Happy Birthday Eli Sorry about the houses.

AQ hope the PND woman is good and you get some positive action going.

Must admit I spent a while going "is sudocream safe to use on skin?" before realising that bums are indeed skin. My brain is clearly in a mush like state. Anyway sudocream is magic and chin is already much less red

Jabber hope the ABs work this time before you fly.

Hope my bloody ABs work too, only on my third round and still getting sodding discharge

Am supposed to be sorting out my cesspit of an office and turning it back into something approaching a dining room with a computer desk in the corner, best get cracking!

EustaciaVye · 11/03/2009 15:01

we just ordered a new bathroom. eek.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 11/03/2009 16:09

Ooh Ev - I'd love a new bathroom, but I'll have to stump up the money for an extension first. I cna't wait until September when my fixed rate ends and we can pay some more of the mortgage off.

LenniEd · 11/03/2009 16:45

I have my laptop back Am off to have a proper read and see what I've missed in my fleeting glances and will be back.

AQ - clothes arrived, thank you. Have yours got there?

Back in a jiffy...

LenniEd · 11/03/2009 21:38

Sorry, got distracted adding pics to fb - Indith caught me so thought I'd better get back to the thread.

Eli - Sorry to hear about the house(s), is a difficult time for houses which are stressful anyhow. I am not moving until I am old now, just couldn't face it. I hope another dream wreck comes along soon

EV - I've got bathroom envy. Really need to reseal our shower, keep putting it off.

Jabber and Indith - hope ABs sort everything out once and for all. at still having issues with your infection Indith, that must have been a stubborn one.

Castles - lost track somewhere, is DH ok but no bonus or are things still up in the air?

AQ - Will chase up parcel with DH, think he sent it recorded. Will text you. Clothes lovely thank you, will definitely get used.

I fed DS in a soft play place today in what I thought was a quiet spot. Turned out I'd sat right in front of the door to the store cupboard and the poor work experience boy who was sent to restock all the cards and things looked horrified when he had to clamber past me! The woman who runs the place was cackling at his embarrassment, poor lad. And DD, DS and I went pottery painting this afternoon [excited emoticon]. I am now the proud owner of a DS footprinted and DD handprinted mug, and Nanny now has a dog bowl decorated by DD as her birthday present. Have to pick them up next week as being fired in the kiln, but am so excited. Am already planning my next trip. DH looked very when I told him about my mug, think I'll have to make him one for Father's Day. And I have had 3...yes 3 hot cups of tea today. The world must be about to end, 'tis a miracle. Feel very proud of myself for managing a whole day out on my own with the DCs, normally got a friend with me to take up some of the slack. Didn't manage to use the toilet between 8am and 5pm but one step at a time eh!?

Oh, and did I mention I've got my laptop back ... can you tell?

OP posts:
LenniEd · 11/03/2009 21:41

missed out an for DH over the mug... the excitement of having my puter back (did I mention that?? ) has got the better of me. Night all

Elibean · 11/03/2009 22:09

Aha, I wondered what emoticon to use to fill in the mental gap that left

seemed a bit strong, did wonder about (its late, I'm knackered) or

There, nearly used 'em all

EV, bathrooms and kitchens have to be the most exciting bits to order - we'll live vicariously: tell more!

Glad the chin is less red, Indith...I had exactly the same sort of confusion about sudocreme, must be some sort of Brit brainwashing that makes us thinks bums are invalid as skin, somehow?!?

Well done, LenniEd, impressive day, not least on the part of your bladder (3 cups of tea....)

castlesintheair · 11/03/2009 22:15

Happy BD EB. Hope you have had a lovely day.

EustaciaVye · 12/03/2009 09:24

Happy Birthday for yesterday Eli.

My new bathroom will be slate floor, white sink, loo and walk in shower. No bath - we are getting rid as we have on in our en suite. Wall tiles will be white with a black mosaic border mid height. The loo and sink will be built into cupboards for storage. Chrome accessories and heated towel rail.

