you'd think after 33 threads we'd have all the answers by now.

Sambo our DHs have similar interests. SpongeBob is also a BIG deal in my house. Twas that way LONG before we had children.

Spongebob rocks!

Miamla I'd definitely be interested in a Miamla-tai

Hi and bye everyone else, been a manic day and still lots to do before I can crawl into bed...

hooterpooter · 16/04/2009 22:36

Off to bed too, night all

Miamla · 16/04/2009 22:53

evening all
absolutely shattered, feeling v hormonal perhaps AF is finally on her way
Actually, keep meaning to tell you all, DS does actually have an AF in RL! i haven't dared tell my sister what her name stands for on here!

i heart spongebob too!

cyteen, hotter sambo and no1
probably easier if we swap to email/FB to chat details re the miamla-ties
I'll drop you all a message and we can take it from there

Miamla · 16/04/2009 23:52

cyteen, hotter, sambo and no1
You should all have messages now so please let me know if you don't and i'll try and work out who i've emailed/FBed instead of you!

ps sorry the messages are un-flowery straight down to business, the next one will be fluffier when i'm a bit more awake!

Sibh · 17/04/2009 00:27

I've been painting the woodwork in the bathroom tonight so no mning for me. Which means I've reverted from being a Bodenista to a paint-spattered trucker. Oh well.

Hotter - sorry you had to go through all the trauma with the job. DH has been in that kind of situation before, and it is painful. The time came when he was able to laugh about it in a 'mwah, ha, ha' kind of way, but at the time it was not nice at all. They sound like eejits in fairness...

Kind of Oops to cheer you up with a Take-A-Break style storyline

Buckets - at DS1's writing. That is just fab. Shall we leave the fecking parenting genius crown with you? I've been feeling v. soft about my three at the moment too. Making a family is a good thing.

We found out today that a couple DH has known since college have split up after 18 years together. DH was upset, but and then when I kept leaping out from behind things in the manner of Cato, to kiss him, hug him, tell him I love him and generally check he hadn't done some kind of runner.

Miamla-if I could have details of the world-beating Miamla tie too that would be great.

Is PF on holiday too at the moment?
Oh and I've been meaning to wave back to Steaky.

Ah, I should be asleep!!!!

Expectant · 17/04/2009 05:27

Hi museli greek yoghurt and blueberries for breakfast here

Down to business I need your help finding something to wear for DS christening. I will have about a week before the christening in the UK to buy. Have fallen in love with these shoes (the peeptoe version which I can't find a link too but in grey) so possibly something to go along would be good!

www.ninewest.com/Joris/3089235,default,pd.html?cgid=1044&itemNum=4

Also I want to buy some formula for DS to use whilst we are there - he doesn't drink it from a bottle or cup but we have been using with weetabix and porridge in the mornings as I am a little concerned about the amount of iron he is getting so don't want to just use cow's milk. My question is can you still get ready made cartons for the 6m+ stage? Have been using Hipp Organic here in powder form as SMA is oddly vanila flavoured in the 6m+ stage here and that is the only other brand that is comparable to UK brands. Wouldn't mind using Aptamil as have heard that is good as well.

TS will try to find the quiz for you.

Steaky been meaning to ask what is a German Cigar?

Hooter what rubbish news

Peterlote hope the check-up goes well

Miamla well done T - now expecting DS to follow suit in the next week as that seems to be the usual timeframe (they are about a week apart anyway aren't they?

On the terrible twos already - could this be because they are Leo's and also born in the year of the rat - methinks some of the characteristics showing already!

Felt a bit Scandinavian with the other name so am back to hotterpotter (although that is definitely false advertising this morning ) but any/all of you are welcome to call me hooter if you want, I won't mind

Expectant can't help you on the dress sorry, and those shoes scare me they are so grown up but I can tell you that they do sell the follow-on milk in cartons

Sibh hope the bathroom looks good and the whiff of paint soon fades. And thanks, I know it will get better in time and I'll be glad to be out of it, but I wish I could have been the dumper not the dumpee

Miamla ooh will be in touch

Crappy night here, DS up 4 times and would only go back to sleep with milk each time . He and DD are having great fun with a Thomas train this morning but the noise of the wheels on the wooden floor is a bit loud

hotterpotter · 17/04/2009 07:44

X-post, Hi VG glad you had a fab holiday good to have you back though

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 07:54

morning all, VG welcome home glad it went well, our house is upside downtoo pending work next wk and I hate it the living room is stuffed into the dining room and dumpingground play room and there is no floor in living room etc etc better be worth it

sibh how awful for your friends after all that time. I do wonder though if it is better in today's society where people no longer feel as if they have to remain together because they've been a couple for so long? I rather like the think that if the split is a mutual decision then it leaves them both free to come out of an unhappy environment and go and live the life they deserve away from polite constrictions? it IS early and I AM know for talking utter nonsense so ignore me if I've offended

expectant formula readily available in cartons in Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys etc so you'll have no problem getting it - you could order it online and have it waiting on your arrival? Shoes are gorgeous and shall have a look later for you do you have anything in mind?

pertelote am sure M will knock their socks off when she see them best of luck for it!

oops was expecting you to be on here after a 10k jog this morning with your high carb breakfast offerings ready!

