Awh Oooggs - not a good day?

OP posts:
cazboldy · 19/09/2008 09:15

oh Oooggs - try not to take it so hard....... he is really quite little still.... Is it actually wrong for him to question something? maybe he genuinely wanted to know why he had to do it? If he said it in a rude way, then fine, but all he should need is a reminder not to speak to people like that. He sounds very much like my ds1 - and I really do feel for you. Try to understand that he has a lot going on for him aswell, with the twins, and the new baby, and his poor mummy feeling so under the weather.

with regard to the work thing, can you afford to not work? Seems like it would be a weight off you atm? xxx {{{hugs}}} xxx

oooggs, i agree with what caz said, being confident isnt such a bad thing, imo better than being shy? Are you sure she meant it in a bad way?

I'm sure he'll calm down in a few weeks, its probably just the excitement of being at school, as your friend and you both said he is a model child else where.

Luce, i just text you before i saw your post, he's fine, snuggled up in bed with me. Ear still covered in blood but apart from that he's fine!

I had a lovely time at chez luce, the domestic goddess didnt fail to impress... Lunch on the table for my arrival and home made choc cake.

ooh that sounds intriguing Luce I really want to know now!!

GM - How is C today?

oooggs - have emailed you! I was writing an essay so decided it might be better to email, don't feel like you need to reply. xx

Off to work in a sec. First time for over 2 weeks so I'm going to have loads to catch up on!

AngeG · 19/09/2008 09:47

x posts GM. Glad C is ok today. I wish I lived nearer to Luce I love chocolate cake

Hi all. Haven't read. Will catch up later never .

Just caught hold of the nothing word.

Conversations with L at the mo go like this.

So what did you do at school today.

L - Nothing.

Me - So you did nothing?

L - No nothing.

Me - So you mean nothing at all then.

L - No nothing at all.

Me - Well you must have done something?

L - No nothing.

Me - So apart from doing nothing, nothing and nothing what else did you do.

L - Nothing.

. So that's a whole load of nothing then, glad it's not just me .

geordieminx · 19/09/2008 14:30

Hey pinions

Luce - of course it was homemade - you still had to mix it and cook it....it could have been minging!

Hi everyone
oooggs sorry you're so stressed. Agree with the others that it sounds as though J is just being a little boy!
Luce...am curious now!
Well T touch wood seems fine now. Really hope he continues.

Eddas · 19/09/2008 22:09

Hope t is ok spb

oooggs, i can't believe J's even had a parents evening yet he only started the other day, a bit soon for anyone to really know how he will be at school. He's still finding his feet and is bound to ask questions. Hope you are ok {{{hugs}}}

Pesha, how's d? poor little thing.

Well i'm officially knackered. I haven't stopped since I woke up(just before 7) I did all the pre work things, took dc to nursery, worked for 7.5hrs, collected dc, did dinner, defrosted the freezer(long overdue), done online shop, calmed screaming children as dd got up to use the loo and woke ds. Replied to various emails re preschool, of which I now appear to be treasurer and as there are no other committee members(all resigning at agm in oct) am making decisions without any info, which is fun How people expect an answer without giving you facts is beyond me!

I should be out partying on a sat night, getting drunk and dancing like a loon. instead I'm sat thinking I could've done with bed an hour ago how things change

At least the freezer doesn't resemble the north pole anymore much more ice and i'dve found polar bears living in there or maybe spb

right, enough of me, i'm off to bed

Eddas · 19/09/2008 22:09

see i must be tired it's frid not sat ffs

Eddas · 19/09/2008 22:10

I give up friday

StealthPolarBear · 19/09/2008 22:14
Eddas · 19/09/2008 22:18

nope you won't fit even without the ice

Pesha · 19/09/2008 22:51

Lol at you 2!

Oooggs - sorry you're having such a difficult time atm. I do have to agree with everyone that it sounds perfectly normal behaviour. Its a new, daunting situation for him and tbh am quite surprised at teachers thinking they have enough information to have a parent's evening and pass comment on the children so soon into the school year iyswim. Try not to orry too much about it I expect its just him settling in and trying to deal with the new situation.

Lol at all the 'nothing' talk! Maia mostly did nothing at school when she started, sometimes she did something but never seemed able to remember what it was! Nathan on the other hand amazed by coming home and not only had he done something at school but he remembered and would tell me about it every day Although as the school year went on it changed from 'played with the cars/did painting' etc to 'X pushed me at over playtime/Y wouldn't let me play with him/a boy in class Z bumped into me'

GMM I replied to you on facebook but don't know if you got it as laptop went funny when I sent it and I had to close IE and start again. But Thank you very very much, you are fab! Glad C seems a bit better now, must have been very scary for you, and him, poor little thing Have to say cotton buds are not something I would have had on my list of Things To Keep Out Of Reach Of DC so I may have to rethink. Mind you if you removed everything dc can hurt themselves on there'd be nothing left!! Or not with my dc anyway!

Can't remember anything else

D's willy is looking much better now, still red and sore but not as much as before and not nearly as swollen. SPB - I believe cellulitis is a bacterial infection, can be from bacteria normally present on skin getting in through scratch type thing or other bacteria. Or something like that He does always reach straight for his willy to twiddle with when I take his nappy off and his fingernails do need cutting so it is possible he had scratched it slightly. When his nappy is on he twiddles with his belly button instead!

