Hi Moose, sorry that your not well. I hope your dd gets better soon

Finley is laying under his play mat batting the toys in the nude I have to lay him on a big towel because you know what little boys are like!

stripeywoollenhat · 23/04/2009 15:16

books, looked at your breast feeding query, just wanted to add that it seems to take about a week for my supply to increase when c needs to up it. maybe your supply increases less quickly too?

moose, sorry you aren't feeling so good

so, mum and baby pilates was a bit of a disaster this morning - c cried all the way through, i think i managed to do about one pilate, as it were. will have to get her gran to look after her next week... also, i don't appear to have any muscles at all

Hi all.

My, its so hard to keep up with all the posts! So sorry in advance if i miss anyone/ Anything.

Tree Well done you for sticking at it. Hopefully someone will have some answers before long!! Poor little H & you in the mean time! Hope OH helps out lots! My OH is great at cuddles and baths, but hardly ever changes nappies. That said, thats prob more my fault than anyones. Anytime he does it, i don't know what he does, but her poo shoots out the sides. Plus, given the time it takes him to change the nappy, far easier to just do it myself!

missj / EPPM - i know, i miss the gym!!! I was never a runner... didn't really enjoy that. But loved classes, swimming, pilates especially. Whats Bikram Yoga miss j? The Wii fit has some Yoga poses, but like i said, have been rather slack with getting on the wii fit!

Books you haven't failed LO in anyway whatsoever! Its prob beyond your control. Hope LO gains a bit more weight in the coming weeks!!!

met with NCT girls this morning & walked the babies round a local garden in the sunshine. lovely!!!

rrrayray · 23/04/2009 15:37

Oh so much to catch up on in one little morning!

Books you are absolutely doing your utmost to breastfeed your little sweetie, you really can't do any more! 1.5 hours breast-feeding at a time is very tough. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work... ff babies are fine and yours will be too if it goes that way. The only thing that matters is that you don't feel bad about it. Remember - a ff baby with a happy mama is better off than a bf baby with a miserable mama!

ray your comment about OH being slow at changing nappies rings a bell - in the middle of the night I had to listen to 10 minutes of crying while OH did the nappy change - was all I could do to keep from rushing in and taking over as I am super-speedy these days!

Bikram yoga - always hated the 90 minutes I was there, sweating like a pig, but felt soooo amazing afterwards - it was truly addictive. Gives you a fantastic body too - not that I ever got that far with it!

My Dad is staying - I just sent him up the lane with Nye in the pram, while I am supposed to be cooking the bol for the spag bol for tonight's dinner - have MIL & FIL coming over! So need to dust in every corner... she will be doing a FULL inspection!

rrrayray · 23/04/2009 16:37

Books Sounds like hard work! Good luck.... Just remember, you can only do your best... and thats what your doing! Like you said your DS was FF and is great. Your much more use to DD a happy mummy who isn't BF than a down in the Dumps one who is BF. So if it doesn't work... and you've given it a good shot. Don't feel bad! Two of my NCT ladies planned to BF and ended up FF through differing reasons. The fresh air will have done you both lots of good! xxx

tinkisenjoyingthesun · 23/04/2009 17:14

i bf dd1 for 5 weeks she seemed fussy on it all the time!
started bracken on the formula from the word go to try and give her the best chance they r bith fussy eaters. bracken has a stronger suck and is abit better than dd1 was.

mm - poor u hope u feel better soon and poor dd.

rray - your day sounds good

jackson - must be nice to have your dad over. yoga sounds good

LenniEd · 23/04/2009 18:27

Am still there EPPM doing my Masters there, did my undergrad at Leeds. What did you and Elkie study? Might have had the same lecturers!

Books - can't add anymore really but wanted to offer you support - bf is wonderful if it works for both of you but I wouldn't attach any guilt to your decision whatever you choose to do. If you really want to continue then tictocs advice on your other thread sounds fantastic (let's face it the lady is a legend) and definitely (do I spell that right or is it definately?) worth getting a bf counsellor involved but if you don't really want to bf then there is absolutely no guilt in saying "I've done this for 12 weeks, my DD has had the best start I could give her but now I want to formula feed"

EPPM, I graduated 6 years before you! My sister must have graduated from there in 1996 but she was a medical student (so was there for 6 years). What did you study?

