When to move up a clothes size

I know this sounds like a really stupid post, obviously when the clothes get tight they need the next size up, but if they are say 2-3 months and 0-3 are a perfect fit, do you wait until they are too tight before moving on to 3-6 completely? Do you mix sizes? Or ignore sizes and base it on what fits comfortably regardless of label? My baby is still in 0-3 months but the feet are getting tight, 3-6 months are long on her although fit well in other parts. It’s not something I considered until now as she’s worn 0-3 since birth and all shops have different measurements. Thanks

If your buying anything new, I'd get the next size up, then take individual bits out of circulation as they get tight. If they fit in some places but not other, it might be worth experimenting with different types of outfit. One of mine was the right proportions for baby grows, but the other fitted better in leggings & top.
