AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 08/12/2008 10:17

Why dont you call and say that it is not possible to get to her and perhaps her community mw could pop in to you. It only takes a minute to take BP

twelveyeargap · 08/12/2008 11:23

LG&T - Since you're homebirth, can't a HB midwife pop in on you later? Do you have a nearby pharmacy with a blood pressure gauge so you can check it yourself and phone them with details? FWIW, I was swollen with the two girls, and not really with O.

Poor Beau. Do you have Metanium? I've never had to use it, thankfully, but my friend swears by it. It's like axle grease it's so thick.

Have to phone the sodding AA now. DH left the lights on in the little car, so my grand plan for dropping the children off at the minder and heading straight for Mothercare World and Ikea this morning was foiled. The Jag is still dead outside the front door. DH hasn't gotten around to taking it to the authorised repair place, so I'm phoning my usual local guy to sort it out. What a palaver.

DH has just had his salary cut in half, so no chance of a new car now. He should be getting the difference more or less made up in a bonus in Jan '10, but we can't count on it. Bugger. DH wants to sit down and go through expenditure so I fear for the cleaner and childminder. The trainer has been reduced from twice to once a week as of yesterday, but I strongly suspect I will be giving it up entirely in the near future. Obviously we are not on the breadline, I am only talking about unnecessary luxuries. I just feel bad about taking work away from other people.

largeginandtonic · 08/12/2008 12:02

We have metanium, is yellow grease! Good though, but i thnk bepanthen is better. I think it is teeth related

He is in bed now and hopefully dh will be home soon. I need to wrap up little pressies for santa to give them later but can only find Happy Birthday paper!!

TYG about the car, your morning sounds as foiled as mine.

I have been on the phone paying various people and chasing up claims... oh what fun.

Will phone the midwife when i get back after school, the local birth center is only just down the road so am hoping they just see me there quickly. Really hoping they don't put me on the blardy CTG machine as i always show spectacular contractions and they will keep me in! They are just BH i am not holding a baby yet and have been having them for weeks.

Party starts at 1230 do i go for the Happy Birthday paper?

MKG · 08/12/2008 12:32

Good morning all.

Christmas tree is decorated. Half the presents are wrapped, and I went to the worst third birthday party ever yesterday. It was baaaad. You know a party is bad when Mateo says "Mom I don't like this cake you have it". I thought I was going to pass out when I heard that.

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 08/12/2008 14:42

Hi all,

of MGMT TYG. I tried very hard to get tickets for that gig!

I cant see pictures..no fair.Put some on profile Tilly >>wheedling voice>hands gin a mug of Spanish Hot Chocolate

AbbyLou · 08/12/2008 17:28

Scoot, glad at least one of you is feeling better. i hope you het something sorted at the drs this pm.
LGT, did you get your bp checked. Better to be safe than sorry I'd say but you're the expert here. I hope you're noting that I'm posting for the second day in a row, that is unheard of for me recently!
I have been to work today as C was much improved when he got up and according to the cm he has been fine all day, just a little quiet.
I need to ask those of you with older children something about birthday parties. Are replies to invitations always really slow to come back? C's party is a week on Satruday and he took his inviatations to Nursery a week ago. So far I've had two replies and they are both from parents I nkow anyway! I'm getting really worried that no-one will want to come to his party bless him. If anyone turns up on the day I'll go mad, there'll be no food or party bag fro them as I have to confirm numbers 2 days before!

largeginandtonic · 08/12/2008 18:26

Am too busy for swelling and the like.

Some kids in the bath some roaming and 1 at a Carol service with dh till 7...

I am going to order chinese and eat a lot then go to bed. I am cream crackered. The school run plus a toddler Xmas party has finished me off. B was not too impressed with it all, he didnt scream at Santa though! H loved it and went up to 'help' the magician I only had my blinkin phone with me so have some pics on there but am that i forgot the camera.

Scoot tell it like it is to the doc, you need to rest and catch up with life. Hope he sees that. Well done little L on not crying at school!! Clever girl.

Abby!!! You posted twice!!! Re invitations, i would be in the crap house of returning them. I think if you have not heard by next week assume that is it. I usually phone and grovel apologies if i don't send them right back.

The twins are back to school tomorrow, nowt up with them. Just a cold boy flu who knew it could start so young?!

MKG bad parties at 3? What happened?

God i hear screaming now and not the happy kind.

Themasterandsnowballs · 08/12/2008 18:29

Hey there . I am just popping in to say COME ON BABY JAM! Jam you need to start one of those 'am I aren't I?' in labour threads, they are always a good read in the wee small hours

In the same breath I'm keeping my fingers crossed the pink mini GT is not causing her mum too many problems.

I'm so exhausted after a weekend away in the freezing cold and I have to go to the airport very early tom to pick up PIL, so will catch up later. Those who were interested in round 2 Secret Santa should have received a message by now.

Oh Abby, people never reply to the invites, we usually put a note up on the door of the class with a map to the house and a list of those invited asking parents to tick if they are coming. Otherwise it's a reminder by text message if you are allowed the parent's numbers. Noone has any manners these days

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 08/12/2008 18:57

Glad C on the mend Abby..

Any chinese for me..have you a bit of prawn toast I can pinch?

Dr has given me Anti depressants. Not sure if I will take them.I suppose what I need is a rest.I have booked next week off work but my boss was pressuring me not to take it (not ideal timing work wise admittedly)I am going to tell her tomorrow I am having it and thats that.

L has been very good all day today M on the other hand as been a swine!

Any baby yet Jammer?

