How to manage reflux

Hi all, i think my 3 week newborn has reflux and i've tried most advice and i don't know what to do to make him feel more comfortable. Has anyone struggled with this, anything you've tried, or seen others try?

I'm currently feeding him via combo of breastfeeding and formula (as my supply isn't enough yet).

Even after a relatively good feed when he hasn't shown discomfort, and sitting him up for a good 20min, a trigger (usually lying down him for nappy change) would make him cough/vomit milk up in distress, +/- hiccups with milk.

Sometimes he'd be lying in his cot then cough up milk and be in distress.

Only thing we haven't tried is a thickener and meds like omeprazole (which i'd rather avoid).

It's really upsetting seeing him in distress with feeds like this...
