Good to see you Martincat aka GGF. Good luck with the midwife training.

elkiedee · 01/07/2008 09:54

Thanks for the birthday wishes. It was actually yesterday, but the most celebrating I've done was the night before, my dad took us out for a birthday meal to a local Turkish restaurant, and D enjoyed an assortment of new tastes then didn't sleep until very very late.

cazboldy · 01/07/2008 10:54

Happy birthday for yesterday Elkie

I had a dreadful night with molly - she was so hot.....I gave her nurofen and calpol, and in the end had a fean on her and sponged her with tepid water, but she didn't get to sleep properly until 3.45 am (so your info is correct MJ!) I have rung the doctor, and they said I am doing all the right things, but that if I am very concerned, or she isn't better by the end of the week then they will see her, but that there is not a lot else they can do.......

Ds1 has gone to spend a day at high school, and I am feeling very odd about that - even worse than when he started school! (daft mother!)

Pisha - so glad Maia is better now xxx

SOL - I hope K is ok.

Hello Martincat

Dancer has given her suitor a black eye for his trouble I hope she gives in soon...I hope I got her dates right!

Hello to Dippy, Oooggs, SPB, Dooby, Lexi and anyone else I have forgotten to mention

Hi all

WO - fab news about the job, sooooooo pleased for you

Octo - NO JOB???? what gives?

I'll type the text I got from Pesha as I see her posts are their usual minefield of m's (This was on Sunday but might explain why M was in hospital a bit better!)
"I'm in hospital with M. She had headche and being sick and some meningitis symptoms so they admitted her but don't think it is that now. They have taken blood and urine (her first wee since yesterday so good timing on her part!) and she's just had a chest xray to check for pneumonia but they think it's just a virus. probably the same as the boys had only worse. She's not stopped being sick all day and her head and neck really bad."

She was well enough to complain that Pisha put big brother on the tv not long after that though

My Nan died last night, not expected at all, she had a stroke last night but there was no indication it was the end, she had improved on admission to hospital. I had a text from Skott at 7.30 last night to say she was in hospital, then a phonecall at 6am (they had been waiting until they thought I would be awake) to say she died in the night. Feeling a bit numb tbh, I was like this when my great-grandfather died, I feel I should be crying, but just can't. It all seems rather surreal. Went to work today, felt like I'd be better there than at home, but my boss has said to take time off whenever I need to.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 01/07/2008 14:49

While I'm here, going to have my haircut tomorrow, time for a big change. What should I do? Has been the same style since I grew it long when I was 12, I need to do something drastic!

elkiedee · 01/07/2008 14:53

Sorry to hear about your grandmother going so suddenly, POTC.

geordieminx · 01/07/2008 15:04

Hey POTC - So sorry to hear about your nan - is she the one that used to look after the boys?

Hair - I love mine now it is short - so easier to do and trendier. Its like Rhiannas?

God I am boreder than a bored thing today... was supposed to be meeting a friend for lunch but she cancelled at the last minute so we have just been bimbling about. Went to local retail park to look for some canvass to paint but they didnt have any so went to Pets at home - C poked a wee boy in the eye

Then went to comet so that he could play with the washing machines and such like - its his favourite thing at the moment
Its rock n'roll in our house .......

PillockOfTheCommunity · 01/07/2008 15:12

No, my Gran looks after the boys sometimes, my mum's mum. This was dad's mum, his dad died some years ago.

I'm gonna have to go look for photos of your hair now!

geordieminx · 01/07/2008 16:48

POTC - Integrated Dishwasher????

cazboldy · 01/07/2008 17:05

POTC - very sorry to hear about your nan

If you need a hand or anything, let me know xxx

Sexonlegs · 01/07/2008 17:46

Hello.

Happy Belated birthday Elkie

POTC, sorry to hear about your nan. Hope you are ok.

Caz, poor Molly. And poor you. How is she now?

Pisha/POTC, how is M?

GM, did your day get any more interesting???

K is not right. She has no temperature, but she slept until 9 this morning and has had another 3 1/2 hours sleep today.

