my husband is lovely and thoughtful. He booked me a birthday thing a while ago but I wouldn't let him tell me what, it's not until November! But tonight he insisted I know so that I can make sure I get things sorted before hand, and he's booked tickets to see Dirty Dancing and stay in a posh hotel for the night eandh is coming with me as it's not dh's cup of tea, so we're both

Eddas · 20/09/2008 20:57

pmsl oooggs, you sound very chipper tonight

oooggs · 20/09/2008 21:00

you are lucky I didn't post last night things went very pearshaped at 7pm and I was home alone and lost it but today has been another day.

I has 2 hours to myself this morning as dh took dcs out to the fields to run riot, we had a lovely lunch at home and as dh walked out of the door to go to work my parents arrived and have just left

Dad has done the gardens (with ds1 helping) and I am off to bed with a packet of choc biscuits to watch Casualty

Your birthday trip sounds fan bloody tastic wll done dh of eddas

Eddas · 20/09/2008 21:07

about last night oooggs, glad you had some childfree time. It really does help sounds like you had a very nice day today

I had a great day, got up a bit late, went into town to meet my lovely girly friends, did a bit of shopping, had lunch(inlcuding wine) DC were gorgeous when i came home, although dd not been good for dh today which is unusual for her and him, normally it's me having trouble with her, am quite glad actually as it made him realise why I get so pissed off> finally the lightbulb came on Then he gives me my present and we're having chinese for dinner. All in all a pretty fine day and all thanks to dh as he insisted I had a day off

Pesha · 20/09/2008 23:42

Eddas - that is your 'special' birthday in November isn't it?!
'Tis mine too, we were going to Ireland but cancelled now as can't really afford it so not sure what I'm doing, probably just getting very, very drunk!!

Was asking dp earlier when I'm 30 does that mean I can't do certain things anymore or wear certain fashions, he replied that I still look 24! So I asked if we can just tell people that I am 24 and I had DD when I was 16, he said 'if you want dear' and carried on watching fucking golf, I get the feeling he may be humouring me

elkiedee · 21/09/2008 00:15

Ooogs, re maternity leave, I'm planning that my last day in the office will be the Tuesday after New Year, think that's about 6 January. That will be after annual leave from 22 December - 2 January, then I can go in for 2 days and hopefully if they've recruited a temp, which is the plan, hand over to her (presuming it is a her - likely to be).

The plan then will be to start actual ML the day before I'm due on 25 January, take 28 weeks on full pay, 11 weeks on SMP, perhaps some annual leave at the end but not as much as last time. That would mean returning at the end of October/early November. I may not go back for much more than 6 months as I hope we'll escape from London in 2010.

StealthPolarBear · 21/09/2008 08:50

oooggs, you seem stressed
elkie, you plan to move back up north???

Hey!

POTC really hope M's party went well, so sorry we couldn't make it! xx

Oooggs - hope you are feeling a little brighter today xx

oooggs · 21/09/2008 19:39

elkie - very similar, I'll finish on 19th Dec and have annual leave, 26 weeks full pay, 13 weeks SMP, more annual leave and then unpaid leave up until 17 February 2010 when I go back to work (baby will start nursery on 3rd February) if all goes according to my plans

things better today - dh had the day off and he is on days this week so will have help at tea time/bed time

eddas - was it your birthday today - very confused?

Luce - you do help

hey caz - did your pony (I think) ever get it on with the stallion?

katy - better today thank you

StealthPolarBear · 21/09/2008 19:44

making plans for 2010!!

JellySnakes · 21/09/2008 20:22

Glad you are a bit better today oooggs. I agree with others that have said it is very early for a parents evening. J is probably just finding his feet in what is a new, and quite daunting environment. Hope the house rules are coming along nicely

Eddas, what a fab present from your dh. I am really impressed!

POTC, hope the party has gone well today

Luce, I am very intrigued

Pesha, poor little D and his willy. Glad he is on the mend. And brilliant news about the job and the CM. How much longer until you move? I am sure it must be soon, I just can't remember.

GM, hope C's ear is much better now. It hurts when I just poke a cotton bud a little too far, never mind perforate the ear drum. Poor little man.

As for plans for 2010, I want to go to the Ryder Cup!!!! It is in the Celtic Manor which is about 45 minutes from me. I have emailed them tonight to enquire about getting tickets, that is assuming it isn't completely booked out already! I have been a right saddo watching the coverage on Sky, it is on now too I am not a big watcher of golf at any other time either, so no idea why the Ryder Cup appeals so much

JellySnakes · 21/09/2008 20:25

And I want to move house. I have lived in this house for 11 years, and when we moved here it was really lovely, and very quiet. Lately it is getting more and more noisy, and a bit rough iykwim. I know that sounds really snobby, and I don't mean it to, but I hate sitting in my lounge in the evening and hearing teenagers screaming and swearing outside.
It is not happening all the time, but I get a horrible feeling it will get worse so I want to leave before it does! Not sure we could afford to move though so I may well have to stay put!

JellySnakes · 22/09/2008 09:36

Where is everyone?

cazboldy · 22/09/2008 10:20

I'm here

Oooggs - not really sure..... have got to wait about a month before we can do a pg test....... I will let you all know as soon as I do!

Sexonlegs · 22/09/2008 10:59

Beunos dias!!

Am back from Spain and just flying in as am at work.

Caz, had to re-read your post! Thought you were perhaps pg with number 6 until I scrolled down!!!

Hope all is well. Will post later on when at home. Love to all xx

JellySnakes · 22/09/2008 11:13

SOL, I thought that too for a minute!! Hope you had a good time in Spain

oooggs · 22/09/2008 12:07

caz - I thought you were pregnant too had forgotten what I had asked well I have slept since then

hope you had a great time sol

mj - moving?????? 11 years is a long time

JellySnakes · 22/09/2008 12:20

It is a long time isn't it, but I have always liked it here. Problem is that I still like my house, just the area is not as nice as it once was iykwim.
Our fixed rate mortgage is due for renewal in a couple of months time so will probably have a chat to our financial advisor and see what our options would be. I wouldn't want to move if it wasn't to something bigger than we already have, not prepared to pay more money out and live in the same size place!

oooggs · 22/09/2008 12:32

makes sense - have you looked to see what was about in the areas you fancy - size wise?

hi everyone
caz - i thought you were testing too
Luce come on share the news!
nothing to report here

Sexonlegs · 22/09/2008 13:09

Yeah Luce, spill the beans!

JellySnakes · 22/09/2008 13:15

Oooggs, I had a quick look on the internet yesterday. We live in a semi atm, but would only move if I could get a detached. Prices locally starting at around £190,000 for four bed detached which is not too bad. Definitely cheaper than they were!
That is why I need to speak to financial advisor and work out what we could afford tbh.

JellySnakes · 22/09/2008 13:16

Come on Luce, stop teasing
