Finally found the time to come on and post!

Stefka - are your headaches caused by the computer? Have you had an eye test done, might be that?

Muppet - aww at Ollie at Legoland - did he enjoy himself? Has dh been off work this week with the tube strike? Good luck with the exam.

Dal - yes we've got a lock of hair tied up in a plastic bag. Need to do something a bit more interesting with it... at Dylan emptying your purse - that's one of Anya's favourite pasttimes.

Inzi - at going to Asda with hairclips in. Anya's hair isn't long enough to do that yet - it was only straggly right at the back. Hope Jane's teeth come through - Anya's just got 2 eye teeth this week but she's still restless so the others can't be far behind. Anya's also started eating yoghurt with her fingers. She also empties her bowl onto her tray before eating anything - bits she doesn't want then get swept onto the floor. As you say, 'tis a phase. Lovely story about Jane and your grandad walking together - my grandparents were all gone before Anya was born.

FT - hugs to you - I've never been terribly close to my mum, although we get along much better since Anya was born, but I was terrified that her scan might show up something serious and she might not be around to see Anya grow up. Can't imagine how hard it must be when that actually happens to a parent you've loved so much. Alex's antics made me laugh - especially storing food for later and taking food back from the dog.

Alice - woohoo, glad you've got internet again. House sounds wonderful - how long before you move in? How did the swimming go?

Crochet - poor you being ill, hope they manage to get it sorted.

LES - that's great news - hope you can relax a bit now.

Mum got the results of her scan today and it's just a slipped disc . The scan didn't show any signs of nerve compression but there clearly is as she's got muscle weakness in her leg. She might need surgery if it doesn't clear up in next few weeks but at least it's not a tumour or anything, so very relieved!

We're off to the Lakes tomorrow morning to scatter fil's and mil's ashes. We're going to a cottage in the Langdales where dh's family used to go on holidays - it's really basic (they've now got an inside loo ) so we're only staying the one night, but should be nice - lots of opportunity for dh and his brothers to relive boyhood antics.

Dalrymps · 12/06/2009 19:59

Crotchet - I feel your frustration. Soooo annoying when that happens!

WWAJC - So glad to hear the scan results were clear of anthing sinister. must be a big relief.

The cottage break sounds nice, will be nice for your dh to visit somewhere he went when younger, I love doing that!

FloriaTosca · 13/06/2009 09:42

WWAJC; thrilled to hear your Mums' back problem isn't anything sinister, relieved for you. You are probably already on your way to the lakes but think it is a lovely idea to scatter your pils ashes together in a place that obviously has happy memories for their children. I hope you all have a wonderful time

tLES; that is fabulous news! and a massive weight off your shoulders...I'm not surprised you cried for so long and then slept so well...very cathartic.

bother Alex needs the toilet....

muppetgirl · 13/06/2009 10:21

Morning all

Tles - fab news on the sentence, no wonder you cried.Am hoping this is a chance for you to begin to move on from what happened I know it will never leave you but he is never coming out of prison xxx

WWAJC - Wishing you an eveing of fond memories with dh xx

Alice - you're one brave lady to take your 2 swimming -I could only just manage my 2 when I wasn't pregnant and Ollie is a lot older! -Did you go?

Well I'm at the gym whilst the boys are in their morning groups, dh is playing tennis. I am beginning to get sooooooooo tired now and my tummy muscles are really giving up the ghost. I'll take a photo of my bump and let you see how rotund I am -currently I've put on 2 1/2 stone - but it's going shortly (3 weeks and 2 days woohoooo!)

Oredered a blow up double bed for the Il's (it is the height of an ordinary bed so it should be fine) as we have taken apart the spare room ready for it to be decorated so Ollie can move in in Sept. Not sure they'll like it but it's cheaper than buying a sofabed...

Going to put the crib together tonight and pack my hospital bag as you just never know.

Love to all

xx

Dalrymps · 13/06/2009 10:51

Wow muppet, it's getting really close now eek! Good idea to pack your bag well in advance. The most useful item in my bag was a wispa bar first thing I ate after having Dylan lol

Can't wait to see a pic of your bump!

muppetgirl · 13/06/2009 11:00

not allowed food but will definately get dh to bring in the double decker for when I can!

bump a little freakish, the woman on the next computer just asked if I was having twins!!

Think it's because I carry all out front which makes me look bigger than I really am iyswim. I don't look pregnant from behind. In fact I think I'm going to start defying the laws of gravity if I go out the front anymore!

