MsSparkle · 22/04/2009 11:18

EachPeachPearMum is that how much they are! I have so much to look forward to

stripeywoollenhat i don't think there is anything that is inapropriate after pregnancy! All your dignity is well and truely out the window

tink it is lovely when they go to nursery until 3pm. My dd goes on Fridays 8am-3pm and tuesday 1pm-6pm. It's really nice to have some time alone with the baby

Well took Finley to the doctors this morning and he has a chest infection Probably an aftermath from the chicken pox last week. Poor little man has antibiotics. He hasn't been feeding (ff) very well the last few days and now i know why!

MsSparkle · 22/04/2009 11:21

Oh and last night he went to sleep at 8.45pm because he was so tired then woke at 12am and had a feed. Then 1.45am he woke in a coughing fit, then again at 3.30am. Then he woke at 6.30am and had a feed. He is sleeping now. It's horrible when they are ill, not much sleep for anyone

EachPeachPearMum · 22/04/2009 13:18

Oh MsS hope ds is better soon- obviously was too much for him to deal with by himself. the coughing is awful, isn't it?

tink full days seem so long don't they? You soon get used to having all that time though....

tinkisenjoyingthesun · 22/04/2009 14:28

hi ms sparkle - poor finley hope he gets better soon
it has been great oday spending time with bracken.
atlanta also does mondays @ nursery 9-12pm and fri 9-12pm
thought we would start doing a full day to get her used to times as starting school sept and beacause she is a fussy eater thought that having lunch there might help this

hi eachpeach

tink - DS has regressed on his weeing too (3.4yrs) he's been potty trained for a year as well has fully, deliberately wet himself 2 or 3 times to get my attention - also quite a few damp pants.

also last night got himself undressed and lay on a towel next to James who was nappyless kicking on a towel pre bath. He was pretending to be a baby just like James then suddenly there was a fireman's hose like wee all over the carpet - just like James - in hindsight it was quite funny, just wish it had been on a hard floor not the carpet...

tink Glad your having some time with Bracken on her own. Does Atlanta enjoy nursery?

MsSparkle poor you & poor Finley. Hope he is feeling brighter soon & you get some sleep!!!

Dog 4 miles a day? i'm impressed!!! Have only been on the wii fit i ordered about 3 times since i got it Must do it some more! Not much more weight to loose (thats pretty much all boobs!) but could do with toning up some!

Dinner - I've just put the ingredients in a pan for a Chicken, Tomato and Fennell Ragout while OH is bathing Esme. Yummy! BBC Good Food Recipe - they have some great ones on there!

Fym Great mental image of wee-ing incident!

Right, better go and Dry & Feed Esme!

tinkisenjoyingthesun · 22/04/2009 18:48

hi rray - she loves nursery had her report in feb teachers said she is doing brillantly
i have about a stone to lose starting aerobics again tonite wasnt on over easter hols to an hour tonite of bums and tums and an hour tom night dance fit
get dds sand and water table tom cant wait

rrrayray · 22/04/2009 19:39

tink i used to be a real gym bunny- i lived there! But.... we live rather in the sticks now.. so its a good 20 + mins to get there, so 40 mins round trip, and since it closes at 8pm, if i went after Esme has gone to bed (only time i could!) i would only have about 30 mins there! Really must cancel the memebership real- total waste of Dosh. Think going to take a leaf out of Dog's book & get walking a bit more. Did LOTS when Esme tiny.... but been a bit slack recently. Also going to get my lazy Ass on the wii fit!!!

treedelivery · 22/04/2009 19:39

Hello folks

Sorry to hear about the chest infection msSparkle - hope Finley feels better soon.

Uniforms - don't talk to me about them. The leotard for Jess's gym class is £26!!!! It's about one foor long and 8" across! Crazy.

Am having an attack of the rl. Poor Hatts is refluxing all over the place. Took her to GP today - it was the single most frustrating and disheartening experience of my parenting life to date [except for when a natruropath told me bf dd1 was pointless as my diet was so bad]. He basically explained that babies need to cry and be held.

Have got referral to a consultant though - by saying 'with respect I don't think she should have to suffer pain for 6 months' I think the 'with respect' clinched it

What a Patronising load of twaddle. Am also armed with trial papers regarding the condition - so will no doubt be very unpopular at the consultantion. I don't care - it's been 3 months and she stil only sleeps for an hour max - unless upright. I need a plan!
AND she has now crossed 2 centiles in weight gain - I'm not bothered particulary, but amazingly the hv said, 'we can put that down to reflux so that's ok'. How is that ok?

THEN the canestan with steriod cream the GP gave Hatts for 'thrush nappy rash' which I tried to explain is relate to the colic - when it is bad she gets a rash - has thinned her skin so it is crinkly. So was told not to use again. I will NEVER just take what they give without checking it out first, I never would usually, but was so depleted in energy at the emergency out of hours surgery[took as screaming hit new heights] I just took it. Never again. Still unsure why my taking her as I was worried her bowel was twisted or obstucted, resulted in nappy rash cream but hey ho.

ARRRRRGGGh. Here endeth the rant. Sorry people. Will go eat worms. On plus side have been dairy free for 5 days and have noticed an improvement in Hatts. SO can't have tea or choc - bad, happy baby - good!

Hello to all, I will catch up and get back into the thread - it's just all up to my eye's at the mo! Am hanging in there though!

treedelivery · 22/04/2009 20:17

Oh no my rant killed the thread!

EachPeach - glad dd enjoyed first day - sorry about the dress though! How did you get on - were you worried? Think I'll either be doing the conga or a dribbling wreck.

