Sputnik · 08/10/2008 21:32

Glad you 2 had a nice meet up

Happy Birthday from me too Fury (though clearly she is off having fun in RL without us. Probably exposing herself

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/10/2008 21:46

Oooh - just had call from local fire station. They are sending someone round tomorrow morning to fit a smoke alarm for me cos the selfish cow lady who sold me the flat took the smoke alarm with her. I have very high ceilings & obviously in no condition to go climbing ladders fixing things to the ceiling. Hope it's a nice fit young fire fighter that comes round. Could do with some eye candy to perv on appreciate in an appropriate manner. Wonder if he'd change my living room lightbulb whilst he's up there. Am getting bit fed up sitting in the dark in the evenings.

FiendishFairyFay · 08/10/2008 21:50

TB, I hope they send you a fit one.

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/10/2008 22:09

Me too Fairy. Am off to watch Desperate H/W then get some beauty sleep. Best to be prepared .

justbeme · 08/10/2008 22:10

Thanks Ria! - I bought 2 of those England shirts yesterday - the adult one was £4.49 I think down from £42 or something!

Tallulah - let us know if he changes your lightbulb!!

LackaDAISYcal · 08/10/2008 22:17

have been busy changing nappies all evening. she has needed two changes since we put her to bed and isn't a happy camper at all . fingers crossed that's it for tonight as once we are in bed she is in poo all night! mind you, i'm sure I'll be up needing a wee at some point so I can check on her then!

That's a bummer about DH Ria. so he has to go back again for a biopsy before they will do anything else? Will this be quick? I presume that they would want to nip any infection in the bud really quickly before it spreads?...sorry too many questions.

fairy....consider yourself well and truly toppled

Morning all!

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

What a chaotic few days. Life now upside-down... but for the better. Many tears shed, then good news, argh! But for the firt time in a while I feel positive.

JammyOLantern · 09/10/2008 09:18

Morning Fury, glad you had a good day. Your life sounds very interesting - I am intrigued by your post: good news?

Tallulah - hope the fireman/men are fit for you!

Daisy and Fairy - considered your arses whooped!!!

RiallyEeRiaee · 09/10/2008 09:53

of firemen (tough our local retained crew leave a bit to be desired, my uncle is station officer), I'm sure he'll change your lightbulb if you ask niceley

hope you had a good night daisy.

not really sure about DH (I am secretly hoping that when the scan has been studied the biopsy won't be necessary) the will do the biopsy as soon as the PCT put up the funding, but it has to be done because the wrong drugs can do more harm than good. I think it means he can think about proper work in the long term now because fingers crossed he won't need another 3 months off post op.

hi everyone.

Ohforfoxsake · 09/10/2008 10:05

at firemen

I went out with one once. He was a proper tosser, but I think the exception to the rule that all firemen are lovely so I still hanker after them. They are just so capable don't you think? [wink}

Fury, whatevers been happening with you?!

Well, whatever it is, I am glad you have come through it feeling better.

HellHathNoFury · 09/10/2008 10:25

on the 7th DH found out that his company would likely be going under - was v upset as he turned down a really good job here to stay with them...
So he sent them an email yesterday to see if the job was still available (bearing in mind it was offered to him over 2 months ago) and it WAS!

So he starts work here on the 17th nov. Only trouble is childcare, we can't find anyone to take DS from 7am-8am and drop him off at nursery. Bugger.

Also had a mad bad birthday weekend, all up it was good, good times

HellHathNoFury · 09/10/2008 10:25

and we are moving to essex

LackaDAISYcal · 09/10/2008 10:39

wow fury...big changes. hope it all works out for the best. What about Oz? are you still considering it?

off to PILs today (repeat ad naseun...don't rise to it Daisy, don't rise to it Daisy, don't rise to it......). target setting day at school so kids are off...oh fecking joy!

DD better this morning, nothing explosive yet and she is back to her havoc causing best

right, off to the post office and then the PILs...wish me luck.

jammy, I'll sort you out later young lady! Am well impressed though.

What about the nursery at work Fury?

Why Essex? To be nearer your family?

Enjoy the day with the out-laws Daisy. When it gets bad think of me.

