Indith · 16/03/2009 12:31

Boo!

Elibean · 16/03/2009 12:40

Bet everyone is out in the sun, pretending its summer

Indith · 16/03/2009 12:46

The sun has abandoned us up here Am procrastinating, both children asleep, stuff to be done but I just don't feel like it. We've had a lovely week with dh on holiday but he has gone back to work today and ds has been a little sod because he wants daddy. He is funny though, he has started calliing us by our names for some reason and is especially good and putting on a very important tone and ordering dh about

EustaciaVye · 16/03/2009 12:47

Hellooooo.

Been busy. Off out tonight for a meal with DH

DDs 1 and 2 being gorgeous and stroppy in equal measures.

How is everyone?

LenniEd · 16/03/2009 14:50

A long way from peeing on potties here too. I have absolutely no desire to potty train, DD seems to have given up hope.

Been visiting family for the weekend and even managed a short visit to my DM without catastrophe - it was actually quite a nice day, shock of all shocks.

Joints aren't painful for the most part Eli so much as uncomfortable. The bigger concern is I am losing a bit of function in my hands which is usually a sign of worse to come and my knees are inflammed and painful. I only notice really when I'm typing that my fingers aren't really responding how they should be, the rest of the time I don't even notice. Am just hoping that I avoid a full on flare as I don't want to give up feeding DS when I've got through the worst part, including another growth spurt over the weekend. He slept from 10pm til 5.30am last night though so perhaps he knew I needed a rest!

Yes, I have been enjoying the sun ... We went to the seaside at the weekend (ILs). It was lovely. It feels like summer is here. Please can it stay?!

Happy Birthday EV

Eli, yes it's a piece of string question re work. DH is really unhappy there (as are so many) but stuck in a rut

Elibean · 16/03/2009 19:13

Happy Birthday EV enjoy meal out!

Castles...gd re the weekend, but re dh's work. My bf's dh was in job he felt v unhappy in (to say the least) and left in September, unfortunately just before the world changed and he's still out of work. Very employable, but no one can afford to take him on - not good. Horrible time to be stuck in job one hates, not sure whether best to be stuck in, or stuck out, not good either way...

LenniEd, hurrah for ds's long night (relative, obviously) and may it foretell many good long nights to come And hope the joints stay stable for a good long while, too. Glad not exactly painful, but stiff not great either.

Indith, no sun ? Thats not fair. We're supposed to have some all week, so if you're still in darkness tomorrow will try to send you some...

All fine here, dds in great form, dh ok, me ok (if you don't count cough/cold, which I don't anymore), just had clear scan follow-up from polyp removal last year (was meant to be months ago, forgot ), dd2 has final apt with ENT on Friday...house not selling, but I don't mind much (apart from having to tidy every day for viewers, which I loathe, of course). So all in all,

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 16/03/2009 20:47

Happy birthday EV!

EustaciaVye · 16/03/2009 22:13

Thanks guys Back from nice dinner out with DH (first in a long time).

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 17/03/2009 13:54

I went out on Friday with DH - I was unusally excited about it as we haven't been out on our own for ages.

Glad you had a nice evening EV.

DH had a blood test as he still has swollen tonsils and under the weather after taking Abs and he's still going to work.

bebespain · 17/03/2009 20:14

EV - belated birthday greetings from me

LenniEd - I have no desire to potty train either (maybe that´s the real problem...) getting awful pressure from MIL though who reckons all 3 of hers were done and dusted by 12 months Yeah right!

Glad to hear you´re getting some lovely sunny weather - enjoy

LenniEd · 17/03/2009 20:35

Hello everyone, I was just about to try and catch up with everything but have decided to go to bed early for a change and clock up some much needed sleep hours so will catch up tomorrow instead. Hope you are all well - birthday tea sounds lovely EV.

castlesintheair · 18/03/2009 07:29

bebespain, that old chestnut: apparently I was potty trained at 8 months

Margo, hope your DH gets better soon

EustaciaVye · 18/03/2009 07:44

at 8 month potty trained. We did dd1 at this age but dd2 isnt ready, and nor am I. We're waiting till the sunny weather so I can do it outside.

jabberwocky · 18/03/2009 18:33

Happy belated birthday EV!

Eli, sorry the house thing is not working out. It's such a pain in the present climate, isn't it?

We are finally back from the big trip for my conference. I have met dh's sister for the very first time - We've only been together 9 1/2 years after all - and actually she was quite nice with a lovely sense of humor and a very well-stocked bar

Unfortunately, dh was sick the whole time, ds2 ran high fever the first two days and ds1 started up with the same bug on the plane home.

Will do my best to catch up on the thread.

Oh, and we're not even thinking of potty training yet

Elibean · 18/03/2009 20:41

thanks Jabber, sympathy welcome (you don't want a nice second home in SW London, do you? ). We've made a decision to restrict viewings to 3 days per week now, can't stand the stress of tidying daily in case of potential buyers: its driving me, and the dds, mad.

I'm sorry your ds and dh are sick, and hope you don't catch it - maybe you're fortified from sil's bar, and immune

I now have no voice (much to dds' delight ) and as for potties, dd2 insists on sitting on it before her bath every single night 'I doing my little teeny poopoo' but does nothing at all. Apart from very dramatic grunting noises. Thankfully (am also waiting for summer, which this isn't - in spite of amazing sunshine again today!).

