Labour Experience

Hi!

I had my baby 12 weeks ago and I was admitted to the hospital at 35 weeks due to me having preeclampsia and I was induced at 37 weeks. I have a lot of questions about my care during the time I was admitted into the hospital and during my induction/labour stage.

I don't feel like I had an absolutely traumatic birth, the birth itself was pretty straightforward but some of the care I received was questionable and for a few weeks after having my baby girl I swore I'd never have another because of how much it put me off.

Basically I was just wondering if there was anyone I can speak to who can just sort of clarify if what happened was okay or if I'm overreacting either a medical professional or maybe someone with just a bit of experience.

Any help is really appreciated x

You should be able to organise a debrief with your hospital. Give them a call and ask how to arrange it

@Mummyme87
My hospital is a bit weird they have no clear way to get in contact with them, they have no info about referrals on their website, maybe I'll have to ask my GP or HV

@OnMyJourney call the triage department, or email PALs.

i’m really sorry you experienced that @OnMyJourney. Contact PALS at your hospital and get a copy of your notes to read through and make notes/highlight bits you want to question or understand. If you google your hospital and birth debrief or birth reflection there should be an option that comes up. I’ve added mine below so you know what to look for. I found mine helpful. Wishing you the best.

Sorry I missed the bit where you said you have already looked online. I agree with PP and would call the maternity services at your hospital or even the community midwife line.
