I had a MC before I had Sophie. It obviously varies from person to person. I felt safer after 12 week scan, but still nervous. I think it's natural. Don't beat yourself up over it, allow yourself to feel it, it's normal, but try not to let it take over.
I only say this, with well meaning, as a good friend of mine MC twins at 8 weeks, she then got PG straight away again, and basically, by her own admission, didn't enjoy her pregnancy at all. She actually developed pre natal depression. She was a wreck. She said she just couldn't relax until baby was born, which she was, very healthily, in July last year. She (friend) is fine now.

What was a definite comfort to me, was knowing how very very common it is, and that it didn't mean that because I'd had one MC I would have more, IYSWIM.

I think there is a thread on here for pg after MC that I went on when I was pg with DD2. It should still be around....

Thinking of you, and sending lots of healthy vibes to babyLFS.

Thanks for welcoming me to this thread. LFS I had 2 m/c's and only relaxed once I was feeling lots of movement. Luckily DD2 was a right little wriggler so that was very reassuring. Statistically speaking though you should feel safer once past the 8 week mark as 75% of m/c's happen prior to this. However, reality is always different and no amount of rational thinking helps...I became glued to my prenatal heart monitor towards the end and am sure I spent many evenings being reassured by the sound of my indigestion! Congratulations though and hope you manage to relax and enjoy it.

Hi all! Welcome keevamum!
Not much to report with us except Dylan's tooth is much better, almost back in place and a normal colour! Phew, he had a lucky escape there! And he has finally started to tell us he needs a wee! Hurray!
LFS - i can empathise with the redundancy nightmare - DH has been too, along with most of south wales! Hope your dh finds a job soon

asuwere · 06/02/2009 20:23

Hi ladies,

just posting to make sure I don't lose the thread again after the changes - still a little disoriented..

hope everyone is doing well. Not a lot to report here, boys doing fine although DS1 has now decided his favourite word is 'why' - lovely!

Keevamum - sorry, I think I forgot to welcome you in my last post so welcome

plama · 06/02/2009 20:28

Hello everybody!
Have only just found us again, as haven't been on mumsnet for a while and couldn't find us last time. Silly me!
Am trying to be less grumpy and short tempered. DD2 does make it hard though, as she will only do as she is told after I've asked her 3 or 4 times then given up and yelled at her. Then she does what she's told, and cries, saying "so sowry mummy"

I just wish she'd do things on 1st or 2nd ask, then she wouldn't be so upset and neither would I. 6 year old is fed up with me shouting and has put me on a behaviour chart with the promise of breakfast in bed if I'm good. It is a sort of snakes and ladders type thing she's drawn and I have been told I can go down as well as up! Doing OK this week, but sorely tried when DD2 had major tantrum when I cut her slice of toast in two!

I know two year olds are hard , but DD1 never seemed this bad (selective memory maybe, mind you I did buy a toddler taming book for her so maybe I've forgotten the bad bits. With DD1 there was only her and we were more relaxed and didn't have to do school runs for older sister etc - so less harrassed mum and less pressure of time. I also lived near my mum then , so had more support and someone to help out for an hour or two . I suppose all that helped. Humm - I'm sure all this will pass. Any suggestions?

Best wishes
plama

asuwere · 07/02/2009 20:19

Hi Plama - totally understand your frustration, I hate being a shouty mum and when I do resort to it, DS1 ends up crying and saying "cuddles mummy!" Makes me feel very guilty... I have read one good tip which does seem to work most of the time though - if you have in your mind that you will have to ask 4 times, then it won't annoy you so much coz you're already prepared to repeat yourself IFSWIM? Unfortunately doesn't work all the time though - don't think anyone can be perfect all the time and remember 'this too shall pass' LOL

LittleFairySmile · 08/02/2009 15:51

Oh dear plama, my heart goes out to you! I feel a c**p mum at the mo', different reason though - ms taking it's toll and poor DS is watching a lot of TV! He's having a nap right now! So I'm grabbing some PC time!

luckymummy74 · 08/02/2009 20:03

asuwere ahhh, the why word....we know it well in this house!

plama feeling for you too. I've probably said this before but I tend to be quite strict with mine and I know a lot of my family and mates think I'm too strict, but I find that it actually keeps me saner to do so, IYSWIM. So, if I ask DD1 to do something and she doesn't, we have the 'count to 3' and if she's not doing it by the time I get to 3, she then doesn't get her DVD before bedtime. It's so hard but I stick to it, and she gets really irate, but I must admit, the next time I count to 3, she knows I mean business. I'm not trying to condescend you at all, just saying what works for us. Let us know how it goes.