Dalrymps · 13/06/2009 11:02

Lol at 'freakish' bump. Mine was all front too but small and looked square some of the time?!

Double decker mmmm good choice

muppetgirl · 13/06/2009 11:04

Am wondering if I'm going to start toppling over when I stand!!

What you up too today?

Dalrymps · 13/06/2009 13:03

Lol, i'm not up to much. Dh would have the day off work but he's helping his dad with a job for some extra cash. Hid dad is a heating engineer/plumber...

Not sure what time he'll finish, could be between 4 and 6. Would visit mil but she's full of the cold and not feeling up to it. Sil is going food shopping...

Have kept myself busy by making some carrot and lentil soup this morning though, had it for lunch YUM.

Dalrymps · 13/06/2009 15:17

Help appreciated here ladies

NeedCoffee · 13/06/2009 17:02

just posting so i can find you all when i have time to post, got a major exam on Tue so trying to fit revision in around Shannons naps

atm she is obsessed with Peppa Pig, I subcumbed to the pressure and bought the DVD so that I can try and revise while she watches it for 51 mins! The ones on Sky only last about 20 minutes, so the DVD gives me 2.5 times as long before I have to repeat it.
She'll also sit on the potty all day while its on, and goes, but doesn't seem to realise its anything that good, should maybe to the poo dance! Also, she doesn't want to do anything else apart from watch 'pig' not play with toys or go in the garden, I suspect I am building a rod for my own back, but its only till Tue I suppose.

Does anyone think she'll be more prone to piles if i leave her on the potty for longish periods of time or am i being silly?

LES-Great news, he deserved more-like castrating
Crochet -hope you get better soon and crsap about your piano hope it can be repaired.
Alice-great to have you back.

Hello to everyone else, sorry for not replying properly, will try and get back on soon, if not, it'll be after Tue xx

strawberrylace · 14/06/2009 08:31

hello all
WWAJC - glad your mum's news was ok
TLES - great news about that sentance - you still counting??
Muppet - v interested to see your bump - hope you are managing to get some rest before the big day
NC - DS is also obsessed by peppa - he does really cute snorting noises when it comes on the TV - we have DVDs too as its one good way to chill him out. plus i don't mind peppa, compared to some of the other cartoons

We are at one of my sister's at the moment - left DH to demolish our kitchen, and the new stairs and bathroom should go in this week. Did some face painting at my nephew/niece's school fete on friday, and helped out at niece's 5th birthday party yesterday. DS is two months younger than youngest nephew - they are such a pair of rascals together - either fighting over same toy or leading each other into mischief! so glad I don't have twins - don't know how people cope...

Hope you are all well - need to go and stop DS from 'exploring' his cousin's guitar

TheLadyEvenstar · 14/06/2009 19:17

LOL I think I will be counting for a while yet until it wears off i guess.

OP posts:
Stefka · 14/06/2009 20:43

Arghhh another week and I still can't catch up with you all! Head is on and off - apparently other women in the school are suffering too which is weird!

Hope everyone is well! x

Stefka · 14/06/2009 20:48

Tles - just saw your news. So few women get justice - I am really glad that you did.

Peppa pig seems to have passed us by for now.

alicet · 14/06/2009 22:00

Just a quickie from me...

Muppet I bottled taking them swimming! Will do soon but going to try and go again with dh a couple of times first and try and work out how I would manage with them both on my own while I have some help! Didn't manage this weekend as dh will today but fingers crossed will get to try soon...

WWAJC glad your mum is fine and hope you had a good weekend in the lakes - a lovely place to scatter pil's ashes.

Nothing too exciting to report here except there has been loads done to the outside of our house including the drive to the garages for our house and the others next to it so it does feel that finishing it might not be so far away - yippeee!!!

alicet · 15/06/2009 21:43

Oh my god where on earth is everyone?!

Dalrymps · 15/06/2009 22:41

Lol alicet i'm here!

Don't know where everyone has gone?!!!

Exciting about the drive being done on the new house, hopefully it won't be long!

Strawberry - Hey! Hope you're doing ok. Sounds like the house is coming on well

NC - How's the pepper pig obsession coming along? Dylan shouts 'pepper pig' whenever it somes on, well he actually shouts 'pepper pib'

Got some new shoes for Dylan today. We have plenty for him but fancied some clarks. He was too small last time we went to be able to fit half of the walking shoes they have. He's now a massive 4E . Got him some lovely ones with lights on and also some of the more casual ones they have for the beach etc, they're great, are jungle themed and one has a lion on and one has a monkey on it, he loves them!

