Tis a good thing I feel.

Indith!!!! OK, now we can cut the tension with a knife.

accessorizequeen · 23/09/2008 10:24

really really sorry. Urgh. I only sent that to 4 people including you, indith! I was setting up a group text for when the time came, what a div.
on the plus side, I had several hours of contractions last night and dp & I thought it was go, go, go and even rang the hospital! Unfortunately died off at 3ish. Sigh.
I promise I won't give anyone a heart attack again unless it's for real

Olihan · 23/09/2008 12:26

Eli, I think it's easy for our imagination to go wild and straight to worst case scenario when we don't know what we're dealing with. My mum was ill a few years back with neurological symptoms that all pointed to Motir Neurone Disease or MS. It was a scary time while she had all the tests and fortunately it was a problem with her neck vertebrae that was easily rectified with an operation. But I completely understand the worry.

As soon as I can work out how to get Vista to reduce the size of the photos I'll add a couple of Mabel. But she has been given a big kiss from you, Eli! She's fast asleep and dreaming - lots of squeaking and scrabbling legs!

LOL at Indith/AQ jumping the gun, we'll carry on waiting with bated breath then..... I went into false labour at 36 weeks with dd, it was so depressing. Contractions all night, PILs set off to come to us and then nada. Just stopped completely and she finally arrived at 42 weeks. So muchos sympathy.

Has anyone got tomorrow on the book? I'll have that or Friday .

Indith · 23/09/2008 13:38

Lol AQ, if you'd have done it 5 mins earlier I'd have got the "ignore that" message before getting anywhere near the computer, you just happened upon me at my desk!

Contractions are good, even if it dies off tis all working those babies down and getting your body ready (or so Lulumama told me when I was up all night a week or so before ds actually decided to come along)

Hope all ok chez Castles and Mr Elibean.

Oli pup sounds very cute. Dh would quite like a dog if we had a pet at all (from a pet free family, doesn't quite understand how odd it is to have a house without some form of animal). I'm a cat person myself.

Have spent past 3 hours attacking the remains of our unpacking in the spare room. A full wheely bin and a stack of empty boxes later there are still piles of full boxes with nowhere obvious to go.

Aaaahhh...

castlesintheair · 23/09/2008 13:59

Tonight AQ

Neurosurgeon referral (if it ever arrives) is for DS head/SN

Glad to hear someone is on DH's case Eli.

accessorizequeen · 23/09/2008 15:44

Honestly, I wasn't crying wolf, it's indith being so efficient at her desk all the time! Thank god it wasn't my whole contact list, just indith, dsis and 2 others. I keep getting asked if I think labour is imminent by everyone (cleaner, MIL, dp!!) but I honestly think it can't be that far off.

Still having contractions, just very irregularly all day. I can't help but hope it will make labour easier when it comes. Oli, I had exactly the same with ds1, we had whole night of contractions, an hour after we got the hospital they stopped. Took several more weeks for him to appear!

How much longer do they say for a referral, castles? So frustrating for you, all this waiting, no wonder you can't sleep. Hope it comes soon, you've gone through the mill enough. Does dh have to work 7 days a week every week at the moment?

Oli, why don't you try an online photo resizer as everyone so desperate for pup photos?

Indith · 23/09/2008 19:29

Efficient! Me?! Lol. Was actually sitting down after creche drop off to look at cv as there is a job in th elanguages department that I want, nothing major just a couple of hours a week. Efficiency does not happen as a general rule in this house!

Ds gone to sleep, Dh due back after 11 from arse end of nowhere near Ipswich, dinner in front of MN before I muster the energy to tidy up!

EustaciaVye · 23/09/2008 19:41

DD refused a bath tonight. 2nd night in a row.

"No bath. Want bed"

Me: Ok lets get pyjamas on.

"Ved, Ved, Ved (screeches)"

Me: What????

"Ved, Ved, Ved (screeches)"

Me: Oh, vest. As well as PJs? So DD2 has gone to bed with no bath, at 6.40 (45 mins early) with vest and pyjamas and new (thick) duvet saying she is cold....

LenniEd · 23/09/2008 19:43

Still manic here - tradeshow this weekend - so just checking in. I'm sure I'm going to miss all the action (away Thurs, Fri and Sat am), but will endeavour to find my way online at some point.

Have recovered now from your super-efficient moment Indith - job sounds good, foot in the door perhaps?

Olihan · 23/09/2008 20:52

Cute puppy pics now available on my profile . (Thanks for the link, AQ, tis fab!)

