Light bleeding 12months postpartum...

I'm 12 postpartum after my second planned caesarean. I started exercising about 3 months ago and noticed some light spotting in between periods. I wasn't sure it was related at first so I just carried on. Very light mind, nothing like weights but just easy HIIT.

I went to get it check out with my doctor who did an internal examination but he couldn't see anything unusual. He said he'd put me forward for an ultrasound but I'm feeling quite worried now.

I've just left the exercise for about 10 days and just came back to it yesterday .... and I've started bleeding again.

Given my caesarean was so long ago, I can't understand why this would be. Not experiencing any pain, a little achey in my abdomen very occasionally.

Haven't heard back from the doctor yet re scan but just wondering if anyone has experienced this and what the outcome was?

Hey.

Sorry you’ve not had any replies on this post!

I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice but just wondered how you got on? This has just happened to me today 13 weeks postpartum from c section. Bled for 4 weeks then had my period then had nothing since. Went back to the gym for the first time and got home was light bleeding. It’s not my period as I’m on depo injection which stops them.

X.

Thank you so much for responding.

Well I suppose the only way I was going to get it sorted was through the doctors… so I went to see my GP. I actually booked a private ultrasound scan for speeds sake just in case it was something really nasty.

Transpires I have a couple of fibroids, a cyst on one ovary but likely that the bleeding comes from an adenomyosis diagnosis. It’s like a cousin of endometriosis. Instead of growing down the Fallopian tubes, the uterus lining grows into the muscles around it as I understand it 🤷🏻‍♀️

The bleeding has funnily enough now stopped, but I get pretty bad cramping now on a daily basis. You can only manage it with pain killers, there’s no cure so hopefully it won’t be so bad I’ll need a hysterectomy 😓

Apparently very common though… who knew! Getting old sucks 🤣

Xxx

Sorry I forgot to respond to your actual comment 🙄 mum brain.

I guess 13 weeks is still pretty soon after baby so things may still be getting back to normal? But the fact the light bleed has come after exercise could be a sign of something else.

I did a lot of doctor Google and apparently it’s possible after exercise if you’re too strenuous? I know my workouts weren’t that full out, couldn’t be bothered hahaha

Thank you for responding!

I had an operation to remove 1 ovary back in January last year so I have had complications in that area. I’m going to ring the gp tomorrow, fingers crossed it’s just postpartum related. I hope you’re doing well now. Xxx