The best bit was that the jungle shoes were reduces from £15 to £8 and we thought the other shoes were £28 but when we got to the till, they we're reduced to £15!!! So, we got 2 pairs for £23! I love getting bargains

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 15/06/2009 22:52

OMG that cottage was awful !! The day was lovely - the weather was nice, the scattering of the ashes went well, we all sat outside and had a bbq while dh swapped stories with his brothers, and Anya was so good-natured, all smiley and giggly. I had heard stories of the cottage being very basic but still was not quite prepared. I'd got it wrong about there being an inside loo - but at least the outside loo had a flush toilet . There was no bathroom - the bath was in the attic, complete with a solar shower that you have to fill yourself (no water supply in the attic) - didn't bother with that for one night. There was no heating so it was freezing (colder inside than out) - Anya slept in vest, pyjamas, cardi, socks, covered in sleeping bag + blanket. I was in pj's + dressing gown inside a sleeping bag (there's no bedding provided) and I was still cold and uncomfortable. At least I can say I've been but I am never staying there again! Even dh thought it was a bit rustic now he's not 12 years old. Will upload some photos later but have found these better ones just to give you an idea here and here. Have to say though, the views were amazing - this is the cottage.

Muppet - so close already! I was exactly the same shape when I was pg - I looked like a normal person with a huge alien bump strapped to my tummy. I have no idea how I stayed upright, I was so out of balance.

Dal - lol at square bump.

NC - good luck with exam tomorrow.

Dalrymps · 15/06/2009 23:01

WWAJC - at the cottage, it does look lovely and erm 'rustic' but very basic! The view looks fantastic though! You'll look back and laugh, one day, i'm sure

muppetgirl · 16/06/2009 07:51

WWAJC - that cottage looks stunning but not great facilities!!!

The kitchen looks like a microwave on the table

love the name -hellsgarth!!

FloriaTosca · 16/06/2009 08:50

WWAJC; LOL at hellsgarth. Utterly beautiful setting but oooohhhh soooo basic...you would have been better prepared if warned it was camping under a roof! ...reminds me of a place called 'piggotts', a barn where they do an opera from scratch in a weekend, field latrines, eat en masse in a barn, orchestra and chorus bring their own tent and soloists get the 'star' treatment of truckle beds with army blankets in a shed with a flush loo!...never again!!!!

muppetgirl · 16/06/2009 09:05

Hi Floria!

Needcoffee -good luck in your exam today xxxxx

FloriaTosca · 16/06/2009 11:44

Meant to write more earlier but realised we were going to be late for Talkfirst at 9.30. Alex really is getting very good at his signing now...it has been very useful as his speach can sometimes be unclear .. 'dog', 'choc', and (believe it or not)'toilet' can all sound very alike...but the signs are very different and crystal clear....I keep hoping for him to sign 'I love you' to me but no joy as yet, though he does keep hugging me and saying 'mine' which isalmost as good and considerably better than one Mum at class who has been trying to coach her daughter to say it only to get the signs; 'I', 'love'....'daddy' back!!!!

I made the mistake of telling DH that I had read that they learn 10 new words a day at this age so to watch what he said; "Oh really?" says he, with Alex in his arms "how quickly will he learn 'willy'?" "WILLY!!!" shouts Alex instantly.....what with that and last nights escapade when he let Alex paddle in the brook thinking he was supporting him with the leather reins, only he only had hold of the dog lead [disbelief emoticon],I made him carry all the wet clothes home while I carried a naked Alex under my cardi.....I'm almost looking forward to DHs 2 week trip to South Africa next month

Woooozle100 · 16/06/2009 21:20

haha FT

hi ladies. Not got much time to catch up on the months I've missed

Had a birrova drama and nightmare in one but all over and done with and sorted now. Am ok. Not really been on mn other than in another guise obsessing over this other stuff. Sorry if that sounds cryptic. Not that interesting really

Hope yr all well. Muppet - not long now. Time for curry washed down with rasberry tea yet?

And hope exam went well NC

WWAJC - least it was one hol where you got home and truly appreciated yr home. Not spoilt by luxury - like when you come home and home just looks so crummy (tho not exactly been on too many of them hols meself I must say - more like yrs really!)

Right - off now cos am in clean up and declutter mode. Putting house on the market - agent coming round on saturday. Our house is a pit of clutter and chaos. Have seen a house we couldn't really afford and put in lower offer which has been accepted. They're happy to wait for us a couple of months or so as well. Have everything crossed it all works out

tata a bit
