oh runny that sounds awful
Hope last night was better

Pesha · 26/09/2008 09:36

Sorry Runny, spent ages writing my post last night so x posted and didn't notice you'd posted before me

Sounds horrendous Grr at dh but yay for understanding boss. How was last night? Hope it was just a one off

Hi SPB

Tears from N at school this morning again Luckily he did it far enough away from his classroom so the dragon teacher didnt see! Have promised him a treat after school so have to go out now and buy a toy and possibly some iced buns! Lol just remembered when I was a teen and not going to school I had to see an ed psych and he suggested to my mum that she bribe me basically so she offered me an iced bun every day I went to school Strangely enough it didn't actually work, my problems ran a bit deeper than not enough cakes! That and I wasn't 5 years old! Don't really think it'd work for Nathan but I can force him to go so the least I can do is give him a special treat to cheer him up afterwards!

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 10:26

Morning - is it bedtime yet!!?

Sexonlegs · 26/09/2008 11:02

Morning

Runny, what a shocking night. Hope all is calm now. Glad your boss is understanding; makes such a difference.

Pesha, what a shame about the work/childcare situ. Don't know what to suggest really.

Dippy, tired???

K was awake for about an hour at 4 this morning; just whining. Gave her some nurofen and plugged in the vaporiser as she was all bunged up and she was off again, but took me an age to go to sleep.

She is in nursery this morning as Friday mornings are my "get a thousand things done" morning. I have just extended her for the day! Sooooo much to do - better get my bum off here. See you later lovelies.x

Pesha · 26/09/2008 11:19

Oooh have you all got the ad for the vosene shampoo/head lice repellent?! Might have to try some of that, head lice seem to love dd and her and her friends seem to keep passing them round between them Thought we might be shot of them after summer hols but apparently not, what age do they stop getting them so much???

Bramshott · 26/09/2008 12:57

Yes, I thought that looked good Pesha. N and I had them over the summer holidays and it was bleurggh! I have been spraying her head with a solution of tea-tree oil in water every day, and no sign so far, but I'm sure we'll have them again!

Eddas / Pesha - sorry to hear about your childcare nightmares. I must admit that I'm afraid I love working - I am not cut out to be at home with O all week, although I love it that I can be for 2 days.

Thank you to everyone who made kind comments about the girls in their spotty dresses on Facebook - they don't look too scarred by the experience of being dressed alike, although O will be sick of Boden spotty dresses by the time she's worn both of them! Talking of Boden, I've just found a knee length Boden cord skirt in my size in the Cardiac Rehab charity shop for £4 - hurrah! Quite brightened up my morning!

cazboldy · 26/09/2008 13:02

well done Bramshott! bargain

Dippy - one of those days?

Must get on - have been out having coffee all morning, the house is a tip, and my brother and his wife are coming over for tea!

All I seem to do atm is have extra people over for tea.... must be a mug! nah - not really, it's nice to have some company, but a bit of a squeeze!

Pesha · 26/09/2008 17:58

Well after the tears this morning nathan came out much happier and was his class 'star of the day'!! Very pleased with himself, as he should be, and has a superstar badge to wear all weekend! Apparently he tried really hard with his writing [proud mummy]

However his treat was Star wars top trumps, went to the park after school and some f*&ker has nicked them There were 3 other older boys he was playing with, 1 was still there but didn't have them, other 2 gone home, I know the mum of one of them so will be asking her on Monday if he "accidentally" took them home! Cannot believe one of them, and they were all junior school age btw, would nick from a 5yo

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 18:24

& Pesha, but so glad he had a better day

Still tired ...

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2008 18:52

fantastic Pesha
Have had it with T today, he has really enjoyed himself at nursery (was going back in when I went to get him) but for some reason just wants constant feeding at home. Got up at 6.30 this morning and didn't make it to work until 8.30, plus had to stop his feedathon so he had a tantrum. Same happened tonight. At the end of my tether...

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 19:44

Call a local breast-feeding counsellor? He can't rule the roost SPB - you da boss! xx

oooggs · 26/09/2008 20:40

pesha - at cards but N was is a star

Runny - we had probs with Erin and wind last night, once she had stopped writhing and wriggling and pooping she settled quickly whereas Jack on the other hand, when he suffered a couple of weeks ago it was hell for us all and din't we all know about ir - so I sympathise (typical male )

wonder how Ellie is getting on hotel hopping

sol - hope you got loads done

Bramshott - I was cut out not to work and to stay at home - but with no children

caz - shouldn't be such a good hostess

dippy - who's the boss in your house?

eddas - how did work go?

My hands are ruined - I have been grouting and the utility is nearly finished kitchen next, before Christmas please dh - we might be a bit busy afterwards

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 21:00

Chocolate is the boss in my house

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2008 21:01

Me da boss!
You're right Dippy, and although he's a little milk monster he can usually be put off or distracted, e.g. when I need to go to work!
Cause of grumpiness has been identified to be another tooth - one of the chunky side ones (technical term - I'm the DIL of a dentist ) so hopefully peace will be restored for the polar bears very soon

oooggs · 26/09/2008 21:03

Jack thinks he is the boss here

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 21:04

I hope so SPB - P has two teeth on top and two on the bottom now. I'm so proud

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/09/2008 21:05

I'm here

Hotels were luuurvly, although partly because there were no small children clinging to my ankles while I showered and dried my hair (and because I got to spend my evening drinking with a scrummy man!)

Your opinions please, you know I've always said I don't want to get married? Would you all keel over with shock if I eloped and came back to tell you I was married?

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2008 21:06

I bet she has a cute grin!
So far I've always found children who are the same age as T to be the cutest, with a sliding scale from there (with a slight upturn at newborn stage again)
Does this last?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/09/2008 21:06

In fact, I don't think you even need to answer that, I can guess the answer

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2008 21:06

Anything you want to tell us Pillock?

Bramshott · 26/09/2008 21:08

Of course we would keel over with shock Pillock, but we would of course also be very very happy for you!!!!!

DH gone away for 3 days and I am drinking wine and voicing opinions all over Mumsnet!!

oooggs · 26/09/2008 21:09

Ellie what have you been up to??????

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/09/2008 21:10

not much

just been pondering, that's all

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 21:12

You're a minx!!

You make me

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2008 21:16

I've put cute pics on my profile - quickly - look at them!!
