morning

feeling very pissed off today. No particular reason. DD is getting on my nerves (as usual) she knows which buttons to press the annoying little madam. It's the same things everyday. Gets so depressing.

Thank goodness MIL is taking them from 2pm or i think i'd go insane. Bloody hope dh isn't too hung over when he gets up. Just want some space from the dc. Love them but I feel i am either with them or at work atm.

Wonder what we'll do with our dc free time I'd like to go and try and find things for when we re-decorate the front room. Ikea being my main target Not sure dh'll be keen because it'll be hell on a saturday. BUT since we're dc free I don't care if it's busy. Doubt we'd buy today anyway, just look. Maybe i could go alone But i seem to do everything without dc's alone IYSWIM

Sorry very self absorbed post. Can you tell me mood

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2008 09:01

Feeling much the same, Eddas; but without hope of any child-free time Hope you enjoy it and you and DH can enjoy your time together!

I'm ok, just so tired of DD1 getting up so early and not knowing how to make her stop!! She's been up since 6am and I am shattered already - yuk! Worse thing is, she's shattered too

Arse.

Ahem. Anyway, hope you all have super weekends......

Eddas · 19/01/2008 09:12

aw cd my dd is just the same she got up at about 6.30 but is now saying she's tires isn't it werid and annoying.

I expect she'll have mil up at about 5 demanding tea!

mammyjo · 19/01/2008 09:18

Morning all. Didnt get on yesterday as I was in work. Had a good day though, lots of hands on clinical stuff with children and families, definitely the best part of the job.

CD, I cant wait to hear whether you are pregnant or not!! So exciting! Hope you are feeling ok xx

Pinions, can I get the email about the book too please? Sounds intriguing! Hope the pain is easing now too

Cant remember any more now. Bit miserable today as have had a letter from work and it turns out they have overpaid me a bit in my mat leave. Will be double checking as I am not convinced I could have missed as much as they are saying it is. If they are right then I have to make plans to start paying it back Shittiest possible timing as I have to start paying for F to go to nursery next month too. GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR. Bloody payroll, just trust them to get things right, wont be doing that any more!

mammyjo · 19/01/2008 09:20

Eddas, hope you enjoy your child free time later. Would agree that even if Ikea was busy, it will still be a breeze minus the children!! Hope you pick up soon, feeling down is so awful xxxx

elkiedee · 19/01/2008 10:55

Eddas, hope you've managed to sort something out for your childfree time.

MJ, that's so annoying about the money, hope you manage to sort something out.

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2008 11:03

& to ove-paymen MJ, glad it was a good day at work though I'm ok, just tired and a bit sicky - not sure if that's just tiredness or "something else"!!

Eddas · 19/01/2008 11:36

CD

DH has taken dd out to soft play and ds is asleep so have managed to sort some of dd's vast toy collection ready to take to MIl and leave there!

Just need to get some bits for ds now. Not sure she's expecting as much as i'm giving her though Doesn't look like i've taken anything from dd's room oh well!

dh has agreed we can go to Ikea There's loads of places at Lakeside to find some furniture and carpet for when we decorate the front room so seems like a good plan. So we'll all drop dc's at mil and head straight off. Think we'll have a curry tonight too can't wait!

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2008 11:44

Oooh, Eddas - sounds good - have a good time and I hope you find lots of good stuff for your front room that is affordable!

DH is out with older 2, bless him - Haven't had much of a break though as P woke up at 10.30 Most odd for her. I kept her going til 11.30, gave her lunch and she is back down again.

Going swimming this PM .....

Pesha · 19/01/2008 12:51

FFS just lost my post

runnyhabbit · 19/01/2008 13:36

Afternoon all

Well, we did not have a takewaway last night because dh and his mates vans got clamped
The restaurant/takeaway car park was a bit full, so they pulled up along side it (bearing in mind they've both got VW transporters - same size as transit vans) and they didn't want to block anyone.
Now dh is really concious about parking rules etc, so they made sure there were no restrictions/signs
Went into takeaway, and for some reason, his mate had to go back to his van, when he saw the vans had been clamped
Whoever did it must have watching, and bloody quick.
Their boss had to come down and pay the release fee which was £200 for each van They looked everywhere for a clamping warning. Nothing. It was night time, and poorly light.

So I've decided that the best way of making money, is to rent a piece of land, put a tiny clamping notice on it. Then charge a fortune to release vehicles.

