You are way prettier than the average white South African woman who is all fake blonde, bling and a very loud voice!

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 11:36

Aw thanks TMAS.

We have a picture of me on Christmas Day sitting at the pool, which is so strange to look at now! I'm so glad I got to experience growing up in a different country, it often makes me wonder whether L would benefit from it too.

MKG · 22/12/2008 13:58

Good morning all! Is everyone ready for Christmas?

LG&T I just opened you parcel. Thank you soooo much. I love it! But what is this about no return address, I can't even send a thank-you card or anything. Thank you so much though. I really appreciate it.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 22/12/2008 14:07

Glad you liked it MKG and it only took just over a week to get across the pond! I thought you could pack the wee smellies in your hospital bag and stuff the food obviously.

What did the midwife say JAM? All well i hope, some babies look very yellow but are not too bad. Hope they let you stay home with him. Stick him in the window for the sun [fhhm] and feed him lots.

We are packing the car up for tomorrow. I have just sorted the 4 big boys clothes out. DD is doing her own and B is sleeping so will have to do his last. I have not packed mine yet. The hospital bag is coming too and the tarpauline just in case. I am waiting to hear from the midwife as i need to pick up the delievry pack today. It is all getting a bit close >

MKG · 22/12/2008 14:54

Oh and I forgot to mention we finally decided on a name for this baby.

Alycia.

Not A-lee-sha. But Aly-see-a I suck at phonetics.

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 22/12/2008 15:09

Lovely name MKG

JamInMyWellies · 22/12/2008 15:17

MKG thats lovely.

Midwife said not to worry we are doing all the right things to get it sorted. Just wish my nips would heal up think I have sorted the latch now just got to wait for them to become 2 leathery little buttons.

PJ bless your DH thats the sort of thing I would do. I am soo not cultured wont even pretend to be.

GIRLS ALOUD ooh how I would love to do that but we are more skint than ever.

So we took A to the docs this morning so he could have a look at his poor bashed tooth honestly we went in there with a list of ailments, me begging something other than paracetamol for my what DP is calling man flu and then lachie with his sticky eye. Apparantly A's tooth will either fall out or we can pull it back ourselves but it hasnt damaged any other teeth or affect his big teeth. Lachie has anti b's for his eye but bless the doc he said my boob milk would be just as good.

LG&T have a fabbo Christmas.

Oh by the way which of you lot has been invited to join the secret society, am I the only one not give a flying hootenanny about there being a seperate sect that you have to be invited to join one trouser leg halfway rolled up and all that

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 15:29

I need some help ladies.

L has been making a weird grunting sound when she exhales. Not on every breath, and not all the time, just for periods. We've been to A&E about this before, and they told us that kids often do this when they've got a cold (which she does) as they don't know to clear their throats, so it's a way to keep their airway open. She had to have a chest X-ray and stuff and once they said that was clear, and they could see she wasn't in any respiratory distress, they just sent us home and she was fine.

She's doing it again, M just put her on the phone and I could hear her. I have organised for her to go to the doctors with him at 4.30pm, but I am freaking out now. She doesn't appear to be struggling to breathe, no blueness, no depressed chest or neck, nothing like that.

But I am crying at my desk.

Perspective, please. I am imagining blue lights, ambulances, X-rays etc and me not being there.

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 22/12/2008 15:34

Ok, so this has happened before and they told you not to worry. Difficult i know but please try and stay calm.

M is taking her to the Dr's and they will be able to put your mind at ease. If she does need to go to a&e then at least she is with her daddy and not the nursery.

There is a lot going around at the moment and each child reacts differently.

You have done the right thing by sending her to the doctors.

JamInMyWellies · 22/12/2008 15:37

Pink lovey read back your post - the doctors have told you previously its what children do sometimes. Take a few deep breaths go for a 5 min walk and calm down.

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 15:38

Now I'm even more worried that none of your LOs have ever done it.

JamInMyWellies · 22/12/2008 15:41

Pink, A makes so many random noises I couldnt tell you what they were half the time he may well have done the wierd noise but because I am such a slack mummy I havnt noticed.

MKG · 22/12/2008 15:42

PJ--Relax. You've done everything you can do for now. Wait for the doctor to tell you something. It is probably something simple, and no big deal.

If you've been through this before and it was nothing, this may just be her reaction to illness. Just make sure she is drinking fluids (as she may not be eating if she's sick). Figure if she still has energy, is eating, and drinking, and is sleeping relatively ok than she is probably just fine.

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 15:43

I'm so scared they're going to send her to hospital.

Themasterandsnowballs · 22/12/2008 15:44

Deep breath, keep perspective indeed dear Pink, it sounds like she is a bit croupy from your description. She is with daddy so will be fine and good on him for getting stuck in like that. Fingers crossed.

Jam, you sound so very with it. I am in awe. Love the FB pics, especially the one of you, how do you manage to look so glamorous???? Your birth story brough a tear to my eye. Lovely.

MKG, if you had said Aleeeshaa I would have had to make a Cod-like comment. But I just love Alycia, gorgeous.

Are you ready for the off LG&T? Please don't have this baby until we are all around do you hear? Have a lovely time.

Themasterandsnowballs · 22/12/2008 15:45

Hold on, I missed the secret society bit, what's that all about?

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 15:46

I was doing so well.

Themasterandsnowballs · 22/12/2008 15:48

You are doing well, look you have let Mark go with her and you are still at work. Well done. She will be fine, just keep saying that to yourself.

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 15:49

Mark says she is eating an ice cream and has been running around like a loony and I am insane.

MKG · 22/12/2008 15:50

Pink--Do you have a humidifier? If so tell M to put it on. I'm sure this cold, dry air is not helping her if she does only have a cold.

JamInMyWellies · 22/12/2008 15:51

Tis hilarious TMAM I obviously am spending way too much time on MN at themo but search for MOLDIES.

PJ please love try to calm down she is with her Daddy all will be ok.

Themasterandsnowballs · 22/12/2008 15:52

I would say there is not much to worry about then.

Themasterandsnowballs · 22/12/2008 16:10

I bet LG&T is a MOLDIE and SOH too, c'mon 'fess up . I suppose those that decided to leave had to go somewhere...

Pinkjennybellrock · 22/12/2008 16:11

I thought that about SOH! LG&T allegedly knows nothing about it!

Themasterandsnowballs · 22/12/2008 16:13

She's very diplomatic that one. Of course she knows.