AM heartened to hear talk of nappies - my mum reckons I should buy all itti's, but then my mum would she is a spend thrift! Am loving bum genuis myself, although they seem to look tired quickly - they are one size so make good financial sense.

I supppose I am quite lucky in some ways inthat my town is generally quite poor and deprived, massive generalisation but a fair comment, so all the school uniforms are cheap and kept that way [iyswim?]. The privates are a fortune of course, but the one Jess will go to are very reasonable in comparison to some of my friends in other towns and cities. Interesting point though - I wonder if schools think about that before setting their prices?

EachPeachPearMum · 22/04/2009 20:30

tree when you say crossed 2 centiles... do you mean gone down by 2 quartiles? eg 75th centile to 25 centile? that is a lot of loss
it may be down to reflux... but that doesn't make it right for your dd, does it? if there is that amount of loss, then consultant does seem the best place to go next.

and £26 for a leotard? outrageous- she's 4 yo FFS.

rray thats the problem I had with gym once I was ready to go back after dd was born- either I went after she went down, but before eating- so I would be fainting with hunger after being at work all day... or I went after eating, but they closed 30 mins later so not long enough for decent workout. I used to go 4 times a week before dd, and I really got a lot out of it.

fym sorry- I know its frustrating for you, but your description of ds1 weeing in the air was hilarious!

dog we had picnic for tea (at botanical gardens again - dd begged to go after nursery school)

Also at the leotard. Whereabouts do you live Tree? It must be fairly near me I think since you mentioned Harrogate the other day. Sorry to hear about the latest round of reflux/colic problems and that you've not been cared for how you should have been by the medical people. It's horrible isn't it. It will get better though, and not long now, I know that is little consolation when you're in the middle of it but it really does turn off like a switch. I feel for you, you are doing such a fantastic job though.

EPPM - Even I want to go for a picnic at the Botanical Gardens now sounds fab. I am guessing a little out of my way though! Lovely that she enjoys the outdoors.

Talking of which we're off on our hols next week - in your neck of the woods Dog. Only for a few days as DH can't leave the business longer but I'm having a packing crisis. Do I pack for hot and take a few woolies or pack for cold and wet and miserable and hardly be able to squeeze an extra ant in the car?

No idea on the car Dog.

Gym - those were the days. I also miss the adrenaline rush, and being able to look decent in anything. Sigh. We're also far too far away now, at least 20mins and that is to a rubbish place. I am on day 2 of my sugar detox though and am actually feeling a lot better today, although am craving something sweet like crazy.

Tree - I have convinced myself Ittis are economical on the basis that you don't have to buy a wrap too and they dry quickly so don't need so many. I have 6 (all in different colours mind!) and paid just over £70 for them from here and they are used during the day (only use one Motherease Sandy plus wrap and stuffing other than these) and are washed and dry for the next day.

treedelivery · 22/04/2009 21:59

Lenni - I support you in your itti buying antics, but refuse to click on that link as am looking into a private consultant who specialises in allergies and infants - in Harrogate again.

I'm hoping for that switch any day......now.....now....go oooonnnnn....now...dammit no switch yet.

Was just above 50th at birth, and has just dropped below 25th, so they said has crossed 2 centiles, but I'm keeping cool 'cos it's only just iyswim. Will need watching though. Sigh. Mind you dd1 did this and was on the 10th till she was 3.4, despite being 75th at birth. Whatyagonnado?

I'm in misty sunny yorkshire east coast, but lived in Bradford or Leeds till got pregnant with dd1. Really miss city life. Where you Lenni?

treedelivery · 22/04/2009 22:01

P.s sorry Dog no idea on car - but thank you for moral support

LenniEd · 22/04/2009 22:08

I lived in Leeds until I married DH - moved in 2003. Loved it there. I can't say I miss it, but I miss the convenience. I also miss friends, but many of them have since left anyway so know it wouldn't be the same. I went to uni there, sigh, those were the days. We stayed for a few years afterwards but then decided where we were wasn't the right place to raise a family so when a job came up in Lancashire we moved back here to DH's homeland. Am still only an hour away from Leeds though, couldn't stray too far! We're in east lancs, just over the border from n yorks.

I should meet you in Harrogate some time Tree if you'd like. It is about an hour from me, DD and I went to see the Tiger who Came to Tea at the theatre there the other day. Anyone with toddlers can heartily recommend that play, DD loved it.

It is a gorgeous town. On the weight loss, would imagine it is hard not to worry, would be unnatural not to really. But at least you've come through it before with DD so have that experience to reassure you. You know you are through the worst though, after this it should get better if it is colic... I get the impression you suspect something else though. Mother's instinct eh.

missjackson · 22/04/2009 22:17

tree well done for persevering and getting the referral, hopefully a consultant will be able to help out. Poor little H. She is lucky to have you for a Mum.

Lenni how do you wash and dry 6 nappies by the morning? S**t that reminds me I still have a load of laundry to hang out... from this morning! Crazy day running around and didn't get back until 8pm by which time Nye was about to melt-down - thought he would sleep in Waitrose & the car, but he was maniacally insisting on staying awake, veering wildly between laughing and looking like he was about to have what we optimistically call 'a sense of humour failure' .

dog thanks for comment about his name- sometimes I worry that we've burdened him with such an unusual name! But there are actually a couple of young Nyes locally - so he won't be the only one.

eppm and ray I used to love the gym too and running, and bikram yoga - very intense! I just liked the feeling of total exhaustion afterwards to be honest. Am now in terrible shape - back to pre-pg weight but my tummy is so soft! Don't feel that concerned though, it's only been 3 months, and I think a bit of padding while BF is probably a good thing!

Must crawl to bed now...
