such a beautiful child even with red checks.

Poppy your girls need to be in a painting. Lovely Lovely Lovely.

Right...interrupted again. brb....

Steaky hope appointment went well.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to going back to England. My shopping list will include - teabags, ibuprofen & sheba for the cats for Sam calpol sachets (can only get liquid here) and lots of baby clothes (going to buy summer outfits in the next couple of sizes up as he only wears shorts and t-shirts or babygros and they are blardy expensive here).

I have lists galore going on for the packing but haven't actually done any yet . Considering we shouldn't need to much when we get there as we are borrowing quite a bit of stuff I can't believe my list for the flight alone...

Expectant · 21/04/2009 07:23

LWFH not sure if it still applies but was told at babycafe some time ago that you should only really express for 20 minutes a side. I always found DS much more efficient than the pump though particularly when engorged.

Just re-read my previous post and of course I am not condoning ibuprofen for the cats!
