Toddlers born March 03

Hi there, are there any mum's out there with toddlers that were born in March 2003? My son was born on 29th, and has only recently found a sleeping routine that ACTUALLY works for him. It's heaven I actually get time to myself after 7pm in the evening. He won't eat dinner though, is that normal, and he only say's about 5/6 words?

Hi I have a toddler who was born in april 2003.he only says 2 words, car and dog. My ds NEVER goes to bed before 8:30pm, often not til 10. My hv says if he understands simple "commands", talking isn't really an isue at this age.

Hello, my ds was born 27th March 2003 and he doesn't talk, he gabbles! He seems to understand what he's saying because he repeats himself over and over again, but it isn't comprehensible to the adult ear. He's in bed by 6.30pm and wakes between 6am and 6.30am everyday. With his feeding, its a bit hit and miss really. Somedays he eats incredibly well and i honestly don't know where he fits it, but then other days, he eats breakfast and then maybe the odd snack or two. He's full of energy though so i'm really not too worried.

Hi, my dd2 was born on Feb 19th 2003 - she doesn't have many words either - the ones she has are very unclear. I have spoken to a speech therapist (who I was seeing with my ds anyway) and she said not to be concerned about lack of talking until she is about 2.3.

She is pretty good at sleeping, although we had a bad patch a couple of months ago when she started refusing to go to bed and woke up lots in the night. She does get up early though.

She will only eat pasta really...

My son was born on 18 march 2003 and his speech is excellent. he uses sentences all the time and is his comprehension is brilliant. We were in the car the other day and a plane went over. he said that he said that he wanted to go in the plane with .. and preceded to name every member of our family. I was so proud. His secret is hothousing ( only joking!!) His speech is much more advanced than my older daughter was at his stage, but there is only a year between them, and this closeness in age has precipitated much copying between them good (and bad) my daughters speech didnt explode like this until she was at least 30 months. I have several friends with boys who at 3 didnt speak much but they are clearly very bright and just manage to get along with less speech than some other children. We figured that they have just chosen to focus on other areas of development.

My little boy was born on 16th March 2003. He is a terribly faddy eater too and is eating hardly anything lately. He drinks loads though and the HV said its ok so not to worry.

He chats loads though, but I wouldnt worry too much that your little man isnt saying much at the moment, they all develop at their own time.

Well done on getting him to bed at 7pm, I wish I could do that with mine, its usually between 8.30 and 9pm.

My ds was born on 28th March. I'm lucky that he goes to bed (normally) between 7 - 7.30pm and gets up around 7am (although last night he went to bed at 6.30pm as fell asleep, and woke up at 6am). HOWEVER, he refuses to have naps in the day so he really needs his sleep by 7ish!

He's very chatty with a mix of clear words and babble but I always know what he's saying. This has all developed very quickly and back in January (when this thread started), he was only saying odd words!

As for eating, he's always had a very good appetite until recently. Sometimes it seems like he's hardly eaten anything and other times he eats so much I think he's going to pop! The main thing is he loves his fruit and eats a lot of veg too, I guess it just depends what mood he's in - most kids this age go through phases!

Okay I'm in. Bob sleeps, eats and talks well, but is allergic to peanuts, eggs, latex, bananas and avocado.

Mine was 4th April 03, can I join? I don't think there is one for me, and he was due on the 19th of March!

mine sleeps very well, by my standards.... he often doesn't go to bed until 9;30pm, but very rarely gets up before9am!

Hi Bobbybob & Colditz, finally getting more members!

Bobbybob - how on earth do you cope with so many allergies? Must be really scary! Do you have to keep an epipen with you in case he reacts to something?

Colditz - how lovely it must be to not have to get up til 9am!! I suppose I could put my ds to bed later and he get up later but I like to watch my soaps in piece!! Also, now I'm a childminder I need to be up and running early so sleeping in isn't an option anymore Worth it though!!!

I'd love to join you - DD is a little bit older - born 6.1.03 - but I've not seen any threads for children of her precise age. And a difference of two months is getting less and less important as they all get older, I should imagine.

DD wakes up between 8 and 9 on the days when she doesn't go to nursery and still needs an afternoon nap. We are just starting potty training at the moment, taking advantage of the warmer weather for her to wander around nappy-less and knickerless!

Hi Oldie Mum - Welcome to the gang!!

Can only be quick as in the middle of making a casserole for din dins. Good luck with the potty training. I wanted to try with my ds but he's just not having it and I've been advised to leave it til he's a bit older as boys tend to start later. He's goes mad when his nappy is off - think he likes it protecting his 'bits'!! I'm a childminder and have a new 2 year old girl starting a week tomorrow. Her mum wants her potty trained so I will start that and see if my ds decides he wants to copy!
