Sorry if someone else has already started one - couldn't find it!

Much better night last night, maybe due to gripe water?

Was meant to be stayed asleep not just 'st'

VictorianSqualor · 27/06/2008 10:41

I have both your email addresses so Ellie, I'll email you Peachys so you can contact her back.

VictorianSqualor · 27/06/2008 10:54

Rolling over is obviously nothing to do with size. It's just our clever april babies.
Alex just did it and scared the life out of himself

sagitta · 27/06/2008 12:09

A slept through a feed last night OK, so it wasn't the best one to sleep through (the 10pm), but she went from 7.30 until 2am, which would have been great it I'd gone to bed at 8 - which obviously I didn't.

Sadly, she then fed again at 4 and 5, but it seems like a good start! I was wondering if I should have woken her - then maybe she'd have gone through the rest of the night, but I wanted to see how long she'd go.

I have just had a long call with the guy who is doing my job at the moment, and I am a control freak bit scared he is not doing it properly, so I am now itching to get back to work. When is anyone else going back?

Niceychops · 27/06/2008 12:14

Found this lovely dress in my wedding dress trawl - but why so f-ing low-cut? Do brides really want to look this tarty? My mum would go mad. Balls, cos otherwise it's so nice.

Niceychops · 27/06/2008 12:19

PS Sagita I am exactly the same about my job - freaked out the guy who has taken over is making a hash of it and feeling like I should be in there watching over his shoulder!

I never thought of myself as a control freak till handing over to go on maternity leave!

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 12:24

That's great, Sagitta.

Re work - I don't really know. The plan was to stop working for now, but I have to admit I miss earning my "own" money, and even (sad, I know) sometimes miss the job itself. So I don't know - on the one hand I think maybe it will be nice working a couple of days a week in 3 months or so, but on the other hand - I can't actually imagine how I'd feel then. And obviously if we go ahead and try for another baby soon, I'd stay at home longer. Maybe I'm destined to be poor for years to come

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 12:29

Niceychops, that's so lovely! It's a shame, I think you'd look beautiful in it!!! Hmm, you could still go for it - I guess if there's ever a time that boobs look their best, it's now I wonder if it'll look a lot diff if just slightly, well, higher. Do you think they'd be able to adjust it a little, or would that spoil the style?

Niceychops · 27/06/2008 12:33

Might ask them if it could be adjusted. Haha - I am quite pleased to even HAVE boobs at the mo but not sure if elderly aunts want to share them!!

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 12:34

Sagitta & Niceychops - I can only imagine that it must be hard wondering if things are done "right" - I actually left my job, but it still worried me that things might go wrong! Think I wrote the world's most in detail procedure manual ever.

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 12:39

lol about elderly aunts. just jealousy i say!

I've got a cold again and DH has annoyed me slightly because he told his parents (!!!) to tell me to stay in (as if rain would dissolve me or something). So now I'm sitting on sofa with laptop and box of Quality Street chocs. So far I've had - wait, let me count - 10. I feel slightly nausious. Not enough to stop obviously. Roelof sleeping at my feet in his buggy. Life is good.

sagitta · 27/06/2008 12:40

Sal - so did I (write a detailed manual). The twat guy lost it and decided to write his own....

niceychops - that's beautiful - but quite a plunging neckline, especially while boobs are full! Adjust it? Wear something under it to sort of cut across the deepest part? Hold your bouquet over that bit - until you're pissed when its fine to get your tits out anyway ?

Niceychops · 27/06/2008 12:42

hahaha sagitta!

PortAndLemon · 27/06/2008 12:48

You could get a dressmaker to copy it for you but with slightly less plunge.

That style would definitely suit you.

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 12:48

hehehe sagitta. well, it would mean your wedding won't soon be forgotten, niceychops... Hmm, just take care not to dance too wildly if going for the bouquet option, NC - hitting someone on the head with a full boob might mean ambulances will have to be called in!

Denny185 · 27/06/2008 12:59

Or you could get some of that double sided tape stuff and stick it to your boobs

LadyBee · 27/06/2008 13:12

right, am back from GP - gave HV a call and she said it sounded like it would be worth going in esp. seeing it was Friday and would be a pain if it got worse on weekend. I used my new Bush baby sling which arrived this morning too from ebay purchase - it's great, v comfy and super easy to use.
GP prescribed an ointment for his eye, but local pharmacy doesn't have it in stock so we'll go out again after lunch to try to hunt it down. I'll bathe it, try some EBM in the meantime.

