C section recovery

Hi,
I had a c section 2 weeks ago
The scar looks lovely externally (by that I mean infection free and closed!)
I'm managing day to day fine
But on an evening getting in and out of bed internally I have shooting pain left hand side
I'd love to know what's going on in there
Had to take some oromorph at 2am to settle

I know pain and recovery differs for us all but how has anyone else's pain been?

I think at two weeks I was still taking paracetamol and ibuprofen regularly.
I sort of rolled out of bed to avoid pain

I am 11 days post section and have similar and had the same with my previous section but on the right hand side.

Apparently it’s quite common to have more pain on one side depending on where they tied the stitches. Getting out of bed after laying down is definitely the hardest part!

I had a sharp shooting pain on my right side and you can tell from the stitches that's where they tied them (it's slightly more raised). I would say it's normal. Tbh I've had all sorts of aches and pains in my abdomen area over the last few weeks to the point that I went to see a nurse who told me that even when external stitches look good, there's still a lot of healing going on underneath as there's more than one layer of stitches. I am 10 weeks PP tomorrow and only now am I 90% pain free (still get some niggles if I do too much)

Ring up the maternity assessment unit and ask to go in for better pain relief. Dihydrocodeine helped me get more mobile, and the improved mobility seemed to deal with the pain in my right side (sitting on a Swiss ball helped, too). Good luck.

Make sure you’re still taking ibuprofen/paracetamol. I thought “I should be easing off them now” and stopped but continue the painkillers if you have pain, that’s what the midwife said. Mine became infected but then I couldn’t rest much.
DD is nearly 6 months now, it still hurts.
