Oh, and J started school yesterday

He cried when I left him, but the teacher told me he stopped crying after I left, and had a great time. He told me himself that he's had fun with Mrs Morris, and played with cars

Only thing was, reality kicked in today, and he knew where we were going, and started crying as soon as we went in the playground I know he enjoys it there, it's just he hates the fact I don't stay with him

I've put a school photo on my profile

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/09/2008 21:08

SOL - must be the worst part of our job

Runny - fab news

Leaky - at your dad, sometimes it really does feel like we're more responsible than our parent/s doesn't it. After years of it from my mum I try to let it wash over me now as otherwise you just let them hurt you more. I know I don't do them often but have a hug

runnyhabbit · 16/09/2008 21:09

oooggs - yes nursery/school/work is one big juggle.
Lucky my mum is still having W on a Mon and Fri, so I'll just drop both of them off at her's, and she'll take J to school. But on the other days, I take W to nursery (with J in tow), come home to give J breakfast, then drop him off on the way to work. Work have been very flexible, and on the days I do the drop off, I go in later, but have to finish at my normal time so I'm not late picking W up from nursery!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/09/2008 21:09

potc, thats gonna be fun eandh's dd had her 4th bday party a week ago and there was over 30 children it was manic! she had an entertainer though. Where are you having it?

Sexonlegs · 16/09/2008 21:32

Runny, what fab news re W. What a relief. I hope J settles at school soon x

POTC, I take it that is a list of party goers??!!! Good luck

Dooby, really hope your trip goes ok.

Thanks all for your support btw; it means a lot. x

Off to bed soon. Today had been hanging over my head for over a week and the last 2 nights I have slept really badly. Hoping tonight will be better, although K has been grizzling in her sleep and coughing ... again!! I wish there was a jab that would innoculate/immunise against everything!

See you lovely and wonderful ladies tomorrow. x

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/09/2008 21:46

it's in a local church hall
no entertainer, just Uncle Skott who will be hungover and M's daddy. Obviously I'd love to help but I'm not invited

elkiedee · 16/09/2008 23:29

Evening all, or should it be morning for tomorrow?

We've had a bit of a drama here, D came out in a bit of a rash Sunday afternoon, and I decided I'd better take him to the doctor Monday morning, so phoned work, dropped round to see CM on way to surgery, got an emergency appointment at 9.30 (it was gone 9 am at the time, was quite impressed that they did that for us). D had lots of spots but didn't really seem ill, was running around the waiting room and then trying to get into the GP's cupboards and drawers. Our practice is a father daughter practice, we usually see daughter but we saw the dad yesterday. Anyway, he called her in for a second opinion, they decided it wasn't meningitis but thought it might be something viral, and then referred us to the paediatric A&E at the hospital.

Unfortunately, our nearest hospital is a bit of a pain to get to with no car, it's on the North Circular and only a couple of very infrequent buses stop on site, the others go close but you have to find your way across some very unpleasant concrete jungle...

After all this, we waited ages, dp joined us, and the doctor finally told us he thought D has an allergy.

We think it might be fabric conditioner that's causing it, so we're going to have to rewash all his clothes without using conditioner, then try and get them dry. Hope there's some good drying weather the next few days.

elkiedee · 16/09/2008 23:35

Can't get my head round everything, but Leaky, sounds like you (and your mum) are having a horrid time at the moment. Hope the sickness eases off a bit soon, and that you and your mum can offer each other some comfort/support when she comes to stay with you. The stuff with your dad must be a terrible shock.

And going back a bit, Lexi, eek at your dp and friends using your home, and coffee table, to do drugs. Hope that if that's how he's going to spend his time, you can get him at least to go and do it somewhere else, not near your kids (or on furniture etc which is in their home too). I feel quite cross for you hearing about that.

elkiedee · 16/09/2008 23:37

Final post for tonight, I had my scan today (I had it in my head that it was yesterday but thank goodness under the circumstances it wasn't, it would have been too much). All seems to be well with baby and we're definitely expecting another boy. I'm 21 + 1 today.

AngeG · 17/09/2008 08:25

A quick hello before school as we're ready so early today.

Elkie - That must have been horrible for you, glad he is ok. Great news about the scan being all ok, have ou thought of any names?

SOL - Hope you slept better last night.

POTC - Wow that sounds like a lot of children...have fun!

Runny - So pleased all ok with W J looks gorgeous in his uniform!

Better go or we'll be late. xx

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2008 09:26

Runny - can hear the sigh of relief from here. So pleased xxx
Elkie, was wondering whether you'd been absent the last couple of days. Glad the rash wasn't anything serious, but must have been so worrying! Glad also that pg is going well.
Pillock - have missed something - is it M's birthday?? Confused as you mention nursery but it's definitely not J's, is it? (Goes to check calendar to make sure she hasn't missed own son's birthday)
SOl, that sounds horrible

JellySnakes · 17/09/2008 09:29

Morning all. Waiting in today for the heating engineer man to come and fix my heating. It keeps coming on at the same time as the hot water and I cannot get it to go off! Anyway, hopefully today it will be sorted. It makes me glad that I have heating cover because I know it would have cost around £100 to fix otherwise.

Elkie, glad that D was ok, and lovely to hear that all is well with your new addition

Oooggs, I am constantly running around trying to get the timings right for everything, and I struggle to fit it all into my day. Ds now does football and swimming lessons during the week too so I feel like I am on a constant treadmill!

SOL, that must have been so hard for you. We have someone in work that is headed for the same sort of fate, but thankfully it would be nothing to do with me if it came to the crunch.

Right, must sort out my home insurance this morning as it is up for renewal on Friday and my renewal quote from my existing company is over £400. I live in a semi so not exactly worthy of that kind of premium I think!

JellySnakes · 17/09/2008 09:31

Runny, how could I forget, so glad that W has been given the all clear

Hi SPB, how is T today?

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2008 09:33

Hope they turn up JS
T still ill

cazboldy · 17/09/2008 09:34

Elkie - glad all is well with the baby, and glad it was nothing serious with D.

Runny - fantastic news about W.

Does anyone know how 1 11 year old boy can lose 2 pairs of pe shorts in a week, and come home with a pair that belongs to someone else???????

cazboldy · 17/09/2008 09:36

oh no SPB

JS you must have been boiling! Glad it's not us - I have my hot water on constant, and my oil bill is massive enough already!

Bramshott · 17/09/2008 09:40

That's great news Runny!

Oh no SPB - so sorry to hear he's still ill.

SOL - you poor thing - that must have been so difficult. At least it's done now.

Must go - I can hear the mobile library and I want to change my books.

Back later. xxx

CaptainDippy · 17/09/2008 10:33

Fab news runny Your little man looks lovely ^ sooo growed up in his pic

that T is still ill SPB. More dribbly kisses from P. xx

Brain cannot retain anymore; but I did LOL when SOL said that a man must've written the policy that didn't allow Leaky's work to pay for a Taxi!