Elibean · 12/03/2009 14:08

Thank you

EV, that sounds very cool - like the storage bit, that way you stand a chance of keeping it looking new and clean-lined!

bebespain · 12/03/2009 15:30

Hi everybody

Been a while - came back to Spain feeling less than happy, DS had a rotten cough for ages, really mucked up his sleeping, and I´ve been off colour too and have had the most awful bout of piles EVER! Sorry if TMI, I don´t want to make anyone feel ill. I didn´t know whether to laugh or cry this morning when I found DS with an Anusol moustache

Did somebody mention potty training? I can´t get DS to even sit on his potty for a second and he runs off when I even say the word. I feel its going to be a long hard slog...

Castles - glad to hear your DH has still got a job but sorry about you having to move

AQ - hope things are on the up...??

Hope any poorly LOs are getting better

Anyway that´s me for now my keyboard is knackered, (keys missing) another of DS´s mischiefs!

LenniEd · 12/03/2009 16:08

Hi bebe - how are the plans to come home progressing? Hope that bump is treating you well too. When are you due? June was it??

Bathroom sounds lovely EV. Am very - we have cupboards under the sink in our en suite and they are so so useful. Have locks on them and store all the cleaning products in there out of DD's reach.

Had mine and DS's 6wk checks today (at 9 weeks ) and all ok except my joints are inflammed so got to see my rheumatologist and DS has an umbilical hernia, but apparently they are very common and probably will go without any treatment. Can't do anything about the arthritis while I'm breastfeeding but my GP wants there to be a care plan set up for when I stop and wants me to have my knees and hands x-rayed to monitor the joint damage as haven't been doen since before I got pg with DD. GP also wanted me to have a mirena coil or implant - left it open for now but think I might go with the implant, don't fancy having a coil fitted. DS now 13lb 12oz bless him, he's a guzzler!

OP posts:
Elibean · 12/03/2009 22:14

Sorry to hear that about your joints, LenniEd, that sounds hard to deal with...I'm no good on contraception/coils, but good luck deciding. Are you in pain? You're doing a great job feeding your ds, thats for sure...

Hey Bebe, welcome-back-in-Spain (even though you wish you weren't, iyswim). I also had horrible pile problems with both pgs, you have my utmost sympathies (and no such thing as tmi on mn, surely?!) though at ds's moustache.

My big news: dd2 peed on the potty (definitely not my idea, and probably a one-off) before her bath last night, on demand. Then this morning, I was woken up by heavy breathing at floor level by our bedroom door (in loft, remember) and there was a little head saying 'hello Mumma'. She'd climbed the stairs on her own - probably peanuts to most 2 yr olds, but brand new to dd, who only walked at 18 months.

I did suggest she call me next time, in case she hurt herself, but she said very matter of factly: 'no Mumma, I can do it, I can weeeely do it'. I guess she can, too

accessorizequeen · 12/03/2009 22:25

Ooh, new bathroom sounds fab, ev

margo, how's things at work these days?

bebe, good to have you back, did at the moustache hee hee

eli, many happy returns for Tuesday (it was tuesday wasn't it?) but re: no house wrecks on the horizon. DS2 walked at 17 months so I know what you mean, bless her! Out of interest, can she jump? He seems so clunky compared to other toddlers, perhaps I'm judging him too harshly (well worried about his development as speech is going nowhere). Hope there is more peeing tomorrow but not joining in with you and castles!

indith, hope ab's are kicking in and finally working. When r u down my way again so I get to meet dd??

Lennied, I was meaning to ask about your joints and completely forgot until you posted. Poor you, but brilliant to be breastfeeding despite it all, can't believe you relaxed you are about it all compared to me first time round! Mind you, I am loving feeding dd now, ds2 is happiness personified on bottles so all's well there.

spd bit better, but best get off the computer before I get stiff again!

accessorizequeen · 12/03/2009 22:27

Oh, and I had a coil fitted, twas excellent although a little uncomfortable. Guess I shall have to have another in as dp seemingly not doing anything to ensure we have no more children. You'd think I'd done enough, 4 dc's, 3 births, one operation, wouldn't you?? Just a little snip for him?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 12/03/2009 22:34

bebe - you just cannot imagine what I'm visualising....

