Tips for daytime nap transfers?

DS is 6 weeks and stopped transferring during the day a couple weeks ago. Night time is no problem, he transfers to a bedside crib but only after 9.30pm for some reason!

I've been feeding/rocking to sleep then trying to transfer for each nap but he wakes instantly or within 20 mins. I have then been contact napping for the rest of the nap. It just doesn't seem to be working - i'm a first time mum.

Any tips - I'd really like to get some rest myself during the day when he sleeps even just a half hour cat nap. He hates swaddle/ love to dream and I'm not comfortable co-sleeping. We have the tutti bambini cozzee so I can put the side down but not really sure how to make that work for naps? Any ideas?

I hate to say it but sometimes babies just.. won’t 😅 I tried (what I think was!) everything with my two but my first only contact napped til 3 months, which was okay to be honest, and my second only contact napped until she was over one 😂

eta they would nap in the car mind you, and occasionally in the pram.

Do you have space to wheel the pram back and forth?

My baby just wouldn't sadly. I did contact naps for the first 4 months then worked really hard getting her to nap in the crib to start with. I used to get so frustrated but its such a short period I would do the contact naps. Alternative is a sling so you can do jobs round the house

My eldest would never ever transfer but my youngest is 2.5 now and I can transfer her from the car To a pram and back again and she’ll still be fast asleep!! No tips I’m afraid that’s just how they came!

My baby is the same. Sleeps beautifully in her own crib at night, no chance of putting her down during the day, even if I stay right next to her and constantly touching and shushing her. So I hold her / carry in the sling about 95% of the time from 7am to 7pm. I’m just counting my blessings that the nights have been so good. Can’t have it all!

Baby is only 6 weeks it's what they want the closeness with mum, exhausting as it is it's what happens. Be glad you didn't have twins :)
