1 week old taking 3oz every 2 hours

My new baby son is just over a week old. I am formula feeding him, but straight from the off he was drinking a lot of milk, he was 8lb6oz so not humungous. Now he's a week old he's happily taking 3oz every two hours including through the night. This seems like a lot!

Just wanted a bit of reassurance really, does anyone elses baby drink this much milk?

This sounds normal to me. Is he producing lots of wet and dirty nappies?

Yep DS takes the same amount every 2 hours too. If we try less he just screams. Works for us so that's what we're doing. Has more when expressing too guessing formula is thicker or something/fills him quicker