No1 have just seen those shoes on a website for £25 so we got a bargin

morning all else! Busy day in the dixie household, DH wasn't home till sometime after 3am but all the girls slept through which was FAB. Dylan up but the other 2 still sleeping so far. Doors arrive today and I've to do some chase up phone calls for workmen/return and reorder some tiles/get school shoes for DD1's return to school on Mon/remember to take DD1 to her tennis lesson and deliver some more stuff for the cafe project and yet by the looks of it I'll spend most of today wiping noses [blerugh]

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 07:57

hotter I understand about dropping the hooters but I think I've decided we know each other well enough for me to be able to call you hots from now on

sambo303 · 17/04/2009 08:03

morning, thanks for breakfast expectant love the shoes btw, shoes are always a good place to start when planning an outfit

vg welcome back I hope you are rested and relaxed. I love Cornwall, my dsil is from there, right at the end. Also we spent all our childhood holidays pootering around Devon/Cornwall in a caravan and I'm planning on doing the same with ds. Hope you managed to fit in a few pasties (pronounced p-ah-sties I'm reliably informed) and cream teas . Nothing worse than coming home to a bit of a mess though...hope you can delegate some of those chores, we all used to muck in with a spring clean when we were kids, mum somehow made it into a fun game

hotpot lol at Scandinavian. 4 times sounds bad . My ds slightly better at 3 times last night, and milk each time which seems a retrograde step as a week ago I was sometimes managing to not feed him at all between 7 and 7. Hmm only have 4 months to train him to sleep through...panic stations

hope Ann gets her computer fixed soon, thread's not quite the same without her and Seb

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:07

expectant some for you to mull overlillian dress or elysia dress or emma dress or twisted lace dress or cora embroidered dress and check out the shoes that go with it! or fab shirt dress or lovely coat dress - very Kirstie Alsopp! or hot pink? or this is pretty too or I love this but not sure if its what you'd want!

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:21

something appealing about this, I think it would be a very flattering dress and can't make up my mind about this one

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:22

right am going to stop now as I'm not even sure you want a dress let me know what kind of thing you're thinking of as my rock n' roll lifestyle extends to staying in alone on another Fri night as DH on nightshift

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:26

£275 within budget?!?!?, nice though

oopsacoconut · 17/04/2009 08:34

And the FISG is off Go Dizzy Go

No running here it hurts too much and no Hicarb either just boring old porridge and raspberries but later there will be much baking for the coffee shop, brownies, fairy cakes, flapjacks, sausage rolls etc......

There is a funny smell in our kitchen best go and see what it is.

Back in a bit

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/04/2009 08:39

Morning all, got banned from Mn last night from dh as I clicked on a link for farm holidays and got a Trojan. He started ranting I told you viruses come from chat forums etc...
anyway.. better night here from ds.3 wakes up before 12 (1st two feeds, last one a cuddle) he then slept till 7am.
I would love to say that was an amazing 7 hours sleep for me however dd was in and out of our bed and quite fidgety but still was better.
sibh hate to hear of marraige breakups, my mums friend has just found out her dh as cheated after 40 years of marraige. He goes sailing a lot and she put 2 and 2 together when he went sailing to same place for a while and she phoned a friend to find she had gone sailing to she drove all through the night adn opened the camper with spare set of keys and cought them at it.
whilst clearing out things at home she found a mobile phone hidden in a box in the garage which he had been using to communicate with this 'other' women and it was from 2006. Obviously she was devasted and had no idea it had been going on that long.
vg welcome back you have been missed
can I ask where you stayed, trying to talk dh into cornwall, but he refuses to drive longer than about 3 hours
My friend text me early this morning to say her dad had died in the early hours, the poor man had been suffering a while now. I am sure she is relieved he is no longer suffering.
Another sad story, we have passed on lots of baby things to a friend of dhs at work as they dont have much, they found out last week after scan the baby has severe spina bifida they told them the baby would be very ill as apparently the spinal fluid had leaked into the brain from what dh could remember, They decided to have
a termination. The poor girl had 15 hours of labour
gooodness arnt I full of good news this morning sorry.
pertelote that month has gone very quick,I hope M appointment goes well.
miamla I am off to check my mail*dizzy I saw them dearer too on another website.
My dh is also on night shift this weekend.

hotterpotter · 17/04/2009 08:40

Dizzy that last one is beautiful [swoon] sadly not in my size

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:41

oh aye FISG my backside, I tried the girls in their christening dresses yesterday and I can't even get DD2's massive head through hers some ebay bargin that was its aged 3-4 as well

I have a dress that I bought in tinkies TKMaxx which is a lovely 50s style Simonetta dress with tea rose design on it, tried that on her (was meant for next summer ) and its perfect! I'm just trying to sort sometihng for DD1 now as her ebay bargin spangly monsoon dress doesn't really go with the more demure but classic one for DD2 - I know it sounds ridiclious as I don't need them to be matching BUT it would be nice if they were in a similar style

or I am being neurotic and finding excuses to shop

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:49

No1 what terrible news you've had this wee while your poor friends its tragic.

hots was nice wasn't it

right, all the girls up and the blokes delivering the doors have phoned to say they'll be here between 10-12 this morning (I haven't been called darling that many times in one phone call in years!) am off to prepare breakfast for older DDs and to see if Dylan might actually eat something now she's been up a wee while

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/04/2009 08:50

dizzy i totally understand. I got dd a dress to wear for christening and a last minute other one just in case.
Also 2 [pairs of shoes just in case.
Dh never says anything about what she wears, but when I dressed her he looked and said mmmm it doesnt seem quite right, I agreed so quick change into other dress only to find I had no cardigan for it. Oh the shock
I then realised I had a Kenzo cardigan hidden away for when she was bigger. aged 5 and it fit fine.
shop shop shop.
that last dress is gorgeous off to look at the rest

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 08:51

No1 don't look now but Jigsaw and FCUK now have their kids stuff online [meep][sound of credit card straining/melting/being refused]

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/04/2009 09:01

I love that shirt dress and that fab Kirsty style one too. gorgeous.
I would be reluctant to buy a dress with delicate fabric.whilst wrestling with dcs. I bought a fab one from Monsoon for christenings sequins with net overlay and I have a small hole in the front of it as my engagement ring got cought in it. Gutted.
