lol, I did do the 5km! 38mins, which I actualy didint think was too bad under the circs. Could feel the stitches rubbing a bit though, so #I';m gonna pay for it tonight I'm sure.
And a great goodie bag this year I'm gonna keep alot of the food bits etc for dh fo xmas, as it wont come off the £7 budget we have for each other (yes, have checked the dates!)

Friz, ds1 statrs reception on Friday.

Jas · 07/09/2008 16:34

Well done on the run, mrm

Reception

mustrunmore · 07/09/2008 17:39

Er, no Jas. Its reception whilst jumping up and down! He's not full time for a omnth though ... 2 weeks of picking up at 11.45am, then 2 weeks of staying for lunch so going home 1.15pm.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/09/2008 19:42

I do think the reception starting thing is crazy- no 2 schools do it the same, and what the hell are you supposed to do if you work FT?
Its probably not particularly fun if you've got younger ones to drag out at 2 hour intervals either- at least you (mrm and Friz) just have the 1 younger one- imagine if you had 3 others !

Big marker though... how do you stop yourself crying in the playground?

mrm- 38 mins excellent for assisted 'run'!

Friz- yes I am somewhat annoyed in the fact that until I can clear all the 12-18mo dresses etc I can't actually fit a crib/cot in my bedroom

Am currently making space by clearing out stuff that I'll never wear again!

mustrunmore · 07/09/2008 20:38

Crying? lol. am not at all sentimental or maternal!

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/09/2008 20:54

I think I'd take longer than 38 mins without a dodgy foot. See you tomorrow mrm.

Knackered and achy here tonight - foot jabbing in my ribs is somewhat uncomfortable.

Had a lovely time at friends for lunch today. They have a 2.5 yr old and a 4.5 year old, and they were upstairs all playing together, whilst we adults sat down saying how nice it was that they were old enough now to get on with it a bit. Then one of friends went up to do a quick check on them to find that they had flooded the bathroom, blocked up the overflow with a whole load of toilet roll, drawn with chalk on the walls, emptied a tube of toothpaste (older one admitted that this was him) and some baby bath for good measure.
Reminded me a bit of the toiletries and flour incidents at Christmas mrm .

mustrunmore · 07/09/2008 20:57

Fond memories eh?!

EachPeachPearMum · 07/09/2008 21:56

Surely they know that the only time you really need worry is when they go silent?

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/09/2008 21:59

Oh they weren't silent at all EPPM. Lots of laughter and running around sounds. They all seemed to think it was lots of fun!

Jas · 07/09/2008 22:17

csws...I don't let ds upstairs on his own unless he is shut in his room, for a very good reason.

EPPM, as a non-working parent, school seems like a long time, but I know working parents find it much harder than catering for preschoolers. They are too little to be unsupervised, but with 1/2 days holidays and inset days it is a nightmare trying to fit a job round it.

DD1 did half days Sep to Dec when she started, dd2 went full time immediately as she is a September baby.

DS should start full time, but when he does, dd1 will be at secondary, and dd2 still in juniors. It means my options for dd1 are very limited...even if I could guarantee having a car and no job to prevent me taking her to school, I still couldn't do that and drop ds off every day. The localdumping ground is looking more and more like the only option.

No crying in the playground here, either(Heartless woman that I am) There were crying mums at the junior school this week when dd2 moved up though

mustrunmore · 08/09/2008 08:41

Arghh! My left calf today. Feels like the muscle is twice the size, as a result of being on tiptoes yesterday!!!
Just signed up for the 3 hour aerobics in Regents Park at the end of the month. I'm gpoing to love it! Anyone want to join me??? Have a sofa bed for you if needs be.

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/09/2008 08:50

Oh yes please. 3 hours of aerobics a couple of days before I'm due to give birth sounds like just what the doctor ordered .

I have 2 sore feet come out in sympathy mrm. Toe on one and heel on the other.

mustrunmore · 08/09/2008 09:19

Well, it might speed things on a bit!!

Jas · 08/09/2008 11:05

No I don't want to do aerobices for three hours!

Frizbe · 08/09/2008 22:55

at 3 hours of Aerobics, CSWS you should go for it, seriously you'll be on here, begging us to drag that baby out of you by then remember what Flame was like last time

I didn't cry in the playground, hurrah and nor did dd1, phew! she loved her 1st day, lets hope tomorrow goes as well Will get a photo posted on here in a day or so when I get my ass into gear! (in fact knowing how many probs I've had doing that in the past I'll just email it to you all and someone can pass it onto EPPM as I don't think I have your mail address me dears)

Had lovely tea at Frankie and Bennys last night with ss and the girls, seeing as we had to drop him for the 1st time on a Sunday we treated him to nice tea dd2 loved it, was bopping to the music and kept running to the toilets, to hear the Italian lessons they put on in there

EachPeachPearMum · 08/09/2008 23:11

Friz- have catted you. Glad she enjoyed

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/09/2008 20:51

Lovely pic Friz.

Good day here. Dd at school so I went to meet Tutter and collect a big box of boys clothes from her. She is lovely .

Another day at school tomorrow, so I'm off to meet my doula again and do a load of shopping. Got to get a new mattress for the moses basket (with stand) that I got off e-bay for a fiver the other day .

mustrunmore · 09/09/2008 22:04

Meant to ask you; did dd not have a moses basket? Was lying in bed wondering how you have 2 stereos and a vcr up the loft but didnt keep any babysleepingdevice!

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/09/2008 22:11

lol. Borrowed moses basket from friend for dd, and then bought crib. Still have crib, which ds will sleep in (I hope!) in our room, but want moses basket so that he can nap downstairs/other people's houses. Was working on basis that if I didn't get one it didn't matter, but if I could get a bargain then I would, and obv I did.

Frizbe · 09/09/2008 23:08

I never had a basket of our own either! borrowed a M&P pram the 1st time, which doubled as a basket and then sil gave me her moses basket 2nd time round

mustrunmore · 10/09/2008 08:33

We got our moses basket as a wedding present!

EachPeachPearMum · 10/09/2008 09:03

CSWS- Tutter doesn't really wear crocs does she?
mrm- -were you already pg? otherwise- odd present!
We had a moses basket last time, has been lent out since but we have it back now. Just awaiting return of the bedding.

mustrunmore · 10/09/2008 13:25

FredAndGeorge · 10/09/2008 19:38