Lenni and Tree, I'm hoping to visit Ilkley and Harrogate in July if either or both of you are about.

moosemama · 23/04/2009 20:37

Dog did you call them? Is she OK?

DD been like that on and off since her jabs on Tuesday, seems to be related to tummy pain I think. She is perfectly happy one minute and screaming the place down the next - like Isla she never even cries normally.

She is happily kicking Daddy on her playmat at the moment, but was really screaming 10 minutes ago.

EachPeachPearMum · 23/04/2009 21:21

books you're doing your best... you are not a bad mum, you obviously care so much about this- I hope tiktok's advice proves helpful, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't. She is a healthy baby- thats all that matters.

dog is Isla any better? hopefully it's just a poo trying to get out...

lenni/elkie I did geography BSc- you? I was based in Mansfield-Cooper building.... lived Whitworth Park and Rusholme.

tink I love vertbaudet stuff... great clothes not in ubiquitous pink... and their room stuff is usually gorgeous.

So, DS has a rash... no other symptoms. Its been on his trunk for 3 days though... and now spread to his legs and bottom... time for docs? Its kind of small red dots- bit like german measles, it blanches fine though.

I did a Combined Studies degree with options in 5 different departments (literature and politics/history over the 3 years but perhaps didn't come across any of your tutors, eachpeach and lenni - English, American Studies, Politics, History and Comparative Literature (the last was in the French department). I lived in Whitworth Park in my 1st and 3rd years and Withington in between. My sister was in Whitworth Park too for a year and then lived in Longsight and Levenshulme.

LenniEd · 23/04/2009 22:41

Not doing anything in July Elkie except for away with DH's work 17/18/19th. Would be lovely to meet you and Tree in Harrogate and Tree will you add me as a friend on facebook please so we can sort out a time for a brew am very excited about all this!

EPPM/Elkie - I am in the Education department so never stray out of that building really, although have no idea what it is called despite spending quite a lot of time in there! Rusholme.... mmmm, curry!

Dog Glad Isla seems better, DS does that in the evening sometimes, with him I think it is getting overtired.

EPPM No help on rash I'm afraid but if you're at all concerned I'd take him to the docs tomorrow rather than have it worry you all over the weekend.

MissJ Hope the inspection went off well I get those here too! Unfortunately they are a daily occurance [grrr]

Ray off to look at facebook now, although might be tomorrow by time my internet connection catches up.

Tink Room sounds lovely, you put a lot of thought into these things. You are a total shopaholic!! I know who to ask if I ever need shopping help, still can't believe you did Tesco and the Jan sales just before DD2 arrived!

Stripey Ittis - yay! Another convert! You must put pictures of C in them on fb when they arrive so I can coo at them, I will never see one of my DCs in a pink Itti now sadly, it is a parenting experience I will sadly miss out on!

EachPeachPearMum · 23/04/2009 22:52

ooh- elkie which house in whitty park? I was in Dilworth... those were the days (1st & 3rd for me too)

dog his jabs were 10 days ago though... are they still likely to affect him now?

elkiedee · 23/04/2009 23:16

I can't remember the name but I was in the smaller block at the back in my 1st year and Thorncliffe, the block over the shops at the front with washbasins in the bedrooms in the 3rd year.

chefswife · 23/04/2009 23:28

stripey i gave up a long time ago trying to exercise with DD. its useless. if she starts crying, you have to stop and the momentum of exercising is lost. plus its not good for your mind. you need to be in a mind space to workout. i hate these yoga and pilate videos and groups that are for you and your baby. you can't really get a good workout. it was even hard for me when DH sat with her because she would be screaming her head off, and DH would slowly get irritated by it and then next thing you know, i haven't exercised in weeks because i couldn't bare listening her or looking at DH. i've started running now thank god and it gets me out of the house on my own, and i can concentrate on just me. i feel better too because i feel like i've worked out.

chefswife · 23/04/2009 23:29

DD is kicking up a storm right now because i am forcing the afternoon nap in the crib now.