Thanks for the links VS, I think my first step will be to get hold of a copy of my notes and then maybe try to talk to midwifery head about some of my outstanding questions.

Sal...v jealous of the box of chocs (see above regarding constant chocolate craving) thought I was very virtuous avoiding the chocolate snack aisle of coop on way home but still seem to have managed to smuggle a chocolate muffin into my shopping. As long as I also eat an apple at lunch that's ok though, right?

Nicey, PAL's idea about getting a dressmaker to make an adjusted version of the dress is great - you'd be guaranteed a perfect fit too. It's a lovely style.

I'd sort of said I'd probably go back in January next year - it would make the most sense as our project/budget cycle runs Jan-Jan. sigh. Really don't want to think about that yet though. Am enjoying myself too much.

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 13:12

Niceychops - might be a silly question, but what were you planning on using on your boobs for, uhm, leakage? Or don't you? Why I'm asking - we're going to a spa next Sunday, and I've got no idea what to use instead of the disposable breast pads I normally wear... Has anyone used those Lilipads things? I'll browse the breastfeeding topic in a sec. I'll take my breast pump with me (we'll be back on Monday afternoon - inlaws babysitting Roelof) and express when he's normally drink, but still.

SuzeM · 27/06/2008 13:13

Hi ladies, haven't been on here in ages.

Ellie, I am glad your dp is doing well and that you have a new wedding date to look forward to.

Scorpio, hope you are ok.

I'm sorry I missed the London meetup, will try to make the next one.

We are great, E is nearly 10 weeks old now, eating and sleeping well. I put a photo of her in my profile.

I am really enjoying her, it helps that I have met a nice bunch of people through NCT and baby massage class so we are out and about a lot. I've also met a very nice Mumsnetter! This is a great area for kids. PortandLemon, I am in Putney a lot, I seem to end up in Carluccio's frequently.

Heading out now, hope you are all well.

PortAndLemon · 27/06/2008 13:48

Suze -- have you tried/encountered/heard of Cupcake?

I went to Carluccio's a lot when DS was a baby; he was virtually weaned on their mushroom risotto...

Niceychops · 27/06/2008 14:06

Sal, I was kind of hoping she will be weaned by then(will be 6 months exactly). Don't particularly want to be a breastfeeding bride. If not (and am learning babies have minds of their own!) then I guess breastpads..?

Sal22 · 27/06/2008 14:32

ah, ok, thanks niceychops. I completely forgot about the practicalities when I booked. But I guess as loads of people are swimming etc, it's obviously not a problem. Mine leak when I get out of the bath if full (sorry if tmi), so I don't want that to happen there!

Mum2BabyRoo · 27/06/2008 14:36

Stunning dress Nicey! If you are worried about your breasts being too much on show, perhaps you could get a lace (or something) insert put in where the plunge is.

Scampmum · 27/06/2008 15:22

Hello girls! It's great (and quite weird!) to be able to put faces to names. Ladybee, at the heroes comment, that'll be the makeup I slathered on on the bus then (shame? me? of course not, I've given birth twice). Your posts really crack me up - the way you write reminds me of Barbara Trapido (have you read any of her books?).

BCG morning here yesterday and someone has been a very grumpy little madam since. She's still settling really badly/not at all after that feed. Think I'll just resign myself to being a zombie for the next X months. I do have them both asleep now so I might head to the sofa, though I think DD1 will probably wake up shortly.

Nicey, gorgeous dress, you would look amazing in it.

Right, I'm going to grab some zzs. I'll think about what I'm going to cook for our dinner guests later. It's not as if I could leave the house now anyway. For dessert they can eat the cake that DD1 and I cooked yesterday afternoon when I couldn't think of anything else to do with her!

Oh, potty training going great - she went out without a nappy for the first time today! No wees in the buggy or car (I had to pick it up from the station), but one each in the living room and kitchen of my friend's brand new house...

ps I will think about work in January, but definitely not going back to my old job unless I'm up the duff, which looks unlikely at the moment!
