Newborn - Things you forgot

So I am 39 weeks pregnant and would like to know the things people forgot about the newborn stage
I was looking through photos and remembered that my DS would not sleep without being rocked for 3 whole days (we took 3hr shifts rocking him on our legs)

Medical thermometer.

Don't do what I did and wait until sick baby at 3am. Hmm

If breast fed the day 3 overnight nonstop feed to get milk to come in. I forget that happened but essentially spent just the entire night sleep sucking

Witching hour. DS is only 2, but DH seems to have blanked out the 5+ hours of screaming and cluster feeding we endured every night for 6 weeks. Maybe it’s his brains way of convincing him a second is a good idea!

That at the beginning they wake up as soon as you put them down 😂 I had to hold mine for 20 minutes to make sure she was in deep sleep before putting her down

That newborns don't stay sitting up when you are getting them dressed and let go of them to get a jumper.

Glad you posted this, pregnant with my second with a seven year gap, completely forgot about the witching hour. Didn't forget about cluster feeding though, particularly when they have growth spurts and want to increase your supply.

I remember walking around until 3am with DD and Ewan the dream sheep trying to get her to sleep, she was wide awake!
