Hiya, just passing through as DH watches the snooker. We are a bit snotty, although could be due to teething, but fine apart from that. DS did his first solo steps today! Only one or two before lurching into our arms, but that's good enough in our book!
I've had food successes this week with chicken nuggets (the "Enid" recipe!), home made pitta bread pizza and ratatouille. However, can't get DS to pick up and eat vegetables on their own! Am calming myself by thinking of all the dishes I make that have vegetables in and just to keep persevering with the finger food ones. GeorginaA - are you going through AK recipe by recipe? I have tended to miss out the ones that I know I will never ever make for the rest of us (semolina - yuk yuk yuk !!!) so we have started the toddler section this week. We do embrace the liver ones though which I know will make a lot of people shudder
We have no plans for another baby at all. Two is our limit and I am very grateful for the lovely children we have.
Am I right in thinking that Prufrock now has a one year old???

Good Luck with the new baby Kbaby.

Well, had a big day today I took both girls swimming all by myself and we all survived

Dd1 is in group swimming lessons but because the instructor isn't in the water with her she's not very confident. I spoke to a friend who's dd goes to one to one classes and she gave me the teachers number so today dd1 had her first one to one lesson. It's not cheap I can tell you at £7 for half and hour, yes you read that right HALF an hour. Plus I have to pay for dd to go in for a swim so I decided that I'd bite the bullet and go in as well with dd2. Bought her the cutest little swimsuit from Asda this morning then got her one of those inflatable chair things.
So dd1 had her lesson while I sat in the shallows with dd2 in her chair, she loved it she was watching all the other kids splashing about and was kicking her legs so she was very happy. Tried to have a drink of the water as well but decided that it wasn't very nice.
There is a baby pool with snakes that spit out water and little slides and things. We had a little walk about in there, about an inch of water in that part. She loved the snakes with the sprays of water. It was great fun much better than when we first took dd1 swimming as a baby when she screamed the whole time. I think dd2 might be the water baby. Dd1 got on very well in her lesson as well, the teacher says she just needs to build up her confidence as she's very reluctant to put her head under the water. She got goggles today so she wasn't as bad as she usually is but still not keen on the unknown qualities of putting her head under the water.

Sorry to hear about your job spots.

Egypt, I didn't know you were going to Egypt, sounds exciting.

Hi all, sorry to crash in but I'm just visiting from the due in may05 thread for some inspiration and encouragement. You all sound as if you are enjoying your lovely babies so much, and now you have lots of first birthdays to look forward to.
None of us have had our babies early, so hopefully the next four weeks or so will be pretty busy for us. Can't wait til next may
Good luck with your may toddlers

Hiya Northstar! Funny that you came on our thread because I was just thinking about May 2005 babies yesterday - had a dip into your thread and a reminisce about this time last year...
If you have a look at our earlier threads, it's amazing what a difference a year can make. All the earlier threads are about swaddling, settling, feeding, burping etc. etc. Now it's all walking and first words...and it's a lot more laid back! Hope it goes well for you all xxx
Helsy - LOL at your DH and his trousers! (oooooh - PMSL escapes you once again )

Hi Northstar! Yes I was thinking about you all too. Last year seems a lifetime ago (suppose it was, for the babies in this thread!) Hope you're all feeling nice and excited... shall be checking for new May babies now.

GeorginaA · 01/05/2005 14:07

It's May!

I've started a May toddlers thread for us to move over there and leave the May babies threads (sniffle our babies have all grown up!) to the class of 2005!

Best wishes to Northstar and all the other new May mummies Please may we crash from time to time to send you our love?