I have vague recollections of having very strong BH near the end with ds2, which at the time I thought were proper contractions but came to nothing. They definitely did something though, as all 10lbs 2oz of ds2 shot out in just over 2 hours . Fingers crossed this is the preparation and the actual event will be very straightforward. Are they both head down and ready for the off? I can't remember if you said.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 23/09/2008 21:14

That's exactly how my dog looks after she's had the super short cut.

Ah, I bet she's so soft....and her teeth so sharp

Olihan · 23/09/2008 22:13

Yep, teeth are definitely present and correct

Elibean · 23/09/2008 22:28

She's gorgeous, but I think I'll stick to cyber kisses till she learns to keep her teeth to herself

EV, your dd2 sounds sooo sweet. Its funny/sad when they get so indignant about not being understood, isn't it? dd2 gets louder and louder till I get whatever it is she's telling me, then says 'YETH. Mumma.' And I swear if she knew how to roll her eyes, she would.

Castles, am cyberly paw-holding re neurologist referral...anything like that puts me totally on edge (hips were bad enough, heads would be worse) no wonder you're not sleeping well. Hope the appointment comes soon, and is less bad than the waiting bit

dh back from work, and thinks he's breathing a teeny bit more easily (I don't like him driving on codeine and mega steroids , shouldn't think he's doing his best ever work atm either!). dd2 is Mediseded and in bed with a huge heavy cold, poor love.

AQ...you do sound v v imminent to me...

jabberwocky · 24/09/2008 03:05

Lol at indith's false alarm - and happy birthday btw

castles, I missed where you had definitely decided to go for/look into surgery. I can sympathize mucho on the head issues. We were lucky that the pediatrician made a passing comment about helmets at his one week check up triggering mad dash of googling by new mommy. So often it gets brushed off

oli, puppy sounds so cute. I am really at how few times I get on facebook. Just got home at 8:00 second night in a row. But, fingers crossed, this should be the last late night and the start of only 4 day weeks instead of six.

ev, ds2 generally wants his bath as soon as possible but does occasionally flatly refuse. I tend to just go with it...

eli, hope the steroids do the trick. I have a steroid inhaler for bad times and it is a miracle drug type thing, imo. I also used ds2's breathing machine when we all had RSV last year.

AQ, I guess I'm going with Saturday. Haven't seen that one yet but may have missed it. v tired tonight so signing off now.

castlesintheair · 24/09/2008 14:37

Thanks Eli & Jabber

I don't know if anyone else saw on FB that SachaF has had another baby

A-hem, AQ ?

Indith · 24/09/2008 18:13

Really? Has she? Without telling us? The shame of it

Guides tonight, went to aqua natal today leaving ds asleep since dh was working from home. Forgot how shattered it makes you!

jabberwocky · 24/09/2008 20:41

Wait, sacha?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 24/09/2008 20:48

Congratulations Sacha!

babypowder · 24/09/2008 21:49

Ugh. Been very ill. Ugh.

Just popping in to see how everyone is before I dive back into bed.

Congratulations, Sacha, if you're dropping in!

accessorizequeen · 24/09/2008 22:20

Sacha did tell us she was pg & due in Sept, I seem to recall but disappeared thereafter.

bp, get better soon

still here. Sigh.Entire afternoon/evening of contractions yet again leads to nothing. By the time I get to the birth I'm going to take any pain relief that's offered I'm so fed up of it.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 24/09/2008 22:38

Just remember AQ, tomorrow's the day! (Well, it had better be.)

get well soon bp.

We have the house to ourselves. no dog or children. So DH has tried to set the house on fire. grr.

I'm off to bed now.

Elibean · 24/09/2008 22:54

Poor BP, whats been up? Hope better soon, whatever it is...

Congratulations Sacha

Hang in there AQ, hope you get some sleep and don't get too exhausted from all those cx before the birth itself!

Speaking of sleep...must get some. Think I'm catching dd2's cold. Thankfully dh seems bit better, though definitely weird on those steroids: he can't sleep, and I caught him manically eating half a tub of ice cream tonight

jabberwocky · 25/09/2008 01:53

You're right AQ, she did tell us

eli, I gained 7 pounds in one week on steroids several years ago. You think about food constantly!

sorry you've been ill, bp. Horrible sinus headache over here. I've been dragging all day. Had thankfully cancelled clinic yesterday - no way could I have made it through.

Elibean · 25/09/2008 08:23

jabber, I gained 14 lbs in my first trimester of each pg due to steroids Amazing but horrid things.

Hope your sinus headache gets better, they are horrid things too. Methinks the season of bugs is upon us

Good morning AQ.....?.....?
