Oral Thrush

Hi,

Little boy is three months corrected and had started to feed poorly. He is combi fed and had gone from taking roughly 120ml bottles to taking 60/70ml bottles and needing fed more often. Dr says he has oral thrush and that is the cause of his poor feeding.

We are now on third dose of Nystatin and thrush hasn’t cleared and his fussiness is as bad as ever. Anyone had similar? Will thrush effect feeding to this extent? When did it clear, what treatment did you use?

When you say combo fed, do you mean he is part breastfed?

My ds had oral thrush as 3 months old, he was wholly breast fed and both of us needed medication to get rid of it. Or we just kept reinfecting each other.

Yea sorry part breast fed - I’ve been using the cream as well and not noticing any symptoms with myself. It’s a good point though and I might hold off putting him to the breast and just express for the next week. X