Mine get here tomorrow for a 3 night stay. They are meant to stay in the local travelodge (which only gots £20 a night if you are organised 3 weeks in advance). But no, they are not organised. So DP said they can stay here

THERE IS NO FUCKING ROOM DP will sleep on the sofa, I will have to go with one of the boys. They are so farking noisy and have the TV on really, really loudly the entire time. They don't go to bed til 1 or 2am, then spend the whole morning in bed MY bed, I haven't had a decent night sleep in about 2 weeks - was up with ill DS2 and baby from 3am - 5 again DP slept through it again and I am MIGHTLY PISSED OFF now I have loads to do which I didn't want to do, with grumpy ill baby and sick boy. DP is under this illusion that his mum does everything and is some massive help - NO SHE DOESNT SHE DOES NAFF ALL WHEN SHE IS HERE - IT IS BECAUSE YOU LEAVE HER TO IT AND GO BACK TO BED -

and breeeeeeeath ......

Ohforfoxsake · 09/10/2008 10:52

All is good with the world again

HellHathNoFury · 09/10/2008 10:54

Good lucks at PIL's Daisy

Foxy - I have no idea what to say about that, except I think you need to do the mature, responsible thing and GET DRUNK.

My parents live in Essex.

Foxy, no nursery here!! It was shut down in 2006. Apparently - before my time.
There is one just over the road but not ideal either lugging the little man to and from london every day.

RiallyEeRiaee · 09/10/2008 10:58

lol at boots foxy. good luck!

Good luck with your ILs too daisy. our visit very brief yesterday. MIL was cock-a-hoop because BIL has split with his girlfriend ("I just let them get on with it", mm maybe, but your gleeful badmouthing of ExG at every available opportunity is a bit ), apparently the wrong thing to say is "how awful for the DCs". FIL is still a racist bigot... and I think we are going back at the weekend (DSS birthday - what to buy? you know he hasn't been in touch since DH took him home. odd.)

I am BORED (again)

RiallyEeRiaee · 09/10/2008 11:00

Is Essex a long way from where you are now fury? All sounds V exciting though, and good for your DH.

HellHathNoFury · 09/10/2008 11:05

I grew up in essex, it's only 1.5 hours from where I am now. Nicer places to live though, I live in a shithole atm

RiallyEeRiaee · 09/10/2008 13:35

I am starving...

HollyWeen · 09/10/2008 13:51

Hi guys,

I've just been in a meeting with a local MW and HV about setting up a peer support group in this area and have been given the go ahead to make it happen! Hurrah! I haven't been given any budget to buy anything with though because I don't live in a Surestart area. So I've written an email to ask some companies if they will donate some stuff. I wasn't sure what to put, so I've just written what I think they will want to hear! Here it is, please tell me if it is shit and if I should take anything out or put anything in. TIA!

Dear

My name is Holly ** and I am a breastfeeding peer supporter with the Southampton University Hospitals Trust. As a peer supporter I am a breast feeding mother who supports other mothers, both before their baby is born, and during their time breastfeeding. I do this on a voluntary basis at my local hospital and find it to be an invaluable service to new mothers, especially those having problems or difficulties during their first few days of parenthood.

I have recently set up, with support from the local Surestart team, a peer support group to help local mothers and their babies to get breastfeeding off to a good start and to breastfeed for as long as possible. However, I have no budget with which to buy any breastfeeding cushions, toys for the babies, demonstration breastpumps, other breastfeeding equipment or demonstration slings. I feel that my group would benefit immensely from having a few cushions and toys to make the group feel more comfortable and to encourage the mothers to stay and talk and to carry on coming. I would also like to be able to show them some of the products that would help to make their breastfeeding experience easier and more pleasurable, such as slings that can be used to breastfeed a baby in whilst on the move, the different types of breastpumps, breastpads and nursing bras that are available and products to help them to feed without discomfort or to help them heal if they do get cracked or bleeding nipples.

I am writing to various companies to see if they would be able to donate any of these products to help my group to carry on operating and to make the group a bit more enjoyable, comfortable and informative. If your company would be able to provide any of these products for use at the group it would be very much appreciated. I would then be able to direct the mothers to where the products can be purchased from and hopefully provide you with some feedback based on their experiences with using it.

Kind regards,

Holly **.

Foxy and daisy, good luck with the ILs. Sounds hellish. Hope it passes smoothly and you are able to get through the experience unscathed!

Fury, happy birthday for yesterday, hope you had a good day and about your house move. Hope it goes well and is not too stressful !!

Hi Ria and everyone else x

FiendishFairyFay · 09/10/2008 14:04

Grrrrr to Daisy and Jammy