Lennied - my friend has had some viral thing which has affected her joints - it's only a temporary thing, goodness knows how you cope with it day to day.

Things are happening behind the scenes at work. A few of my colleagues have been called in for questioning regarding my friends situation.

Elibean · 13/03/2009 12:09

Margo, not sure what that could mean for your friend, but fingers crossed....and re the visuals you just inspired

AQ, no, not jumping, no way - and dd1 didn't jump with two feet till at least 2.5 either. Wish she wouldn't do it now, so hard, when I'm in the room underneath I don't think not jumping is a worry at all atm, really. Is there anything else you're worried about with ds, other than speech? I have very wobbly toddlers, physically (no more pee today, phew), but they seem to turn out ok so don't think clunky matters at this age? Glad spd better, but re snips and coil situation - men and their appendages, eh.

Oooh, just seen the icons. Am going to read stories to kids in PJs this afternoon at dd's school, they're melding Book Week and Comic Relief into one...with free hot chocolate from Starbucks

EustaciaVye · 13/03/2009 12:14

I like these icons

castlesintheair · 13/03/2009 12:55

Hope work isn't too grim Margo. DH is now waiting to be replaced by a team from another house. Oh joy.

Welcome back Bebe. Sorry about the piles cute emoticon is for my benefit, am not laughing at your discomfort. Honestly!

Sent DS & DD1 off to school with beautiful face painted red noses today.

castlesintheair · 13/03/2009 12:57

Now why didn't that work?

Indith · 13/03/2009 13:42

Love the icons

Ace

AQ not sure....dh away for a week at some point so need to book myself into the hotel oh and no jumping here either, think ours walked at similar ages. Speech-wise I wouldn't worry too much, his understanding is good isn't it? How often do you get new words? Remember some kids don't even start until 2. A friend had her dd assessed for hearing problems etc as she didn't even babble, she is getting the hang of talking now and is a couple of months older than yours.

Bebe, ouch. I feel your pain. Literally. Ds has yet to get into face painting though

Lennied that must be some good stuff oyu produce. Hope the joints don't get too bad, you are amazing. I had a coil fitted after ds, it fell out but the fitting not too bad. Cramping after not nice but it settles down quickly and it is good to not have to think about contraception (usually!) Easier to remove too, guess that depends on how sure you are regarding more dcs!

I don't feel quite "done" on the child front Am shattered, dd still feeding a lot at night, ds still has terrors (but has moved himself into big boy bed ) yes somehow I want more. Just not quite yet!

EV very of the bathroom. I wanna house to do things to!

Eli enjoy your hot chocolate.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 13/03/2009 23:35

Had to try them for myself.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 13/03/2009 23:35

lovely lovely pictures AQ and Lennied

bebespain · 14/03/2009 09:07

Happy Red Nose Day for yesterday - hope you all had some fun

LenniEd - sorry to hear about your joints, ouch, that must be painful and DS umbilical hernia But hey, what a brilliant weight! You must be doing a fab BFing job!

Bump treating me well thanks Yes I am due in June but was told last week they shall be doing an elective CS some time around 19th May (yikes - scary emoticon) Am measuring two weeks bigger than I should be so another "corker" on the way!!!

AQ - ouch on the coil front but how brave are you, I stand in awe!!!

Eli - thanks for the sympathy, have got some "lovely" cream now from my equally "lovely" Gynae so things down below are much improved A big "Wayhey" to DD2 for doing a pee on the potty. I´ve a feeling DS is a loooong way from doing that yet....

Margo - hope the visuals weren´t too traumatising!!!!

Indith - that´s great news on the big boy bed, bless him! We braved Ikea last week and bought a bed, lovely animal bed covers, pillow etc, etc I really thought DS was more than ready as had been climbing into our bed and saying "night, night" Well the novelty lasted about 10 mins and then he was screaming at the top of the stairs....toddlers they´re so fickle!!

Have a lovely weekend all

Elibean · 14/03/2009 09:30

Castles when will your dh have news? Or is that a piece of string type question?
