F also has an obsession with the toilet! Luckily we don't spend a huge amount of time upstairs during the day so she doesn't get chance to get near it!

mammyjo · 03/07/2008 15:50

Glad you are ok CD. Hope the cough clears up soon

CaptainDippy · 03/07/2008 16:13

Oh we've got a downstairs toilet too (tis posh down south don't you know )

Ooohh, posh indeed!!

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 16:18

ahem - I live in the North and I've got a downstairs loo and my baby isn't at all interested in it so I think that means I can outposh Dippy any day

geordieminx · 03/07/2008 16:20

i,M BORED

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 16:26

Proper post now

Mammyjo - great to hear you are getting on so well - Hurrah for cheese

Dippy - sounds like a good report from the doctor then really - hope the cough stops soon

Caz - Does Dancer know she's keeping us all hanging on with bated breath - I wish she would get a move on. Of course if she does then we'll all have to be on foalwatch with you in however many months horses are pregnant for - 11? I'm sure it said and the farm we went to with Dippy at the weekend but I didn't pay attention

Very interested to read of all the baby food stuff. B like scambled eggs and omelets - she feeds herself the latter and I do the former with a spoon. She is very anti using the spoon herself so in many ways that makes it easier to get stuff into her as I just spoon it on in.
Jackets
Pizza
Fish fingers
Chicken
Sausages
Yorkshire pudding
Cheese on toast/toasties
Crumpets and other 'teatime' foods
Bolognase
Lentil soup
She still has a bit from jars as well - especially if we're out. I got through quite a few at the weekend!

Ok day at work in that nothing dreadful happened but I'm SO busy it's untrue. Just spend the whole day rushing and not getting very far although I did go through my to do list today and was able to tick off a pleasing amount.

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 16:26

Hi GM - did you get sorted with nursery for C?

liath · 03/07/2008 16:37

MJ, am so glad you're feeling better .

Food-wise firm favourites are fish fingers, casseroles, roast chicken, toad in the hole/yorkshire pudding, pasta & tomato or bolognaise sauce etc. They are getting mild curry tonight and ate a fairly aromatic thai-style chicken in coconut milk thing yesterday which I was surprised at. Veggies are limited, neither will touch much other than peas or carrots.

Will drop an email round for a scottish meet.

Dd has put ds into one of her dresses, very funny. Wonder if I should take a photo for posterity .

geordieminx · 03/07/2008 16:39

NL - Have his name down for Sept when they open.

HSBC which is the first job I got have a subsidised nursery but I havent heard a thing from them since they rang to offer me the job - said it could be July/Aug or Sept start, just when they have enough for training programe but I would have expected at least a written offer - idiots.

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 16:44

That is bad of them - they should have sent something by now. Do you have a name to chase?

geordieminx · 03/07/2008 16:50

No but to be honest I'm not really that arsed... does that sound bad??

Before C I was earning £20ph+, and to into a job where after childcare I would be earning £10 a week for working 4 half days, plus possibly having to do half a day every other weekend doesnt really inspire me. It was alsways goig to be more of a long term thing - hoping that in a few years I could work my way up but at the moment it just seems more hassle than its worth.

Dp just got a rise which is more than I would earn, so balancing it up at th moment I cant really see the point - 4 1/2 days, having to put C into nursery, and still having to do all the shit around the house... for £10 a week? I think not.

Does that sound really flippant and selfish?

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 17:00

no absolutely not selfish. Even if it's 1/2 days four days is a lot - I should know! And to be left with a very small sum does remove a lot of the incentive doesn't it.

geordieminx · 03/07/2008 17:06

I think if it was 2 full days it wouldnt be quite so bad - but 16 hours spread over 4 days just seems like madness

cazboldy · 03/07/2008 17:11

that is precisely why I don't bother GM - plus with 2 allday (5 pt) to find child care for, it would be a nightmare!

I have 3 toilets

but will only have 1 when we move..........

The farmer rang today, and said that he has ordered some gates for the drive way, and that he has a man going round tonight to discuss applying for planning for converting the garage.....

NL - Yep horses are pg for 11 months..... If and when she does finally conceive, I think I will worry more about her pg than I ever did any of my own !

geordieminx · 03/07/2008 17:20

How will you know if they have done the deed? Assuming they are left together?

cazboldy · 03/07/2008 17:23

that is the problem Gm - she is being watched, but not 24/7 - they will almost definitely get down to it eventually, and then we will wait and see if she comes back into season next month......

then she can either have a scan, or a urine pg test just like us!

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 17:24

They'll be very lovey dovey for a bit GM and then he'll go out to the pub and Dancer will ring her best mate for the post-mortem

geordieminx · 03/07/2008 17:26

just wasnt sure whether they were togther 24/7 or just put together for a while and watched - poor souls they probably want somw privacy!!

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 17:27

it's like pandas isn't it? How can anyone expect then to get it on with the worlds press at the door!

cazboldy · 03/07/2008 17:32

lol usually they are held during the whole thing - most are too valuable to be allowed to just get on with it naturally, incase of biting, kicking etc

cazboldy · 03/07/2008 17:34

must get on and get the lo's tea. Have got to go to a new parents evening at ds1's new school tonight to buy uniform etc - God knows how I am going to feel if Ellie felt young at M's school

Bramshott · 03/07/2008 18:05

Oh god, give me strength!!! I cooked a spanish omlette with potato and salami, and I thought it was rather tasty, but no, neither of them would eat it (I think O picks up vibes from N!). I took the mature route of slamming out of the room . Now they're eating bananas and yoghurts - does that count as a balanced meal? There is no way I am cooking them anything else!!!! This reminds me why I give them the same four bloody dinners all the bloody time! Grrr!!!

NorthernLurker · 03/07/2008 19:28

Bananas and yoghurt is very balanced - well done!

Omelette sounds yummy - I'm sure if you keep on dishing it up they'll learn to love it - or starve

I've just made a cake for Dh's ungrateful work colleagues.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 03/07/2008 19:34

that reminds me of when we were kids, when mum left I was just 12, sis was 10, boys were 4 and 3. Dad got into the habit of cooking 4 different meals as we were all so fussy but in different ways and he couldn't be bothered with the arguments! Explains why I'm so bad now (ask anyone I've stayed with/eaten out with, they'll confirm it!)
