I have started going to baby groups over the last few weeks. I can't seem to make a friend.

Today someone I spoke to last week appeared to purposely avoid having to sit near to me.

Im quite lonely socially, I don't have many friends and had thought this was a chance to make some friends.

I try my best to be friendly and ask questions etc, but people don't seem to want to talk to me.

What am I doing wrong?
Tempted to ask people directly at this point as I don't know what to do differently and feel so downhearted

So sorry that you haven't quite found your tribe.

The best advice I saw in MN was to look on other Mums as colleagues rather than looking to make friends. You've all got one thing in common so you can chat about that.

It might take you a while to find a group where you click as well. The first few groups I tried were awful, lots of bitching going on and definitely didn't welcome new members but then I tried a music group and met some lovely Mums through there.

Have you tried the Peanut and the Mush Apps. I know that there's a group of Mums in our village who've all met through Peanut Wink
