olihan - talk to bythepowerofgreyskull onthe flylady threads. she posted a photo yesterday of lots of cakes she's done recently. not sure if professional or not.

castlesintheair · 28/05/2009 14:50

Thanks for all the trampoline advice OT says we really need to get one for DS so I just need to persuade cumudgeonally-chops a.k.a. DH.

Oli, that sound's wonderful! Am quite How great to start a business doing something you are so talented at. Go for it!

DD2 is so sick She vomitted again today. She's had the runs all week. She's so thin. And stoical. Sob! Have had to cancel everything and DS & DD1 are going bonkers.

MIL has offered to come and stay with the DCs for 3 nights whilst I accompany DH to Scotland in June Must be some guilt-related offer. Not that I am going to question it too much

bebespain · 28/05/2009 18:42

Hi all

Just to let you know DS2 arrived safely on the 21st at 3.40pm weighing 7.5lbs, came complete with two bottom teeth!

We have named him Alejandro, (Alex to family and friends), had a total nightmare agreeing on a name and only decided 2 days ago!

The CS was FANTASTIC, totally different to first time round - thank goodness (Eli and Jabber you were right!)It has totally restored my faith in the medical profession and I couldn´t have been looked after better. The morphine afterwards was a great bonus too!

Anyway, I feel really good and Alex is feeding like a trooper, sleeping lots and his big brother seems to be getting used to having him around Pinches his nose any chance he gets whilst giggling and chanting "new baby, new baby"

Thnaks again ladies for all your support and help in calming my nerves!

Will be back some time later.....

MaggieTulliver · 28/05/2009 18:46

Yay. Congratulations bebe and welcome bebealex

2 teeth at birth - blimey!

castlesintheair · 28/05/2009 18:50

Congrats to Bebe and Babe

Olihan · 29/05/2009 00:32

Oh hooray, lots of congratulations, Bebe . 2 teeth - wow!

Elibean · 29/05/2009 09:59

Yeay!!! Congrats Bebe, welcome bebeAlex, teeth and all

All that finger drumming worth it then

Very good news.

Will catch up later, have just heard buyer wants to complete mid June will delay till end of month, but still utterly inundated with stuff to do! Also wedding this weekend, dd1 flower girl, how to tame toddler and calm 5yr old in crowd of overexcited ILs...basically, am in a spin. Hope to make more sense later.

But have just about clocked there's a trampoline convo going on, which is great because its on our list of what to get when we finally find somewhere to move to: you all sound like experts

Elibean · 29/05/2009 10:01

Thanks for the aunt sympathies, btw...she's being very brave, and actually diagnosed herself and took herself off to a neurologist. Hopefully Arocept (sp?) will stall the progression, when she starts it - at least she caught it early.

jabberwocky · 29/05/2009 17:38

Congrats bebe!! Wow, two teeth, I've heard of that before but never actually known anyone who experienced it I'm so glad the cs went well. IMO it's the only way to give birth

How very brave of your aunt to self-refer, eli.

LenniEd · 29/05/2009 21:05

Wonderful news Bebe - glad it all went well and hope you are enjoying gettting to know your new son. Put those feet up as much as you possibly can and don't refuse one single offer of help... that's an order!

Eli - very sorry to hear about your Aunt, but glad it has been caught early. Good luck with the wedding and the house move.

Hello! Back from deepest, darkest Wales!

Oli is lovely, her smallest dcs are lovely too, am very impressed at how the boys got along given that they had never met before. Dh now wants a dog even more than he did before

Congrats bebe!

Shall save all further catching up til later, have a dh I need to go cuddle with after a week of many relatives, holidays with FIL and dp, BIL and dp and my parents don't exactly give you much snuggle time and of course dd undid all our good sleep work so there was no snuggling after lights out. Well, I got lots of baby snuggles

Indith · 29/05/2009 21:40

Oh and we seem to have bought a house

MaggieTulliver · 29/05/2009 21:46

wow indith.

just been watching britain's got talent. eek.

dh goes away on sunday for a week. i've had a very shouty half term so am hoping the routine of school/preschool will get things vack on track.

Olihan · 29/05/2009 22:30

Indith, I forgot about the dog and your DH. He got plenty of snuggles from her to make up for what he missed on holiday (unless you're talking about grown up cuddles , I think that may be illegal). The adoration was pretty mutual, wasn't it?

Hooray for the house, is it the one you were telling me about?

Indith and Eli on the move, how exciting (she says, having sworn never to move house again, ever).

LenniEd · 30/05/2009 22:33

Fab news on house... tell us more when you can.

Job apps taking over my life atm, back properly soon.

DH and I had a big talk about things and think we might both try to get part-time jobs if we can. Just going to see what happens really. If something good comes up full time for me I'm going to apply though since I'm more employable than him. I'm feeling a bit down about it now, I'll miss my babies and I'm really not ready to give up my chance to see all of DS's firsts with walking and things especially since I know he will be my last. I have a much stronger bond with him than I did DD as a baby partly due to being able to feed him and also since DD was such hard work and then there was the AND I had with her pregnancy... anyway I would be sad to leave him, where as with her I went back to work quite happily to finish my contract and it was only when I'd gone back that I felt close to her and couldn't wait to finish. I'm waffling... nothing changes eh.

