Am very unclear how Vinnie?s musical taste is shaping up.

Not allowed:

?it?s such a perfect day?

?Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody?

Allowed:

?Go find the young men never to fight again
Bring up the banners from the days gone by
Sweet moderation, heart of this nation

Merry Christmas everyone - hope all of you are doing well.

Got an early unexpected Christmas present ...... I am expecting next Aug . It hasn't really sunk in properly yet but have been feeling sick so everything seems to be OK so far.

Have a good Christmas day tomorrow

Rolf · 05/02/2009 19:59

Eulalia - I've just seen this. Congratulations, what lovely news! How are you feeling now?

Eulalia · 18/02/2009 10:34

Thanks Rolf. It's taken me a couple of months to get used to the idea. ds2 had just come out of nappies at night and for the first time in 9 1/2 years was a no nappies household and a few days later I found out I was pregnant.

Had a dreadful Christmas in some respects, really nauseous but better now. First scan was OK but think I am going to have amniocentesis because of my age. That would probably be next week.

Hope all is well with you. How old is your baby now? Not getting on Mumsnet so much these days.

Anyone else still around?

Rolf · 26/02/2009 22:53

Hi Eulalia. Hope the amnio has gone/goes well. DD2 is 8 months. It's very bittersweet seeing her growing bigger as she's probably my last baby so I won't be doing all this again. Hattie is enjoying her being more mobile and responsive. They sit in the double buggy giggling at each other.

Are the other children excited? I know what you mean about nappies. The tommee tippee nappy wrapper has been in daily use for over 9 years with no sign of retiring it!

Haven't seen Bagpuss for ages. I think Hoxton Chick is still around. Haven't seen anyone else for ages.

DiamondsAreForever · 02/03/2009 16:23

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd check in to this ancient thread and lovely to see Eulalia and Rolf chatting. Good news Eulalia- I take my hat off to you! I have definitely stopped at two, I am not brave enough to have another!
Hope you're all doing well- it seems such a long time since we were all chatting.
My two are fabulous- getting on like a house on fire. Or partners in crime, not sure which. DD wants to be a ballerina when she is older, she has started ballet classes and it's the sweetest thing I have ever seen in my life. DS is now two and a bit and is a right little monkey. We have two totally stereotypical children, I'm not sure how that happened!
We've just booked our first proper family holiday (after a stressful trip to the States last year to see SIL we haven't been able to face another flight) but are now determined/desperate for some sunshine. So I am now looking for two trunkis to keep the children happy zooming around the airport in May before we head to sunny Spain. Can't wait!
Would love to hear from you all and see how you're all doing. Lots of love H x

Hello there, congratulations Eulalia!

DS2 is 1 year on Thursday, and ds1 is lovely. Goes to a pre-school a few days a week. I'm not working as I've developed rheumatoid arthritis since ds2's birth. It's poorly controlled at present, I'd be off sick if I was WOH, but as you know that kind of doesn't work with SAH...Anyway, trying not to let it get me down.

Desperate for a holiday! In the throes of setting one up. Roll up, roll up, let me get it together!

Eulalia · 11/03/2009 11:20

Hi again, its nice to see some familiar faces with all your news.

I have bad news am afraid, no baby all details are on the over 40's pregnancy topic if you want to know. Don't think I could bear to type it all out again.

However I do feel very fortunate to have 3 lovely children - have been counting my blessings!

I am sorry to hear you are ill Merryberry and hope it can be managed properly in the future.

merryberry · 11/03/2009 14:20

Such bad news Eulalia, I'm very sorry. I hope the follow up talk helps.

bagpuss · 02/06/2009 14:38

Oh, Eulalia, just catching up on your news, I am really sorry to hear about that and hope that you are doing OK (I see it is a little while since anyone posted).

Hello to everyone else. Rolf bless you for remembering me. I have been on a self imposed posting ban for quite a while and life has taken a few unexpected twists and turns in the past six months or so which I will update you all on shortly .

ds2 is brilliant fun at the moment and loving his pre school. He can't wait to start school in September too. Are any others starting in September or are some of you lucky enough to have staggered entry in January as well?

Anyway must dash as I am supposed to be doing something productive while all the children are at school.

Rolf · 03/06/2009 13:38

BAGPUSS I saw your name on another thread and I know what your news is! Congratulations -how hugely exciting and terrifying! I'm so happy for you and (madly, I know) a little bit jealous. Do come back and tell all your news.

x

Rolf · 03/06/2009 13:48

Eulalia - I'm sorry, I've just scrolled down and seen your sad news. I'm really very sorry to read about it. You and your family are in my thoughts.

bagpuss · 03/06/2009 14:13

Thank you Rolf! Very belated congratulations to you too on dd2's birth. I hope life with four is treating you well.

For those who haven't spotted other threads - I am rather unexpectedly 15 weeks pg with twins . dh and I had just got over the shock of a positive test result and decided that 4 would be ok and then I went for my 12 week scan (alone I might add) and knew as soon as I saw the screen that it was twins. To say I am terrified is an understatement but I am coming round to the idea.

Other not so good things have also happened too. In November we decided that the dcs school was not where we wanted them to be (variety of reasons, but ds1 going into Juniors was a big wake up call) so chose to move to a new school which is lovely (Rolf, 'tis the one where SIL sends nephew so plenty of family help ). The following day while out with dh shopping for new uniform, dh gets a call on his mobile from his boss saying they are making redundancies and he has been selected . Poor dh was so upset but was amazing through the whole thing not only negotiating some money for us to live off in the short term but also happily for getting a new job which started in January. We are now just about on an even keel again but I can certainly say that life is never dull in this house!

Sorry for long and rather self indulgent post btw and nice to "see" you again Rolf.

Rolf · 03/06/2009 14:55

That's crap about your DH's job. Glad he's got another one though. I hope he's settled in and is enjoying the work. That must have been horribly stressful for you.

Are you going to stay in your house or will you have to move? Are the twins identical? I am clearly very over excited - sorry - but I think that because we have actually met I will justify it that way .

bagpuss · 03/06/2009 15:09

lol

No, we are staying put at the moment. Sadly dh's new job came with a nice pay cut too so we are having to make do until things pick up. Job is going ok but is a much smaller firm which I think is taking some getting used to for dh. Some of his banking contacts have been relocated to the same area though so he is sure to be doing work on the banking side again once the banks get their act together . He is a lot closer to home too which is a help.

Twins are non identical according to sonographer but I'm not sure if that is an official diagnosis - antenatal care is a bit patchy to say the least.

DiamondsAreForever · 09/07/2009 16:09

Hi all,
OMG Bagpuss! That's amazing news! Hope you're feeling well. I think twins are absolutely fantastic.
Hi to everyone else. Don't you think we should change the thread name/ start a new one? We're all almost four!
DD is having a full-on assault on pinkness this weekend with her best friend. We're hiring a hall and having a Princess party, which should be great fun. DS is just brilliant fun too, 2 and a half is such a great age. We call the pair of them the magnets as they are constantly drawn to each other- sometimes ending up on top of each other which is always a joy...

I've also just got a new job after TWO YEARS of looking! Out of wine and into coffee so am working my way around the vices. I start in a few weeks so of course these few weeks are lovely at work- just handing things over and enjoying myself! The hard work is round the corner so I'm making the most of it.
anyway, hope all are well and catch up soon. x