Honestly, these people make me sick

runnyhabbit · 19/01/2008 14:23

mj at work. Its the last thing you need when F is starting nursery

maveta My mum was insistant at taking photos of me during pregnancy, esp the last few weeks. She kept saying "this might be the last photo we have before the baby arrives"

pesha lol at dh being groped

cd couldn't you curl up with one her fav films. If I know J is shattered, then I put something on which I know he enjoys (mary poppins atm) Only downside is, I'm usually asleep with him lol

WestCountryLass · 19/01/2008 15:12

Oh my good God, I left Leo in my dining room and I came back in and he has climbed on a chair!!!!! He is so fast and so everywhere, it is a nightmare, I might have to strap him into his high chair for the next few months!!!!

DS1 used to climb all the time but he was well past 1 before he attempted it!

Off to tear my hair out....

elkiedee · 19/01/2008 17:57

WCL, my sympathy, and wondering if D is going to be at Leo's stage in a few weeks. I daren't leave D in any room unless it's in his cot in the bedroom, playpen downstairs or sometimes his chair, but I'm not comfortable with leaving him alone in the highchair - it also functions as a low chair but he can move the chair forward with his feet like that.

Sexonlegs · 19/01/2008 18:05

Hi loves

Quiet on here again today.

Hope you are all well.

Hi WCL. Can't believe Leo is so active! Eyes in the back of the head anyone?

Elkie, hope you are having a good day.

Runny, how bloody annoying re the clamping. They are ruthless aren't they.

All ok here, although K has a dodgy tummy - again. I am getting rather hacked off with it. Don't know if it is a mild bug or what, but we seem to have a dodgy tummy every couple of weeks. Fortunately no sick - sorry tmi.

However, not stopping me and dh from going out tonight for dinner with friends

Hope you all have a good evening and see you tomorrow.

mammyjo · 19/01/2008 18:44

SOL, have a lovely evening

Runny, cant believe that about the clamping. £200 is absolutely ridiculous, and especially for what must only have been maybe 2 minutes?

WCL, cant believe Leo is so mobile!! Amazing!!

I am off out to a friends tonight and we are going to have a chinese takeaway - yum! Dh (who has been absolutely brilliant lately) is at home with the dc's, so I am off for a few hours of girly chat and yummy food. Have already planned what to eat though as I have been very good on my fat club plan and I dont want to fall by the wayside quite yet!

Eddas, hope you have had a nice, child free afternoon

mammyjo · 19/01/2008 18:47

Elkie, I meant to say that I really hope you find your blanket. I am very soppy over things like that, and I would be really upset too. >>> that it turns up

oooggs · 19/01/2008 19:06

sorry Luce I dived to bed last night and yes ds2 is on a Fisher Price Lion

runny at clamping

sol - enjoy your night out

MJ - I'm doing similar off for an Indian with 3 mummy mates (dsc born Feb, March & May)

Eddas - hope you had a nice afternoon

WCL - wow

dd decided to let go of dhs' leg this afternoon and stood on her own for ages - bloody hell we were in shock - she didn't half look pleased with herself

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2008 19:36

Goodness me at all these active, free-standing babies!! Think P will be crawling soon - keeps going from sitting into crawling position ......

runny - unfortunately with a crazy nut bag for a younger sister (DD2) there's no way I could curl up with DD1 and watch a film. Something you can only do when you have one child or one child and a sleeping baby!! So I just have to put up with her constant whinging instead - what joy!! (Fixed)

DD's have been nice, but hard work today and even though they are shattered, they are both still messing around This is my "me" time, grrrrrrr!

Nightmare about the clamping, runny - sorry to hear that.

Octothechildherder · 19/01/2008 19:36

Quick hello - am planning to be in bed for 8pm - have too many late nights and neeeed some sleep.

Runny
WCL

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2008 19:46

Night Octo - hope you get amazing sleep! I can go to bed earlier than about 10 otherwise I am waking up all night feeling like it is time to get up!!

runnyhabbit · 19/01/2008 20:26

I think I've got a coldsore coming

I know I only get them when I'm run down, so I think this is my cue to try and get some early nights in.

Hope you're all having good weekends
x

elkiedee · 19/01/2008 20:37

Hi all

We went to a show at a local children's centre this afternoon, storytelling with puppets and stuff. Really best for children a little older than Danny, but he seemed to enjoy watching a lot of it.

Sadly I'm becoming convinced the blanket is gone - I have an early pic of D lying on it that comes up on my phone when I turn it on. I'm going to have to learn to knit and make a new one. It makes me so sad because I can't imagine that those who took it if that is what happened have hung on to it, it's probably just got tossed into rubbish somewhere.

Hope those getting out for the evening have had a lovely time by the time they read this.

weeonion · 19/01/2008 21:01

elkie - an older lady knit caoimhe 2 blankets for xmas. you are welcome to 1 of them as a poor replacement for your lost one. x

geordiemacminx · 19/01/2008 21:09
