Development concerns

Hi,

Our baby is not social smiling or cooing at 9 weeks at all, though otherwise seems normal. Her hearing test was fine. Makes good eye contact when awake. Tracks black and white flash cards and parents. Still no smiles and cooing!!

Pediatrician has asked us to wait for another month saying some kids take time. First baby was already smiling at 6 weeks so it’s hard not to worry.

Did anyone else have anything similar, and how did it work out?

Thanks
Super worried mummy

Do you have reasons to be looking for difficulties with development? Family history or difficulties with the birth?
She's really young to be looking for professional assessment or advice for social communication and interaction.
All babies are different, including siblings, and develop at their own rate.
Please try not to compare her especially at this early stage. Try to relax and enjoy time with her.
I know it can be tough.