D has also become very attached to a knitted cardigan thing I bought him from tesco the other day, wants to take it everywhere with him and cries and screams when I take it away!! Very strange child!!

Oh keep meaning to ask what size clothes your babys (I refuse to call them toddlers yet!) are wearing? I know its going to vary wildly and even differs from shop to shop but I'm just curious. D is still pretty much in 9-12. I am buying him mostly 12-18 now but it pretty much all swamps him and some things I really can't get away with it and have to buy 9-12. Its not just length but he seems quite a petite build really so waists often too big and some things are just massive all over on him!

Oh and I got the job!!! And I have managed to find a childminder who can have all 3 of my dc, even in school hols! Can't quite believe it, thought I was going to end up with D being somewhere different to M and N so very happy. Meeting her on Monday to make sure I and dc like her and will hopefully be able to arrange some settling in sessions for D next week and then start work ther week after I expect. They ant me asap so waiting on me and childcare. And I'm working for Clarks at their HQ so will get a discount on shoes for N and D's massive fat feet!!!

Pesha · 19/09/2008 22:55

Sorry that sentence about the teachers sounds worse than i meant it to be. It sounds like I'm implying the teachers are ridiculous thinking they can have parent's evening now which isn't what I meant, I am just surprised and it seems unusual when they are all just settling in and behaviour is bound to still be unsettled.

Not sure thats any clearer, I am drinking celebrating tonight so mind not quite as sharp and finely tuned as normal!

StealthPolarBear · 20/09/2008 07:50

Congratulations on the job!! And well done on finding the childminder who can have all 3
(and to cheap shoes). What will you be doing?
T is still in a mix of 9-12s and 12-18s, although I think I'm going to pack away the 9-12s soon which will lead to lots of rolled up trousers but we won't have to remove his ears to get his T shirts on and off! Has been in 12-18 vests and sleepsuits for a while though as I like them on the large side but he's starting to crumple up his feet in these . Must turn the tumble drier heat down

hi all

Have to go in a minute and make cakes for our church 'fun' day this afternoon so just a quick post.

Pesha - well done on the job and getting the chidcare sorted! That's great news.

GM - my cotton buds are frequently in reach of B - must do something about that.

Luce - intriguing!!!

Oooggs - you poor thing. If you feel there is something you should talk about more just ask his teacher for another appointment and then talk about the son you know until they repond! Did your dh come with you to parents evening? If not I would definately get him in on it as well.

Elkie - I cannot believe that maternity leave thread! Have just posted on it.

Dippy - hope you have a lovely day. You are such a good mum to get the girls 'sheared' my poor lambs haven't been near a hairdresser for months!

That's all folks - byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

elkiedee · 20/09/2008 12:19

Thanks for defending me NL on maternity leave thread, glad to see you weren't the only one. And grr, I'm getting so ticked off with other people moaning about final salary pension schemes - those would be the ones that a lot of my colleagues feel that they can't even afford to join given the other calls on their money in London.

Pesha, congratulations on the job and glad you seem to have the childcare sorted so well.

D's in 12-18 trousers and a mix of sizes with tops - for tshirts and longs sleeved tops etc I'm starting to use his 18-24 month stuff, the trousers are still too long for his legs but the tops look nice and don't ride up so much. Although 12-18 stuff still fits ok in vests and babygros, we have got some of the bigger things out lately, initially we started running low on vests during wet weather as they were taking forever to dry, and then this week we've rewashed anything that I thought might have been done with fabric conditioner, so I got out some brand new vests in 18-24 months that I was going to keep aside for a few weeks.

I've bought hoodies in 18-24 months and am still on the lookout for nice knitwear in that size. Was very disappointed by a look round Baby Gap near work the other day, no really nice or hooded jumpers/cardis, and I'm not paying that kind of money to brand him with GAP across his chest!

Hope M's party goes well POTC.

CaptainDippy · 20/09/2008 12:45

My lambs are sheared!

Pesha · 20/09/2008 17:08

Very quick post to say GM - I got the shoes this morning, they are lovely thank you, Dylan has been wearing them all day and they fit fine, he does like his shoes!!

Gotta go do more cleaning and packing now I HATE moving!

oooggs · 20/09/2008 20:54

right then

I can't remember who posted what with regards to school but here goes.............

yes dh came with me and we were both gobsmacked - I just took it worse as hormonal and not thinking straight

today he has been good, but we have being doing outdoor fun things - its summer here

DH was reading the 'supernanny' website last night and we are going to do house rules ds1 thinks its a good ideas and his first input was that he needs to stop the attitude he knows he is in the wrong (which is a start)

will let you know what they are when they are sorted (so you can all laugh)

also trying the more responsibilty thing - buttering own toast, emptying the washine machine, sweeping the chimney as he loves helping

pesha - fab news on job & cm

elkie - what mat leave etc are you planning on taking and when are you starting?

dd in 9-12 bottoms & 12-18 tops
ds2 in 12-18 bottoms and some 12-18 & 18-24 tops
I'm in tents from Millets