JamInMyWellies · 08/12/2008 20:33

Hi all,

due date tom no baby as yet. Saw the midwife today head down but still bobbing about booked in fro a sweep next wk. I spoke to her abut not being induced and she is perfectly happy for me to do daily monitoring which is good as I really dont want the induction.

Scoot take the anti d's it is no reflection on you as a person they really do help in the long run I know lots of people who have used them on the short term just to help get themselves a bit straighter. Take next wk you need it lovey.

LG&T I too have been more swollen this time but with your history you should get it checked. Hope bath time has ended and they are all tucked up in bed so you can chinese in peace.

Abbey glad to hear C is better. In my opinion re the birthday invites I would phone and be blunt and ask its prob because its around christmas time people are being a bit slack.

MrsJB did you drink too much fizzy pop last night I hope you didnt have a hangover flu this morning.

AM what do you mean she didnt know about TT scandalous!

I taped it am saving it for labour so I can sing along with contractions.

TYG so did DH pass his driving test before you had O? What a fecker that you couldnt get to Ikea. Thats a bit scary about DH salary am gutted all the bonuses etc are going to be pants next yr we could really do with a decent one to pay some credit cards off.

Off to bounce on my birthing ball and then going to make DP have sex with me poor man.

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 08/12/2008 21:32

WOO HOO I passed my 2nd assignment!!!! Have been crapping myself all day about it.

JAM, i know i was mortified!

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 08/12/2008 21:39

Well done AM!
Happy due date for tomorrow Jam

L is not going to sleep tonight. She wont stay in bed and is sitting on the landing singing 'When Santa got stuck up the chimney',(the bits she can remember) nad laughing her head off I beg of you.

JamInMyWellies · 08/12/2008 22:04

How cute Scoot.

Have added a pic of the bump to my profile so you can all laugh at the riduclarse size of it.

The lady who runs our little shop in the village has just called to ask if anything is happening. I BEG OF YOU!

Congrats Am you deserve a gold star.

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 08/12/2008 22:16

Jam, I dont mean to be rude, but are you pregnant by any chance? You are quite big..lovely though

Tell the shopkeep, no, but in the morining when she hand delivers the paper you will give her another update

Tillyscoutsmum · 08/12/2008 22:39

Jam - that's an impessive bump !

Tell baby to hold on til Thursday - its a great day to have a birthday

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 09/12/2008 08:08

Happy Due Day JAM. I really hope things start happening for you. Your bump looks lovely and you look really well.

Scoot how did you all sleep?

Just found out that i might be able to get tickets to see TT after all, fingers crossed that my friend can get me some

I have a cleaning company coming round this morning to give me a quote on sorting this place out. Dh has finally given in and has said we can get a cleaner. I explained that all they would do is do the bathrooms, kitchen, dust and hoover and if they did that then i would have more time to tidy. Although i am sure that he will be one of those people that cleans before the cleaner arrives....

largeginandtonic · 09/12/2008 08:57

Well done AM

Scoot that is quite sweet about Lills Annoying if you need sleep though. Take the anti d's end of next week if you still feel that things are getting on top of you. A week may be all you need, then again they take a while to work so it may be worth taking them now. Oh i dunno. Think about it today and make a decision and stick to it. I wandered round holding them in my hand for a few days before i decided.

Jam you think that is a bump... will get dh to post one of mine later. The girl is about 9lb already i think, only 4 and half weeks to go

I am off to a lunch today Tis the Wives Club Christmas lunch. I will be waited on and have a present. DH is day off so he can have the children and manage school runs, i am very excited.

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 09/12/2008 09:29

My sis had to take ad's for a while and whilst she wasnt sure about taking them they did make quite a difference to her. Big hugs to you x

Pinkjennybellrock · 09/12/2008 09:30

Hi all.

I'm back from the dark side.

Tilly - you looked absolutely beautiful. Congratulations.

TYG - Chris de Burgh is definitely sadder than Barry Manilow. The concert was absolutely amazing, once I got used to the death drop that is the O2. Good God, if one had danced a little too enthusiastically, you would plummet to your death. And I'm trying to find someone to see Britney with me next year. Any takers? I am now a Maniloon. Or a Fanilow. Not decided which yet. You could almost smell the HRT patches. Seriously though, it was fantastic.

Jam - I am guilty of ringing my BF every three seconds and answering the phone to her with 'Is it time??'. She is telling me to piss off a lot at the moment.

LG&T - poor Beau. L is full of cold (again) and has a weeping eye. Still took her to nursery though. Does that make me a mean mummy? Enjoy lunch and report back on the present.

AM - Well done! You are such a clever fish! I have Sky Plussed TT. My friend was going on and on about it yesterday though, so it must be good. Agree GB looks good, but I'm a Jason girl these days.

Pinkjennybellrock · 09/12/2008 09:31

Scoot - my dad takes ad's. He says it's worth it if he never has to feel so low again. It's a personal thing though, I know my BF's mum refused to take them and battled depression for years. Have you spoken to dh about it? I sometimes wonder whether I need something for my anxiety. ((hugs)) to you.

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 09/12/2008 10:34

i'll go, i'll go

Pinkjennybellrock · 09/12/2008 10:37

Oh yes! Let's go!!! She's playing 8 dates in June.

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 09/12/2008 10:39

Wicked!!!!!! I do like her new album. Was singing along to it on the way to college last night

Themasterandsnowballs · 09/12/2008 11:05

lordy - save us from these loons.

Pinkjennybellrock · 09/12/2008 11:07

Guess what TMAM - Mrs JB and AM haven't outed me, and for that I heart them. But I cried at the concert. Twice.

It truly was an emotional rollercoaster of a night.
