i have a 3 week old baby and im struggling to get him to sleep in the night. He wakes every 2 hours and leaves some of his bottle. I am so tired i have lost the will to do anything. My health visitor said i have to teach him night from day by keeping him awake as much as possible in the day so he sleeps more at night but i find this is easier said than done, i tried everything to keep him awake and nothing works he is just out for the count after every feed in the day and awake every 2hours in the night - can anyone give me any advice please i am sooo tired i don't know wat else to do

I had the same problem for the first two weeks then after a short spell in hospital due to poor feeding i continued with the routine they had set during that time. Due to having to wake him for feeding the sleeping was structured around this which meant he stayed awake more during the day and eventually ate better. I don't know if you are able to get out and about also as when I left hospital i added an afternoon walk everyday to see more of the daylight. It really is each person's own opion but I can say that on following this I was intially getting up once in the night then at eight weeks he slept through until 6am and (unless ill!!) he has done ever since.
I totally feel for you as i know you become so tired you can't even think straight. I also got the same advice from my health visitor by the way!!
