Hi Fran

My DD was born 25th August 04, and she is also my first and like you i can't believe i am a mummy either. But i love it, i think its the best job in the world.

Where abouts are you?

Fran81 · 14/04/2005 22:43

In Cambridge, you? your right, definatly the best job in the world. but def the hardest I've ever had!! None of my pre DD friends have kids yet, either, so sometimes its weird to think about what an amazing experience they are missing out on. tho they probably don't see it like that!

I am the first out of my friends too, really trying to get them to join the club but think they are just quite happy to enjoy my dd for time being. How is your dd?

Hi all,

Glad few more of us now. Not been on for a couple of weeks DD has had chest infection and been up in the night quite a bit so been going to bed quite early. But thankfully she is alot better now. She is in to everything crawling everywhere and can pull herself up to standing and walks along the sofa with big grin, i think she thinks she is very clever. Still having trouble with her bottles, she refusing them so currently she has one in morning but only takes 3 oz and one in evening and has about 5oz. Anyone else having any problems with bottles????

Fran81 · 30/04/2005 21:36

had a couple of exhausting nights myself. DD has been running a fever, had her to the doctors, but all they can tell you is keep doing what you're doing, eg: cold baths, calpol, etc...guess I was just hoping for some magic cure!!
usually dd is into everything too...crawling at rapidly increasing speeds and she pulled herself up to standing for the first time today.
Can't gice much advice with the bottles mmmchoc. dd still will only have milk off me, very anoying as she loves drinking water out of her cup, but as soon as I put in formula, she goes right off the idea! should try again really, but keep putting it off as going through a quite nasty break up with exp.

Sorry to hear that fran, never nice. And i can completely understand the comfort of breast feeding just wish i wasn't so quick to give up. Having a bit more luck with the milk last few days DD is still only having 3/4oz in morning but has gone up to about 7oz before bed, i know it no were near the recommended amount for her age but its what she wants and she is happy with it. They are so cute now they can pull up to standing and so proud of thereselves with it. Poppy tries to stand up on everything ever pillows and books, but can now walk along the sofa. I am loving this age they are so much fun and you get so much more back from them. Are you a SAHM????

cosi · 03/05/2005 10:37

I'm only online at work so have only just caught up, my DS is fine. He's gone from sleeping through for the first time last week back to drinking two full bottles last night! I think hes on a growth spurt. There never seems to be a pattern with his nights though, he wakes up at all different times. He is trying to crawl at the moment but can only go backwards and gets very frustrated when he ends up in a corner. I'm a working mum but trying to get back to being at home at bit more, unfortunately half my department are on maternity leave so I have to wait for someone to come back before I can drop back to four days.

cosi · 03/05/2005 10:45

Just thought while I'm here, does anyone have any tips for good finger foods to try? DS is having rice cakes and pieces of bread, gave him small pieces of apple and they were too hard and made him sick.

mmmmchocolate · 03/05/2005 20:23

My dd loves sticks of cheese and also every now and then she will have a munch on some skips (the melt in the mouth so easy to swallow) Took DD to be weighed today and no difference in 5 weeks, she must be doing alot of crawling. Whay weights are your babies??? (born 25/08/04 weight 17lb 2oz)

cosi · 04/05/2005 09:41

Thanks mmmmchocolate, I'll try those. My DS is about 19lb 4oz (born 22/8/04) but hes not really crawling properly yet. Also the weight is approximate as I cant get to the clinic now I'm at work so I have to use the bathroom scales. 17lb 2 sounds like a good weight to me especially if she is moving around alot.

corysmomma · 17/05/2005 12:42