Elibean · 31/05/2009 15:55

Indith congrats on the house!! Is it similar to the one you showed us? (Warning: obsessed with houses atm)

LenniEd, two p/t jobs sounds great...I really that works out for you, sounds so balanced somehow. Its so true taht knowing your youngest is your last does add to the difficulty in being away from them - I got the nursery papers through for dd last week, and felt unreasonably cross, as though they were tearing my baby away from me. Whereas with dd1, I was quite excited Fingers crossed for it all working out.

Margo, how is your job hunt going?

dd1 had a 5yr old's day in heaven yesterday, being loved and adored as flower girl at her cousin's wedding: perfect weather, perfectly behaved, gorgeous dress, a bevvy of grown-up bridesmaids petting her....lovely

Oh, and the bride wasn't bad either

castlesintheair · 31/05/2009 17:43

Having the worst half-term on record here. That I can remember Sickness has swept through the house, one at a time of course. Except for me. I've been feeling ill all week but aren't allowed to be.

Then my darling neighbour, slipped off her ladder last night in her garden and I managed to climb over the fence to help her. Not a pretty sight I'm so pleased we happened to see it (DH did) as she needed 8 stiches and has internal bleeding and a damaged back . She's in Charing X which is the best place of course but I'm so worried about her.

MaggieTulliver · 31/05/2009 19:42

castles - you poor thing. Hope you avoid it.

eli - my dds are flower girls in the summer

lennied - i know a couple who both work part-time and share the childcare. It works well. I thought your DH had his own business? Is it not going well?

eek - potties dd2 being a nightmare. i think she is very confused but she s so determined about EVERYHTHING it is hard work.

Elibean · 31/05/2009 21:11

Castles is it sickness as in vomiting, or sickness as in colds etc? Very unfair to have sicky bugs of any sort at this time of year, hope you feel better v soon. Imagine seeing your neighbour fall was horrible, poor you and, of course, poor her...how scary. A friend's colleague fell off a ladder last week and fractured his skull (is ok, but spent a week on obs in hospital): ladders are a mixed blessing. Hope she's ok.

MT, your dds will love it. Be prepared for endless wedding role plays afterwards. And the potty thing sounds scarily familiar: dd2 is equally stubborn, and confused, and the two are a dodgy mix. I'm comforting myself with the thought that our carpets won't be ours for much longer, and our buyer will rip them out to build an extension anyway. Still 'actually Mumma I going wear pants today' strikes a chill in my heart, because I know it will be followed by a cheery 'look, Mumma, I did a peepee in sitting room! not in the potty, on the TABLE '. She genuinely thinks its great, too

LenniEd · 31/05/2009 21:20

No Maggie - business not going well. Victim of the times really. We need one of us to get another job but DH can't go full time since needs to keep the business going. It's a bit of a mess. We need to think, but of course there is no time for that.

Nursery Eli? When? DD starts pre-school in Jan - I am looking forward to it. 4 mornings a week, although will prob do 2 for a start. Will be bliss - if I am still home that is!

Glad wedding was fab - hope to see some gorgeous pics on fb soon - hint hint!

castlesintheair · 31/05/2009 21:23

DD1 was like that re the potty! You get there in the end DD2 still has mishaps and finds it hilarious esp in this hot weather when she keeps stripping off. She did a pooh on a bed this morning, just after DD1 had thrown up!

Yes it is vomiting. I had a humdinger of a cold too. My forte. My guts are made of iron.

Just heard my neighbour might have to have an op (internal head bleed). It could have been the cause of the fall so good thing it happened, I guess.

Bebe has posted some beautiful pics of her babes on FB btw. They really are crackers

Elibean · 31/05/2009 22:46

FB has rather gone by the wayside for me, recently. Will try to do better.

Castles, hope neighbour's op goes well, still sounds scary. I am also of the cast iron stomach variety, so is dd1 - not sure about dd2 yet, but so far no sickness bug experience. Colds though, lord yes, endless. Hope they all get better fast.

LenniEd, should have said pre-school....its called a nursery, but its pre-school. September, for 3 mornings per week. See, I looked forward to it with dd1 too...but with dd2? No. Not yet, anyway. Very odd.

jabberwocky · 01/06/2009 13:33

Congrats on the house Indith!

Hope the neighbor comes through everything, castles, Sounds scary

I hate tummy bugs, maybe you are done with the worst of it now.

LenniEd, hoping some type(s) of job comes along that makes everything clear for you. I went through similar craziness last year and it is SO stressful.

eli at the lovely flower girl. I took the dcs to see Coppelia yesterday and it didn't go very well. Was not surprised at ds2 who was rather young but very disappointed in ds1's behavior.

jabberwocky · 01/06/2009 13:42

Have ventured onto FB and seen pics. Baby Alex is sooo cute!

Ignorant tecchie question: I can't find the "Groups" tab on FB anymore. Where are we?

castlesintheair · 01/06/2009 16:08

Jabber, it should be in your info section which is on your profile, somewhere near the bottom of that page should be your groups.

DD1 has stopped vomiting now so I am hoping tomorrow will be the start of a new dawn