Is anyone else loving charlie and lola??? DD1 has a few DVDs and I'm sure I enjoy watching them as much as she does!!

SleepyCaz · 25/02/2009 16:26

Hi is this the post natal thread for May 06 babies?

My DS is 3 in May o9 and new DD is 4 weeks old tomorrow.

Any tips on getting DS dry at ight. He is totally dry and in pants and boxers all day, but in a "pull up" at night, it's dry about 3 mornings a week.

luckymummy74 · 26/02/2009 13:48

Welcome sleepyCaz. Yes, you have the right thread, however, it's a very sleepy thread, IYSWIM!!! Not very regular posts, can I recommend abother thread you may find good, it's for people with two kids under the age of three..I think it's currently called tinsels and tantrums!!....You just about qualify and it's very helpful and friendly. That's not to say you're not welcome here at all BTW, it's just not a particularly active thread!!!

LittleFairySmile · 26/02/2009 16:31

This is a sleepy thread, I check in every now and then, but anyone would think we all have busy lives (what parent doesn't eh?).

I often wonder what on earth I did with my time before DS. He's asleep now, so got my PC time!

luckymummy74 · 28/03/2009 20:26

Hello??!!

Just bumping the thread to see how you all are?

Hockey, how are things??

louismummy · 11/04/2009 08:02

what's everyone getting their 3 yr olds????

louismummy · 11/04/2009 08:02

what's everyone getting their 3 yr olds????

keevamum · 11/04/2009 08:15

Hi yes I see what you mean by saying it's a very sleepy thread Well I am not spending much on DD2 for her birthday as we are paying for a party for her and some of her little friends so we have bought her a peppa pig rocket and some charlie and lola stuff as well. Lucky mummy 74 I took my DD2 to see the Charlie and Lola exhibition in Nottingham and she loved it. We couldn't get her to leave. She kept saying 'I am not leaving, never, not ever going to go....' A museum worker had to bribe her with some C and L stickers!

LittleFairySmile · 11/04/2009 16:30

We have couple of toys, but he is having a party at the local soft play at the weekend, and we are going to the zoo on his birthday. He already has so much stuff!!!

My breaking news - he's wearing big boy pants!!! Dry during the day, for the most part, we carry the potty around and he asks for it, so doing really well! It's been a whole week now!

And the why word has started!

luckymummy74 · 12/04/2009 19:15

DD1's birthday pressie

You can get them in blue too! Apparently very good as they learn to ride a bike without needing stabilisers as they learn to balance on this first.

She also has some C&L bits.

We also got both girls (their birthdays are 2 weeks apart) a little tikes playhouse for the garden on ebay.

Sophie is having a little party for her friends (6 of them) and then we are having a big family party for both girls birthdays the next day (BH weekend).

Tell me more about the Charlie and Lola exhibition!!!!!!!

Found out last week that Sophie will be starting nursery School in Sept!!!!!!!! The catholic school we got into only has one intake, so she'll be starting sooner than we thought!!

LM xx

keevamum · 12/04/2009 19:51

I love that bike it looks really cool. Even though we have bought her pressie I may have to get that aswell. C and L exhibition was good if you are a big fan. Are you near to Nottingham? If you are then I would definitely recommend it.

luckymummy74 · 15/04/2009 20:04

NOt really near NOttingham, in Herts.

louismummy · 15/04/2009 21:40

thanks for the bike suggestion, but he got one for his last b'day, so he could be like his big brother.

LittleFairySmile · 18/04/2009 21:16

We've been ill here - not good! But DS birthday party tomorrow and have just made the cake (it looks quite bad, but it is homemade with love) part of me thinks I should have just brought one!

Should we have a new thread, as title is a year out of date now?!?!

luckymummy74 · 28/04/2009 20:00

Well girls, we've managed a rather shocking 148 posts in a whole year!!!
