They told me in nursery last night that they had been singing Jingle Bells. So I started singing it to L when we got in, and she shouted, 'no mummy' and went and hid behind the couch.

Surely my singing isn't that bad?

MmeJaffaB · 11/12/2008 09:48

Thought some of you with older children might want to do one of these. You can watch the one I've done for M on the link below and then click on HOME to start one of your own. It's really easy and very quick. So cute!

personalised message from father christmas

Happy Birthday Tilly!!!! not PJ

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/12/2008 12:02

MJB - I've done one of those messages for dsd and one for me Tilly. They're fab - even dh was impressed (and he's the biggest bah hunbug going - you ought to have seem him help me put up the tree last night - it was like pulling teeth !)

Thanks for the b'day wishes. I'm feeling very old and think like Scoot, I might just pretend its not happening

JamInMyWellies · 11/12/2008 12:39

Happy Birthday Tillly.

Right PIL rant coming up, feel free to ignore.

So we asked PIL to look after A when I went into labor as they are the closest to us obviously I would prefer my parents but my mum cant drive anymore and they live a good hour and half away. Anyway, just seen them this morning and I was saying you know if it happens during the day I would prefer A to not be at home as I dont want to labor with A running around and they said they would just sit in the living room with him they know if I am in the house A will not go to them so it would be better for them to take him out or go to their house. AArrgghh I told them all this months ago there is no way I want them and Archie here when I am in labor and now they are being huffy about taking him out FFS. Why is nothing ever simple. I have already had to deal with SIL being stroppy about them looking after A this is really not what I need right now to be panicing that they dont actually want to look after A. At this rate I will end up keeping him with me and having him swimming in the birthing pool with me.

Pinkjennybellrock · 11/12/2008 15:00

BTW Mrs JB - I've just pinched your 'foolproof' cake recipe from another thread. It sounds exactly like the kind of comfort food I need when I have a stinkin cold like this.

BF update - she has starting having pains, and has vomited twice, so I'm thinking it's going to be soon!

Jam - they're being pathetic. Remind them of the conversation you had and the reasons for not wanting A in the house. Tell them you thought it had been agreed. Say things like, 'Would you prefer me to make other arrangements?' and tell SIL to shove off. Nosy cow. Is she 40 weeks pregnant? No.

Pinkjennybellrock · 11/12/2008 16:03

The stuff I have ordered online today covers an entire piece of A4.

MmeJaffaB · 11/12/2008 16:06

Say it like it is PJ. xx

Jam they are being unreasonable but it will be ok on the day. If you start Mooing/ screaming loudly they'll scarper for sure. Stick to your guns though, if you don't want them there. As for SIL.... what PJ says.

Pinkjennybellrock · 11/12/2008 16:11

I can't bear it when arrangements are made and then people start dithering. Grrrr. Dh is especially irritating as we'll agree something, and then when I bring it up again (usually in front of someone), he'll say 'Are we?'.

OMG, my blood is boiling just thinking about it.

MmeJaffaB · 11/12/2008 16:15

PJ, have you seen my response post on the cake thread? glad you are going to make it. x

If I told you I've drunk too much wine and it's only 5.15pm here, would you think less of me? Ladies Christmas Lunch......! Dad drove. I have to give the wine up!

Pinkjennybellrock · 11/12/2008 16:18

Oh I want to crack open the wine too now! But I am dosed up on cold and flu-type products!

Of course we wouldn't think less of you - its Christmas!!!

Pinkjennybellrock · 11/12/2008 16:19

Maybe she thinks opening the box and putting it in the oven constitutes making one?

Or maybe she is just lazy.

Pinkjennybellrock · 11/12/2008 16:20

I keep posting everything twice. Gah!

Themasterandsnowballs · 11/12/2008 16:28

That's how Americans all bake, even here, where someone else can do it for you . Perhaps she is American. They are all bonkers, not so MKG? Apart from you because secretly you are a Brit. You have the right sense of humour.

Happy Birthday Tilly

And breathe Jam. As Mrspisshead JB says, as soon as they hear you at it, they will scarper!

Pass the wine over here my good friend. It never does anyone any harm to have a tipple or two or three or four....

I wonder if my babies are being eaten by lions yet?

MmeJaffaB · 11/12/2008 16:33

Jam - no advice from me because I am officially shite at confrontation but grrrrrr on your behalf

Themasterandsnowballs · 11/12/2008 17:36

Tetu is stubborn, just like me J. Alternatively it appears to be France's leading lesbian and gay magazine.

More wine please.

MmeJaffaB · 11/12/2008 17:55

Thanks TMAM, I have told H, He responded with what does stubborn mean. lol We'll get there. I told him it was just like his sister.

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/12/2008 18:55

Themasterandsnowballs · 11/12/2008 19:22