When she wakes up she has been really clingy, really tired and really tearful. Just seems really lethargic. She is also off her food big time.

I have no idea what's up.

Feel stressed.

Doobydoo · 01/07/2008 18:27

Sorry about your your Nan POTC.
Happy Belated Birthday Elkie
SOL,Is she drinking?

Sexonlegs · 01/07/2008 18:54

Hi Dooby, yes, fortunately she is drinking.

Really bizarre.

oooggs · 01/07/2008 19:15

ellie - sorry about your nan - you have mail

martin cat (GFF) - glad Rose is doing well

sol - poor K - hope she improves soon

elkie - belated birthday greatings also I didn't have any nuts/alcohol last Christmas either as I was pregnant

pisha - how is Maia doing?

caz - poor M - hope she feels better soon - hows Dancer doing

dooby - I have eaten most (3/4) of the box and shared some (the ones I don't like)

lexi - I don't like being pregnant or conception

gm - sorry your day was boring, I only like boring days when I am bored on my own

have acupuncture tomorrow and need to ring to book dating scan

NorthernLurker · 01/07/2008 19:23

Ok - here I am with enough energy and time (sort of) to post so here I go with the ultimate in a catch up post!!!

GM - sorry to hear about Archie. Hope he is continuing to improve. Hurrah to fitting into your jeans - well done you!

Eddas - if you are still looking into vouchers I think the Busy Bees website has a section on it for employers with the savings for them enumerated. Might be useful.

Lexi - I know people who have been to Dubai both to live and for holidays - you will have a great time! Really pleased to hear your house news as well.

Oooggs - no use to you on maternity clothes I'm afraid. I occupy considerably more space than you do even when I'm not pregnant! Glad to read you're signed off - you've done very well to last this long at work I think. Hope you feel better by next week. I should have seen the GP about being signed off when pregnant last time but stupidly I just struggled on - fat lot of good it's done me!

Weeonion - how fab that you have a new job! Well done - it sounds very interesting and how great that you've got rid of the nightmare commute and your pita boss! Well done once again

Mammyjo - how are you healing?

Caz - big job news down your way then! I think you've made absolutely the right decision and I really hope it turns into the opportunity of your dreams Great results at the show Poor Dancers suitor! Hope Molly is better soon.

Dippy - that seagull thing is outrageous. P looked very calm at the weekend though for someone recovering from a scenario which would have sent Tipi Hedren back for years!

POTC - So sorry about your Nan. What a shock for you, hope you are doing ok. Do take some time off work, I didn't when my gramps died and I really should have - it was only after I'd got through it I realised how hard I'd had to work at keeping things together. On a lighter note I've scrutinised those photos and cannot see either the passport or the phone. I've sent them off to my colleagues in the FBI though and I'm sure they'll enhance it sufficiently to reveal all In the mean time try inside the utensil pot or down the side of the fridge between that and the other units. I also think the shelves under the tv would pay investigating and the toy corner has some highly suspicious characteristics. Do not attempt to tackle that yourself but call for backup

Pesha - sorry you have had a tough time with all the dcs. Poor little Maia

Bramshott - hurrah for O walking

SOL - how are your sinuses now? Dh has just finished his second lot of abs for sinus/throat thing. I think you should definately see your GP if the heartburn comes back. I wonder if it is still the MMR that's thrown K off? Do hope she's back to her angel baby self soon. Sorry you're so stressed

oooggs · 01/07/2008 19:27

bloody hell NL

NorthernLurker · 01/07/2008 19:32

What can I say - I felt guilty for negelcting you all and I had the time as B is eating her own body weight in biscuits downstairs with dd2. Oh crap - suppose I should feel guilty about that now - life's never easy is it?

oooggs · 01/07/2008 19:41

Please help me out here - not long ago someone (maybe more) of you mentioned martianbishop and 'how sad' she now has a funeral tomorrow - what happened - I can't work it out

geordieminx · 01/07/2008 19:42

OOOggs - her husban died last week - he hadbeen very poorly for a while - not sure what it was, but it was terminal - cancer?
