Random query regarding stress on post partum weight loss. My 14 week old baby has severe reflex, bottle aversion and poor weight gain. This has been such a stressful few months with baby and stared at 3 weeks and still baby not settled. I am very active getting over 20000 steps each day sometimes il to 30000 when baby unsettled with all the walking about. I do weights several times a week. I had been prioritising protein but recently with stress with babies bottle aversion my apetite/ intake have been minimal and sleep has been awful. The scales aren’t budging I do not know how i haven’t lost weight, I feel like I have and know I should have with tracking intake and being in clear calorie deficit. Is this all stress related? Cortisol effects, wedding rings still don’t fit post partum could be fluid retention. This is my third pregnancy and my other two with I did the same prioritised walking, weights and protein intake and the weight came off so easy. Anyone experience anything like this with stress causing body to hold onto post partum weight

Hi OP, I'm really struggling with losing weight too. My 3rd baby is now 25 weeks and in the last 5 years I've either been pregnant or breastfeeding so have had a lot of struggles with weight. Stress and sleep both really do affect weight, chatgpt has been really good with helping me to understand how postpartum weight loss can be really difficult. Sorry not much of a help, hoping others have anecdotal replies so watching with interest. You're doing incredible with how active you are! I hope you're also getting support with baby and sorry that it's been difficult for you.

I didn't start losing the baby weight until 6 months post partum, I was too sleep deprived until then.

Regarding reflux and poor weight gain, have you looked into CMPA? My baby had CMPA and it was so stressful, I don't know what it's like to have a healthy baby that just eats and sleep....

I didn't really start to lose weight until my periods restarted at 10 months. I didn't change anything, and was suddenly losing 3kg per month. For me it must be the hormones. I'm dreading the menopause now!
