Hope Baby Fury improves soon.
It's been tipping it down all day here.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 12/01/2008 16:36

Hi sputnik. we've been out in the snow in the hills near us!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 12/01/2008 18:36

Where is everyone today?

HellHathNoFury · 12/01/2008 19:21

ironing. cooking. selling stuff on ebay. getting lost in TV. filling out my weight watchers points tracker. Wondering how I can lie on it so I can have sausages AND chocolate digestives. Realising if I cheat if won't get me anywhere. Have both anyway.

foxythesnowman · 12/01/2008 19:58

'lo.

If anybody wants to send Daisy a personal card email or FB me. You can have my address and I'll forward it on.

it is SO quiet on here tonight ... have you lot started a new thread without telling me?

bumper, re your comment on the other thread. Sometimes you have to put yourselves first, before principles (can't spell that fecking word) and ethics etc. If it has helped you and DH get through what could have been a crap day then it's money well spent (and in any case, you're helping pay the scandalously poor wages of the exploited chef) and it's not as if you're doing it every other day (like I would if I could afford it). I also think a genuine treat when you're on a budget otherwise is a fair lapse (although I'm obviously not brave enough to admit that over there!). Glad you've had a good day.

errr...

Is anyone home?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 13/01/2008 10:06

Morning! So did you all enjoy real life yesterday?

Elsbells · 13/01/2008 10:13

Morning
Not too sure who is around and what has been going on.

Is this the latest thread? I am so confused.

Hope everyone is well and that the dullness of January hasn't hit too hard. I have been feeling completely blah and tbh even anxious for no real reason. Not sure why this strange empty feeling is creeping up on me.With that in mind I have no desire to give up sweets as I just can't bare making myself more miserable even if my belly still hangs over my jeans.

DD is eating very well and loves all our food. Thank goodness! Still no crawling or rolling.

Will be lurking to see updates and hopefully catch up with you all.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 13/01/2008 10:26

Hi els! Sorry you are feeling a bit blah, I kinda sympathise too, I have this general unease at the moment...

This is the right thread. The June mummies find their old selves thread is support for those of us trying to lose weight!

Morning everyone!

MHC hope you had a lovely time, but poor ds1! What a time to get ill! I am really looking forward to taking the dcs to disney in a couple of years...I think I'll be more excited than them!!

I was hoping you'd be on here soon, I have a couple of Qs about home ed. I mentioned the fact that if dd didn't get into the school I want her to go to (we are out of catchment) then I would want to home ed her (and obv ds when he is older) to dp. It didn't go down too well! Why do you home ed your dd and how do you work it? Sorry if being nosy, just interested!!

Ells, I am also of the general blah brigade at this time of year. It's the weather and thebrokeness after christmas that does it I think!

foxythesnowman · 13/01/2008 11:11

Els, I'm just coming through the other side of that.

Holly, I was going to home ed DS1 until a place at the school I wanted him to go to came up. If you want her to go there eventually you could ask the school for their support with the curriculum so she covers similar ground.

I'd be really interested in how you do it too, MHC. I think its such a valid option, but its just not supported/made aware of enough.

HollyIsAHippopotamus · 13/01/2008 11:17

Morning foxy!

My mum suggested it and she is primary school teacher! She would be able to provide all the resources I would need and has even offered to teach the dcs on a saturday!

The only thing that worries me is being motivated enough myself to sit down and actually teach them. Also the socialisation aspect.

I just hope they get into the school! Our catchment school is a horrible pile of shite!

thisisRialifebaby · 13/01/2008 11:23

Good morning

Hi els, that is exactly how I started feeling, as soon as it was time to leave DMs on xmas day. Am working through it but it sure doesn't support stunning weight loss.

I am tired today. There was some maintenance work being done on the railway line and I've been awake since 3.30 listening to it, while baggins thought he was on an all-you-can-eat buffet. Then when DH worked out I was expecting him to get uo I had a nightmare

We're going to DMs for lunch though

foxythesnowman · 13/01/2008 11:25

IKWYM Holly. There's a very dense under 5 population around the school - people move just to get into the school. We got in in the end, and they have a sibling policy thankfully.

Thats great with your mum on side. And from what I've read about it many families don't 'sit and school' formally.

HellHathNoFury · 13/01/2008 11:41

Oh shit
DS started crawling today

Home Ed sounds interesting

HollyIsAHippopotamus · 13/01/2008 11:47

Oh dear fury...be prepared for mess!! Congrats to ds!

Luckily the school I want the dcs to go to is in a student/older family area and is never fully subscribed from catchment.

Even if I did home ed I wouldn't do it for long as I really need to get back to work. We cannot afford for me to be a sahm at all, but we just don't pay all the bills!

thisisRialifebaby · 13/01/2008 11:47

Is he feeling a bit better fury? Now the trouble starts

Afternoon

Sorry you've not been feeling so bright Els - pretty common for this time of year. But just think, longer days/shorter nights will be with us soon, then the crocuses will be out, then the daffs and things should get a bit perkier.

Can you tell we went to the garden centre this morning? Didn't buy anything, but went to give me some form of destination on our long walk. I really needed it, I was a right grumpy sod this morning but that walk blew the cobwebs away nicely and now I feel tippety-toppety

LittleMissNorty · 13/01/2008 12:56

Hello everyone

very quiet on this thread...

housework is never ending and bloody monotonous....I've always known this but it is getting to me atm

went out to dinner last night round friends....it was lovely but my anxieties / panic attacks still got the better of me ....perhaps I won't be weaning myself off the ADs as I planned ....

Just looked at the Xmas videos....god I didn't realise how fat I was (well perhaps I did and was trying to ignore it...)

Well I'm a bundle of fun today ....I'll lurk and go and do something constructive until I feel a bit brighter....sorry

sputnik · 13/01/2008 14:14

Well they say january the 17th is the most depressing day of the year. We're nearly there then soon it'll be crocuses etc like Jammy said

foxythesnowman · 13/01/2008 14:36

bet Fury's off in Mothercare stocking up on Stairgates

Oh Norty! I had one of those 'wake-up' moments 6 months after DD1 was born. I was shocked by a photo of myself. It really did stir me into action though. I need another one.

Had a quick spin around the shops yesterday - found 2 coats - one bright red (DP mentioned Cruella DeVille when I showed him ) the other Next School Run Coat. Couldn't decide. To my surprise DP said 'why don't you have both?' (should say one was £55 and the other £40 so hardly designer!)

I can't wait for Spring, I've already noticed the difference in the evenings - just a half-hour kick about in the park after school makes a huge difference to our happy state.

All quiet here. DP just headed off to park with 3 older ones, I'm waiting for lo to wake up so we can join them. Dinner is made, so a quick tidy and cuppa. How exciting is my life?!
