10 month old can stand in cot now so refuses sleep

What do we do when this happens? My daughter at every nap time and bed time now will put herself up on the sides of the cot to stand and takes 10 times longer to go sleep with repeatedly laying her back down, but then sometimes she'll get really really upset. Is it okay to let her do it for as long as she likes? I worry she'll get overtired doing this but then think maybe she'll just run out of energy eventually? I don't know. Any advice appreciated xx

Is she fully asleep when you lay her down? I would try delaying putting her down until she is in quite a deep sleep.

If she wakes and stands up then rock her back to sleep and only lay her down once fully asleep again.

My 12 month old stands up a lot too. If I lay her back down while still awake there’s no way she will cooperate and stay down.

Think this is very common. I just kept laying them back down... Eventually they do give up! And they learn they won't win! Perseverence mama!

I remember this phase! My baby wouldn't give in and lay down, they just fell asleep standing up or slouched in sitting with their face squashed on the bars. Sometimes I could go in and lie them down and other times they would fall into lying and settle themselves eventually. We just had to roll with it.

We found the sleep sack really helped to stop this for a while