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 18/03/2009 20:58

love the "teeny poopoo"

DD2 has a bruise upon a bruise upon a bruise.

Sunday - she tripped over the dog and knocked her head on the toy she was holding - Monday - she tried to get up onto the chair at music school and hit her head - today she ran into my room tripped and hit her head on the drawers and got a bump and a "carpet burn" for the latest incident. Gawd it looks awful. She definitely takes after me.

accessorizequeen · 18/03/2009 21:02

Ooh, bit behind, but I shall have a go.

Bebe, goodness May's not far away is it! How exciting, another baby for our group (is that like 60 lo's between us or something??) I suppose I really ought to book the coil being fitted but not that brave after all, will just put dp off sex for another month!

eli, your poor voice, how are you managing? Absolutely agree re: house viewings, I remember doing it when ds1 was 3 months, nightmare and not even toddlers around at that point. Hate hate hate the thought of ever doing it again but we must.

jabber, so sorry your trip turned into a bit of a nightmare for you all, you must be so relieved to be home and I guess don't want to plan something like that again for another decade!

Happy belated birthday, EV, glad you got a night out for it

Lennied, truly hope things work out with the joints and you can continue bf as you've done an outstanding job! I am finally enjoying it as much with just the one.

Indith, there's talk of a mn hull easter meetup, don't suppose you'd be around for that?

castles you sound happy

margo, hope dh gets well soon and work issues iron themselves out!

all well in aq land, I am getting out a lot more, had coffee with poss. new friend (yay) on sat, made it to twins club this week and have a date with another poss. new friend with 3mo for next week. Feeling much more positive AND the dt's are sleeping through. If only ds2 would bloody stop whining arggghhhhh. Pedantic doesn't even begin to describe his behaviour the last week. DP is just avoiding him now .

Elibean · 19/03/2009 07:58

Wow, impressive catching up AQ! Glad things are looking up.

Poor Margo's dd do you have any arnica handy? dd1 goes through amazingly clutzy phases, and I feel like strapping bumpers onto her then.

No voice at all now, wonder if reading with Reception kids this morning is such a bright idea?

EustaciaVye · 19/03/2009 08:02

Margo - My DD is sooooo clumsy. She is always civered in huge bruises. She is quite pigeon-toed and I think she actually falls over herself often . I actually have the HV coming over next week for advice to see if I need to do anything about it or if she'll grow out of it.

bebespain · 19/03/2009 08:18

Eli - sympathies from me too on the house front. Its got to be one of the worst things in the world, in fact I hate the whole process (and would only do it again to get back to England) I really hope the Spring sheds some new light on it for you...

Glad to see I´m not the only one putting off the dreaded potty training. I tried putting DS´s "Daddy pants" on him again yesterday and he went crazy, his way of telling me he clearly isn´t ready

AQ - was so glad to read your post, looks like things have turned a corner (may they stay that way) Glad to hear you´ve been getting out and about, it makes such a difference doesn´t it. Get me - like I´m the expert but when back in England and I have friends to meet up with I feel like a new person. (sigh)
Really understand the whining, DS has been a whining klingon for a while now and wants to be carried everywhere Drives me to distraction....

Yes May will be here all too soon and I really can´t believe how quickly its crept up... maybe me blocking it out for the last 6 months has something to do with it...

Margo - poor DD2

castlesintheair · 19/03/2009 11:50

Margo, DD2 is covered in war wounds too. She's got a big cut on her chin from when frolicking with her big sister got out of hand, that everyone keeps asking me about

castlesintheair · 19/03/2009 11:54

AQ DD2 has just seen your photos on FB and thinks DS is a "very pretty bebe"

LenniEd · 20/03/2009 21:56

Just checking in. Had a full night of sleep last night (DS slept 7.30pm - 6.30am ) so should feel good but been struck down with virus and was so jubilent this morning at renewed hope of sleep that took DD to 3 groups in one day and put my back out moving the sandpit. God only knows what I'd do if I get 2 nights sleep!

Am also pleased things are getting better there AQ. Hope the possible friends become friends - as Bebe says it makes all the difference.

Margo and Castles - your poor DD2's, hope they are less war wounded soon. My DD permanently has bruised shins from running around like a loon and having the inevitable accidents. She looks like she's been in a mangler.

Bebe - yes it will be here soon, make the most of having one - I made my first trip out today with just DD and it was lovely to have her to myself again. That said, I remember all too vividly late pg with a toddler to look after. It was hard.

Jabber and Eli - hope you are both recovering from lost voices/poorly DCs. The bugs go on and on this year.

Houses - No, not the best thing to have to do. Jabber - has yours gone through now?

OP posts:
bebespain · 20/03/2009 22:22

Wow LenniEd - hope there are many more wonderful nights of sleep like that to come! I remember DS doing something similar when he was a couple of months old, really led us into a false sense of security, that did! Doesn´t it make such a difference and really shows what sleep deprivation does to us. God help me when no2 arrives
Sorry to hear you put your back out though, you need that like a third ear!

Not much to tell really, DS has been in naughty mode today, its been one of those never-ending days...

Anyway I should be in bed hope you all have a good weekend
